Recommendations:
• Buy a “STD Flex US ultrasonic leak
detector costing around 0.1 million PKR.
• Motors <40HP and >15 years old (or
prev. rewound) have significantly lower
efficiencies, hence it is best to replace
them.
• If the rewind cost exceeds 50% to 65% of
a new high efficiency motor price, buy a
new high efficiency motor. Increased
reliability and efficiency should quickly
recover price premium.
• In facility all 36-watts tube lights should
replaced with 18-watts LED lights.
• Due to corrosion and erosion, fan blades
become weaken and an imbalance is
created in the impeller. In these cases
either the impeller should be replaced or
fans can be replaced with FRP (Fiber
Reinforced Plastic) fans that can save 20-
25% energy.
