CHAPTER II. METHODLOGY

3.1 Situational Analysis

3.1.1 Identification and Evaluation of Needs

The purpose of this proposal is to propose a place as a solution to decrease stress and

promote optimal health through the application of Biophilic Architecture which promote the

human-nature connection.

physical and psychological illness. Because of increasing of public awareness over health

issues, local and international tourist travel for medical treatment a blending tourist and well-

being within wellness concept.

aspects concerning the issues and problem:

1. How can the proposed project break the linkage between disability and poverty?

4. How can the concept of Social Architecture enhance the facilities that benefit the user?

3.1.3 Recommendations, Suggestions and Proposal

A person having a disability has a higher odds of living poor or becoming poor than an able-

bodied person. The consequences of a person with a disability are the limited job offered and

low salary earned. Insufficient budget for education and inaccessible to health care service

that maintains their feeble condition and might lead to further health risk. This series of

events explains why disability is linked to poverty or the other way around.

This thesis sought in finding solutions through architecture by proposing a Vocational

Livelihood Center that provides assistance and employs a person with a disability. In this way,

it will break the linkage between disability and poverty. This will extremely help a person

with a disability in meeting its economic needs sustainably and reduce the poverty and

unemployment rate in the society.

The application of Social Architecture will create the layout of spaces that encourage social

interaction by building alluring public spaces. This will build up positive self-image towards

the user and the society. The integration of Inclusive Architecture in designing the structures

will allow the person with a disability to access spaces easily and move freely.’
