Jeff Veley Assembly – Wednesday, February 13th – various times, see below.

Sweetheart Dance – Please return your intentions and money for the 8th as soon as possible. This is
going to be a special night for our ladies filled with pictures, dancing, cupcakes, and fun. New to
the event or need some questions answered not on the invite - please call the office or ask your
daughter’s homeroom teacher.

School Wellness Update: It is cold outside, but we need to keep active -all of us. Heart rates need
to be elevated and physical fitness is the key. Healthy lifestyles are promoted at Knapp with our
physical education, recess and lunch, full-school activities and our partnership with the
YMCA. Throughout the year our PE teacher, Mr. Baglenorth, gets our hearts pumping with PE
classes, introduces, reviews and practices healthy physical fitness and eating habits. The Wellness
Committee has posters up around the school promoting healthy snack options and the school sign
is promoting our healthy snack day – remember to send a healthy snack on February 19th – but no
need to wait, start now. We continue to promote snack options, workouts, play, and fun recess,
lunch and afterschool games that increase and sustain an elevated heartrate are the focus for our
“Be Active Your Way” and to see more fun ways to promote an active lifestyle at home. Click on

Book Fair - Our winter book fair is just around the corner! We need your help...so please visit the
link below to see where you can help. Shopping hours will be Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm,
with extended hours on Thursday. Thursday we will be open until 8:00 pm during
conferences. Students will have the opportunity to visit the bookfair during their library time to fill out

Re-Enrollment – It’s important that you have re-enrolled your child for next year and saved their
seat. Please login to your parent portal and on your home page will be a link to complete this
process. It’s imperative that we have your re-enrollment decision before the end of January.

Responsible Choices Assemblies – Knapp is excited to welcome speaker/presenter Jeff Veley to


Knapp on Wednesday, February 13. Jeff will be presenting to students, staff, and parents on bullying
information/prevention, problem solving, and empowerment. The schedule for the day will
be: *8:45-9:45 - Parent Presentation, *10:00-11:00 - Y5-2, *12:50-1:50 - 3-5 and *2:05-3:05 - Middle
School. Please consider joining us for both the parent session, as well as any of the student sessions
