This new edition incorp orate s technical changes only. It does not rep res ent a full

review or revis ion of the s tandard, which will b e undertaken in due co urse.

The following change s have b een included in this e dition of the s tandard. A new

sub clause 3 . 4 has b een added, s p ecifying the requirements for p arts; in Tab le 1 ,

line 6. 1 , the quenching details have b een modified, in Tab le 1 , line 1 5 , an omitted

elongation value has b een added under “Us e condition” , and in Tab le 1 , line 1 9,

“ k ” has b een sp ecified.

This British S tandard s p ecifies the ins pection and testing procedures , chemical comp osition, heat

treatme nt and mechanical p rop erties for a p recipitation hardening cop p er- b eryllium alloy s up plied in the

form of s trip and foil. The material is s up plied in the solution treated and cold rolled condition for

p recip itation treatment after conve rsion into p arts .

3 . 1 Material to this s tandard s hall conform to the technical requirem ents sp ecified in Tab le 1 . All material

s upp lied s hall conform to the re quirements ap p ropriate to its dimens ions and condition as sp ecifie d in the

s tandards given in lines 5 and 96 of Tab le 1 .

3 . 2 S ymb ols and units us ed in Tab le 1 s hall b e interp reted in accordance with BS 5 55 5 and BS 5 7 75- 0.
