SEMI-DATAILED LESSON PLAN IN MUSIC 8

I. OBJECTIVE:
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
 Sing Korean song.
 Explain the Music of Korea.
 Differentiate the two types of Korean music.
 Classify the Musical Instrument of Korea.
Respect and appreciate the Music of Korea.
II. SUBJECT MATTER:
A. Topic/ Concepts: Music and Arts of Asia Learner’s Module [Music of Korea (East
Asian Music)].
III. MATERIALS:
A. References: Music and Arts of Asia Learner’s Module and Curriculum Guide
B. Materials: Visual Aids/PowerPoint presentation, pictures.
IV. LEARNING ACTIVITIES
A. Daily Routine and Review of Previous Lesson
B. Motivation
 The teacher will show some pictures of famous singers in Korea and let the
students to name them by simply arranging the scrambled words and ask
the student question after all the pictures are presented.
1. Who loves Korea here? Can I ask why you love Korea?
2. Are Koreans/Korea influential? Yes or No? In what way/why?
C. Lesson Preparation
 The teacher will present the objectives of the lesson in the class.
D. Lesson Proper ( 4A’s)
a) Activity:
 The teacher will group the students into three (3) and let the group to
arrange the strips in five minutes. The first group can finish the task will
have 10pnts. Second group will have 9pnts. and third group will have
8pnts.
b) Analysis:
 Question:
1. Did you enjoy activity class?
2. What are the things you found in the strips/ what was all about the
strips?
3. What do you think our topic for today?
c) Abstraction:
The teacher will formally discuss the topic about Music of Korea.
d) Application:
Sing the famous folk song of Korea, which is “Arirang”.
V. EVALUATION
 Short Quiz:
1. Explain the Music of Korea. 3pnts.
2. Two types of Korean Music and differentiate?
3. Classify the following pictures of Musical Instrument of Korea (String,
Wind, and Percussion).
VI. ASSIGNMENT
 Study the MUSIC of EAST ASIA (JAPAN, CHINA, and KOREA) for our long
quiz in Music.
