NOTES ON ORDERING SPARE PARTS


List of wearing and spare parts
All wearing and spare parts are listed on the following pages in the order of the main assemblies of the
machine. The abbreviations used in the “material/remarks” column have the following meaning:
VERSCH Wearing part (non-warranty part) a)

ET-1 Spare part (normal-wear part)

ET-2 Spare part (max. equipment kit)

ROLLER BEARINGS Computer print-out of all roller bearings in the order


of the individual main
groups with the “ROLLER BEARING DIAGRAM”.

Spare parts catalogue


Mechanical spares are compiled in a separate “Spare parts catalogue”. A copy of this “Spare pans cata-
logue” is supplied with each machine. The “Spare pans catalogue” contains:

GROUP DRAWINGS These are reduced, but otherwise unaltered, assembly drawings.
The list of equipment in the wiring diagram contains the designation and the identification number of
the spare pan for each function group number.

Spare parts for the hydraulic!pneumatic system are compiled in a component parts list for purchased
parts.

Quick and correct delivery of spare pans is not possible unless the order contains the following informa-
tion:

Machine type

Serial number of the machine.

Identification number and designation of the spare pan or number of the spare pan on this page.

Colour (painted pans only).

a) In special cases, workshop drawings of the “pans particularly susceptible to wear” are supplied.
b) The version required for the machine can be found in the “wiring diagram” in the switch cabinet of
the machine.

JUNTO CON LOS DIAGRAMAS DE ALAMBRALAS.
HOW TO ACT IN THE EVENT OF A FAULT
In the event of faults, the cause of which cannot be traced or which give rise to the suspicion that a certain
defect exists, the nearest MAHO service department should be notified without delay.

External faults caused by power supply failure, for example, can generally be rectified by the customer
himself.

In the event of a power supply failure, switch off the machine immediately at main switch.

When power supply has been re-established, start up the machine as described on Page 3.01-1 and then
return the machine to the original position in the appropriate operating mode.

Should the headstock collide with the table or workpiece (e.g. when setting up), actuate the feed STOP or
EMERGENCY STOP buttons.
If an EMERGENCY STOP limitation trip-dog is “overtravelled”, the appropriate machine slide must be reset
manully as described on Page 10.03-1; see also Page 10.02-1 “MALFUNCTION INDICATOR”.

MALFUNCTION INDICATOR (“SM 16”)

Malfunction indication

The indicator lamp -37H1- “error indication” lights up when a fault occurs and a figure appears in the
LED display corresponding to the malfunction. This display remains until acknowledged by pressing the
key (RESET) even if the malfunction only existed momentarily or if the machine lost power due to this
malfunction (storage of the malfunction display). If several errors appear at the same time (chain
reaction), the display shows only the error which produced the malfunction. This is the case if the
machine control system lost power due to an interruption of the EMERGENCY STOP circuit (break
chain).

NOTE: The RESET key is located beside the LED display.

Troubleshooting with SM

If the machine cannot be switched on due to a malfunction, the SM can facilitate troubleshooting. If the
start key is pressed for more than 2 seconds (RESET time), the device indicates the fault location but does
not store it. If the fault location changes, this display follows. Should several faults occur, only the fault of
the greatest value (priority) is displayed. The priorities are determined by the sequence of the connections.
The higher the terminal figure, the greater the priority. See “Error code list - malfunction indicator”. The
list applicable to the machine can be found in the switch cabinet door together with the wiring diagrams.

RESETTING THE MACHINE SLIDES MANUALLY AFTER TRAVERSING THE


EMERGENCY STOP CAMS
When traversing over the emergency stop cams

If, due to a positioning error, the normal range of the X, Y and Z-axes is traversed over, the machine is
stopped with the “EMERGENCY STOP” pushbutton. The screen displays the error “# 05” and a fault is
indicated in the interference signalling device.

In order to re-start after this, a switch must be pressed to bridge the “EMERGENCY STOP” circuit.

The slides of the axes concerned must be reset manually as described below and the error must be can-
celled.

NOTE: Two people are required to do this.

Operate tumbler switch -7S2- at left-hand side of switch cabinet door and hold it.

Ensure that the mushroom pushbutton -S1- on the control desk is not actuated.

Operate illuminated pushbutton -3SH1- “Machine ON”.

Operate axes so that the refemce points can be reached without collision.

Release tumbler switch -7S2-.

Traverse to reference points and continue programmed run.

SWITCHING THE INTERMEDIATE TRANSMISSION FOR THE MAIN DRIVE


MANUALLY
Should the automatic intermediate gear shifting system fail, this can be shifted manually as follows:

Stop the workspindle.

Insert hexagonal 12 mm screwdriver into the control shaft (3) and turn clockwise or anti-clockwise,
that the marks on the disk (4) correspond to
shifting position required.

STARTING THE MACHINE AFTER STOPPING THE SAFETY CLUTCHES


The X, Y and Z-axes are equipped with safety clutches-which, in the event of overloading, e.g. collision,
immediately bring the machine to a standstill via “EMERGENCY STOP”.

The error “X04, Y04 or Z04” is displayed on the screen.

Erase the error message and re-start the machine. Traverse to reference points again for all axes.

IMPORTANT: All damage due to collision should be reportea to the MAHO service

department.

FAILURE OF THE CENTRAL LUBRICATION SYSTEM


Restarting the machine after a lubrication failure
NOTE: Items in brackets refer to the illustration on Page 3.20-1 “AUTOMATIC CENTRAL
LUBRICATION SYSTEM”.

Check oil level in transparent tank (4) and top up oil if necessary through the filling aperture (3), see
Page 7.06-1 “RECOMMENDED LUBRICANTS”.

Erase error message, see CNC operating instructions.

Actuate illuminated pushbutton -3SH1- on control panel. Signal lamp -3H1- lights up. a)

If the error message appears, the central lubricating pump fails to build up any pressure.
Check main lines between central lubricating unit (1) and oil distributors for leaks. Eliminate any
leaks.

After rectifying the cause of the fault

Erase error message, see CNC operating instructions.

Actuate illuminated pushbutton -3SH1- on control panel. Signal lamp -3H1- lights up. a)
