Guide lines for project drawing for Mechanical Engineering

1. Paper should be either A-3 Size with printing mode landscape or A-4 Size with
printing mode portrait with suitable orientation of drawing.
2. Boarder Margin: Left 37.5 mm (1.5”), right, top and bottom 10 mm for all.
3. Title block should be as per sample provided.
4. Complete system assembly drawing with part list should be kept in first page and part
system assembly. Part number should be given respectively.
5. Part /detail drawing should be kept after part assembly drawing, try to include more
than one part drawing as per space available.
6. Use same orthographic projection for all part drawing and symbolize on title block.
7. Use sectional view, removed section or others as per requirement.
8. On part drawing, it is not necessary to show the drawing of standard components
(Bearing, Nut, bolt, washer, standard belt/pulley, chain, sprocket and so others).
9. Use broken lines on 2D drawings having high dimensional ratio of two views (on two
views of shaft).
10. Use symbols for welding, roughness, fit and tolerances and geometrical tolerances as
per requirement.
11. Follow the general rules for text and dimensioning as in machine drawing.
