The Coca – Cola soft drink is known for its trademark red color for the
label and its hourglass-like bottle design. The soda has a dark-reddish color. The
design makes it convenient to bring around anywhere, anytime and to share to
anyone also.

II. Inventory Management

Coca – Cola company manages its company in an efficient manner by using
technology that simplifies the inventory management of the company. An
example of this is the QAD Advanced Inventory Management that is applied to
Coca – Cola Swailand. This is to achieve greater flexibility in warehouse and
stock management by determining warehousing processes and physical aspects
of stock management that could be streamlined for greater efficiency. An
example is the barcode scanners and radio frequency systems that enable users
to control inventory management processes. With this, Coca – Cola would
achieve greater inventory accuracy and reduce the need for periodic manual
inventory counts by collecting inventory movement data in real time. With QAD
Advanced Inventory Management (AIM), The Coca – Cola Company would
streamline all aspects of warehousing, including inventory control,
replenishment, put-away and picking logic, and labor management. Along with
this, the distribution of the goods will take lesser time due to user defined rules
and cause the inventory holdings to minimize, thus reducing the overall
expenses for storage.

III. Quality Assurance

According to Quality Assurance Mag, to insure Coca – Cola’s quality, the
company conducts at-trade sampling. This includes buying own products from
retail establishments to test from taste to micro to label coding and alignment.
These results are compiled every month for analysis in order to promote
continuous improvement.
The Coca – Cola company has a Global Safety Food Initiative (GSFI)
certification, which means that the company has a high concern for the quality of
products. The company also created a new system of KORE, which focuses on the
quality, food, safety, environmental, and occupational safety and health policies.
Coca – Cola also became a participant in GSFI’s conferences and events,
thus enabling different companies to share ideas to improve the quality of their
products. Engaging more with different companies and combining ideas made
the Coca – Cola the company that it is right now.

IV. Supply Chain

According to the Coca – Cola’s website: “Our supply chain plays a central
role in our business, ensuring that, in all our processes, we minimise our
environmental impact and ensure sustainability in our value chain.” Along with
this, Coca – cola makes sure that the environmental impact of their products is
lessened by considering its sustainability from sourcing raw materials and
manufacturing the end product to distributing it to customers.” According to
Marcel Martin, the Coca – Cola HBC supply chain director: “Our mission is to
become the leading supply chain function in our industry in terms of customer
service and cost efficiency. To achieve this, we focus our efforts on keeping our
people engaged, excelling in sustainability, reducing our costs and building best-
in-class customer service and responsiveness.” Because of this statement, Coca –
Cola requires their suppliers to have certifications in ISO 9001 (quality), ISO
14001 (environment) and OSHAS 18001 (health and safety). Also, the ingredient
and packing suppliers must have as certification to FSSC 22000 for food safety
and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Another important factor that
improves the sustainability of Coca is the investment in advanced technologies.
These technologies will help minimize the company’s quality issues and usage of
chemicals that will harm the environment and health of the people.

production processes with sophisticated control equipment and testing
equipment to meet and exceed the customer’s and consumer’s expectations.
