Schools Division Superintendent
DepEd - Division of Oriental Mindoro
Sta. Isabel, Calapan City

Madam:

Warmest greetings!

The undersigned plans to initiate Project Recyclobots (Recyclable Materials - made Robots)
Olympiad. The aforementioned project basically aims to support the Republic Act 9003 also known as
the “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000” and the Municipal Ordinance No. 5 s. 2010
also known as “Environment Code of Municipality of Socorro, Oriental Mindoro” through a school-
based recycling competition.

In this regard, I humbly ask permission from your good office to allow me to materialize the said
activity on August 16, 2018 in the aforementioned school. I strongly believe that through this project,
participants (families/teams in School’s Intramurals) would be able to contribute their fair share in
promoting recycling as a means to lessen the solid wastes being disposed, show their creativity in
making life-size stationary robot, and make life-size robot that will symbolically represent their
family/team.

I am looking forward that this request will merit your kindest approval. Thank you very much and God
bless.

Very truly yours,

JOMAR B. LASAC

PROJECT PROPOSAL

I. Title

Project Recyclobots (Recyclable Materials - made Robots) Olympiad

II. Target Beneficiaries

Families/Teams in School’s Intramurals

III. Focal Person

JOMAR B. LASAC
SHS Teacher III/ Project Proponent

IV. Proposed Date

August 16, 2018

V. Proposed Venue

Leuteboro National High School

Leuteboro, Socorro, Oriental Mindoro

VI. Rationale

Based on the results of their doctorate research entitled “Waste Analysis and
Characterization Study in Leuteboro National High School, Socorro, Oriental Mindoro”, the Project
Recyclobots Olympiad proponent who was the lead researcher of the said research and his co-
researchers recommended to the school administration to conduct activities that encourage the use
of recyclable materials and/or wastes.
To materialize the aforementioned recommendation, the project proponent has
conceptualized and planning to initiate a school-based project called Project Recyclobots
(Recyclable Materials - made Robots) Olympiad. The name of the said project was inspired by two
prestigious events, the Philippine Robotics Olympiad and the World Robot Olympiad.
Families/teams in School’s Intramurals will be the participants of Project Recyclobots
Olympiad. Each family/team will be required to create a life-size stationary robot made basically
from recyclable materials and/or wastes, at least six (6) feet in height. Their robots will be used as
their symbolic representation especially during the opening and awarding ceremonies.
Inspired by Project Recyclobots Olympiad, the project proponent strongly believes that the
school administration would initiate more activities similar to the stated recycling competition.
Consequently, Leuteboro National High School, as an active member of the community, will be
able to support the Republic Act 9003 also known as “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of
2000” and the Municipal Ordinance No. 5 s. 2010 also known as “Environment Code of
Municipality of Socorro, Oriental Mindoro”.
VII. Objectives

The project proposal primarily seeks to support the Republic Act 9003 also known as the
“Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000” and the Municipal Ordinance No. 5 s. 2010
also known as “Environment Code of Municipality of Socorro, Oriental Mindoro” through a
school-based recycling competition.
Moreover, through Project Recyclobots Olympiad, target beneficiaries are anticipated to:
1. contribute their fair share in promoting recycling as a means to lessen the solid
wastes being disposed,
2. show their creativity in making life-size stationary robot, and
3. make life-size robot that will symbolically represent their family/team in
School’s Intramurals.

VIII. Implementation Strategies

The proponent will spend time for the planning of the proposed project. He will request
for the assistance of MAPEH Department. They will plan the details of implementation of the
project particularly the competition mechanics.
Afterwards, he will ask for the approval of the school head. When approval is secured
and the project proposal is signed, he will communicate immediately the project to the teachers
and non-teaching employees who will act as family/team advisers.
To observe fair and objective appraisal of entries in the cited recycling competition, non-
teaching employees who do not belong to any family/team will be requested to serve as judges.

IX. End of Project Outputs

Families/teams in School’s Intramurals would be persuaded to create their best recyclable

materials - made stationary robots since their outputs will not only be utilized for school-based
sports event but also to promote recycling as a means to lessen the recyclable wastes being
disposed and to intensify the implementation of school solid waste management program.
By making environment-friendly robots, they would be able to partake in supporting the
“Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000” and the “Environment Code of Municipality
of Socorro, Oriental Mindoro”.

X. Persons Involved/Key Players

The project proponent will be the focal person of Project Recyclobots Olympiad.

Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH) Department

Agnes J. Bumacod, Ed.D., Assistant Principal II

Loreto S. Labrador, Principal IV

XI. Expected Final Outcomes/Success Indicators

One hundred percent (100%) of the families/teams in School’s Intramurals would

participate in Project Recyclobots Olympiad. After being used for School’s Intramurals, recyclable
materials - made robots of families/teams will be displayed in selected areas of school to remind
the students, teachers, non-teaching employees, and other members of the community that with
keen desire to support the “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000” and the
“Environment Code of Municipality of Socorro, Oriental Mindoro”, unity of members of school
community, and spark of creativity, they can offer significant contribution for the welfare of
environment.
XII. Schedule of Implementation

Submission and appraisal of entries for Project Recyclobots Olympiad will be held at
Leuteboro National High School Gymnasium on August 16, 2018 and awarding of major and
consolation prizes will be held on August 18, 2018 in the same stated venue.

XIII. Budgetary Requirement

The source of budget for the making of entry for Project Recyclobots Olympiad will be
the fund of each family/team for School’s Intramurals. Major and consolation prizes for the said
recycling competition will be personally provided by the project proponent through solicitation.
Since Project Recyclobots Olympiad is a sole project proposal initiated by the
undersigned proponent and would only be requested to become part of 2018 School’s
Intramurals, the project proponent will ensure that the name of school, other teachers, non-
teaching employees, or students will not be used during solicitation for major and consolation
prizes even if the target beneficiaries are the families/teams in School’s Intramurals.
Moreover, the project proponent will guarantee that all cash obtained through solicitation
for Project Recyclobots Olympiad will only be used as major and consolation prizes for the
participants.

XIV. Sustainability of the Project

The Project Recyclobots Olympiad would become part of the annual implementation of
LNHS projects to ensure its sustainability and to continuously support the “Ecological Solid
Waste Management Act of 2000” and the “Environment Code of Municipality of Socorro,
Oriental Mindoro”.
