(positions, rules, times, how to
score, penalty/free passes,
defending allowances)
Recording Statistics
Statisticians are to record
statistics from their team every
week on the Google Drive Excel
Spreadsheet and create a
graph for each event that
occurs (goals scored,
opposition goals scored,
intercepts etc.)
Data Presentation
Statistician is responsible for
presenting all statistics to the
class in Week 11 (slideshow,
presentation, iMovie).
ICT Competency
Student’s ability to use their
ICT Tool confidently and
competently.
Undeveloped (1 points)
Student has little to no
understanding of netball rules.
Knowledge regarding player
positions is also lacking.
Student uses DartFish to record
statistics throughout the game –
some statistics are inaccurate or
falsified. No data was input into
the Excel spreadsheet and no
graphs were created.
No presentation is given or
falsified data is used. Presentation
is poor (using excel or word) and
does not include all events.
Student avoids using their ICT Tool
in their role as statistician. Student
does not understand how to use
the app.
Developing (2 points)
Student demonstrates a basic
understanding of netball game
rules. Student struggles with
understanding the more difficult
rules such as replay and
obstruction. Some playing
positions allowances confuse the
student.
Student uses the app to record
statistics. Some inaccuracies in
data. Student inputs some data
into the excel spreadsheet but no
graphs are created.
Student creates a slideshow of
graphs to present to class. Student
uses their own data. Presentation
is not complete as not all events
are incorporated.
Student demonstrates limited use
of their ICT Tool. They are not
confident and often need
assistance.
Satisfactory (3 points)
Student has a satisfactory
understanding of netball –
including the understanding rules
and most of the playing positions.
Does not know the difference
between a penalty pass and a free
pass.
Student uses DartFish correctly
and with only minor mistakes in
the data. The excel spreadsheet is
completed and graphs are created
for most events.
Student uses slideshow to present
their statistics to the class.
Presentation incorporates all
events and student uses creative
ways to present the data (different
graphs/charts).
Student is competent in most
facets of the ICT Tool but still
needs assistance in some areas.
Exemplary (4 points)
Student demonstrates an excellent
understanding of netball. All rules and
playing positions are well known as well
as the difference between a penalty
pass and a free pass.
Student uses DartFish confidently and
competently. No discernible mistakes
with recording the data. The excel
spreadsheet is completed correctly and
graphs are created for all events.
Student presents a creative and
engaging presentation to the class. All
statistics are included and data is easily
comparable and shows improvement
after each week through interesting
charts or graphs.
Student is confident is all areas of their
ICT Tool. Student demonstrates
competency and independence when
using their tool.
