(checklist) appendix 1 seasons book using Book Creator (show summer chapter as a
reviser). They will need to list and describe – observable changes
they see in the land and the sky comparing the seasons.
• But first educator will have the children log onto their iPads in QR codes/ Padlet
designated pairs and create a brainstorm on Padlet of what they brainstorm

with someone whom needs more guidance and support) and will
work on their chapter of winter on Book Creator.
• Educator will display webpage that children will be working off https://weatherdetec
that they can use as reference. tives.weebly.com/

Group one
o Half of the class will go outside and become weather Book creator (app) on
detectives – recording visually and verbally, iPad.
photographing and typing what they can describe from
their observations – feel, hear and see.
o They will be as creative as they can be in their
observations and how they can project that it is winter.

Group two
o The other half of the group will be inside as weather Jars, water, shaving
observers. They will have the activity explained to them; cream and blue dye
shaving cream is the ‘clouds’ and the blue dye is the ‘rain’
they are going to predict what they think they will
observe and explain why they have come to that
conclusion.
o The children will be prompted to take a photo of each
step -observe the first unchanged variable, then copy that
image and explain (through verbal recordings, text or
drawings), what they think will happen when another
variable is added.
o The children will then record via video or photo of what
has happened. The children will then need to discuss and
explicitly explain what they have seen. Educator will be
guiding and explaining the steps to the children as they
go along.

Conclusion:
• Children will then gather down on the mat and share something
iPads and projector
new they have learnt.
• The children can then have the opportunity to share through the
projector what they have achieved so far and reflecting on their
knowledge now.

there will be a large glass bowl that will have warm water
that is dyed red to represent ‘hot’. The children will make
predictions of what will happen when adding the ice into Water, dye, bowls,

predictions.
o The children will then have one videoing the experiment
and the other adding the ice into the warm water. The
children will then explain what they are seeing with the
variables. The children will add this into the iMovie app.
Conclusion:
• the class will gather on the mat. The educator will instruct
the children to sit in their pair and create a presentation iPad/ projector.

into the iMovie app.
• Educator will ask a couple of pairs to come up and show
their progress so far to their peers.
