INTRODUCTION

I sorted my theories by the episodes they apply to, starting with some general theories, then
episode-specific ones. Then I finish with some small future predictions and some detailed
'sample' scenarios, which combine some of my theories into one story. I went with the
'quantity instead of quality' approach that I've been taught by Battler and Ange in episode 4.
If you think that's a cop-out, you can check out the rating system below which I applied to
each theory. The one's I strongly believe in and are my 'official' predictions and have 4/5 or
5/5 on my seriousness scale. They are also color-coded for your convenience!

1/5 = I barely believe in the theory myself, but wanted to throw it out there, just in case.
2/5 = I think it is unlikely, but I won't be surprised if there is a little bit of truth to it.
3/5 = A theory that I think could be at least partially true, but I am not entirely convinced.
4/5 = A theory I believe in. It may not be perfect, but my instinct says I'm onto something.
5/5 = The absolute and undeniable truth. Might as well be written in red. Deal with it!

For most of my theories I used the following assumptions and methods of logic. I applied a
'perception filter' to everything I saw on-screen. This means, I considered the
trustworthiness of each character who witnessed the events: Shannon, Kanon, Genji and
Nanjo's testimonies are generally regarded as suspicious, while I only really trust the things
Battler has seen with his own eyes, since I am taking his side in this conflict. Events that
result in each character who was present dying are also not trusted. This doesn't mean that I
dismiss everything that has been shown, but I try to determine how much of it is plausible
and how much isn't, and what it could mean if it was meant symbolically. Kind of like how
the 'pitfalls' could have been just a feeling that came from a drug. Or the golden threads
could be a gun with a very high calibre. The same methods apply to the observation of the
general timeline. My initial efforts were very focused on finding motivations for possible
culprits, not so much the closed room mysteries themselves.

My end goal of these theories is to prove that magic was not involved in the murders of
Rokkenjima. I fully accept the time loop and 'meta game' itself as magical, as it is necessary
for this game to even take place. However, I deny that the murder case cannot be explained
without magic. In short: The culprit(s) is/are human and the murders are possible to carry
out with means available to these humans! The farthest I am willing to go in my theories is
some pseudo science. Examples would be the existence of artificially created human life
(clones, homunculi), zombies, strange and unique diseases (like Hinamizawa Syndrome)
and ridiculous inventions (highly effective guns, other 'gadgets' to assist in the murder,
elaborate traps). Though the more of these will be used in the big reveal at the end, the more
pissed I'll be, since these are all some sort of cop-out, in my opinion. But one or two of them
can be totally fine, if they are well explained and fit in thematically. (Like they did in
Higurashi for the most part) And that's what I am trying to do here!

Disclaimer: While mostly complete, I did not think this through to the very end. Most notably
I am still very clueless about the events of EP 4.
ALL EPISODES
"ZEN ZEN DAME DA!" - 1/5
The 'objective' makes a complete 180 in the second half of the VN. You thought this was about
solving a bunch of mass murders? Well, too bad! Guess again! You won't figure out shit, because
this assumption was utterly false. I don't know what the real focus of the mystery could be, so if this
one's true, I officially lost. This can be combined with the "Battler is the Ultimate Evil" theory, so
that Beatrice becomes our new protagonist, or with a bunch of other theories. If my "Soon™"
theory (FUTURE EPISODE PREDICTIONS) turns out to be true, this could be its continuation. I
hope this one is false, that's where the low rating comes from.

"Maria the Creepy Clone" – 1/5

I had the theory a long time ago, but it makes a whole lot less sense now that we got more info on
Maria's and Rosa's past. Nonetheless, the explanation of Maria's strange and creepy behaviour we
have seen so far could have beenone gigantic red herring or only a small part of a bigger truth.
Maybe Rosa's hatred for her own daughter is based in the fact that she is not her real daughter... or a
real human, for that matter. (also see "Homunculi exist")

"Kumasawa killed Beatrice" – 1/5

I'll be honest: I forgot where I was going with this when I wrote down that theory title. But maybe
Rosa lied, and the way the old Beato died was different? Kumasawa may have been Kinzo's
mistress and was jealous of the young competition. (see "Punishing the Sinners") Maybe she is kept
around as a servant at minimum wage to repent for her sins? I don't know, this theory sucks ass.
Sorry.

"Battler Boned Beato" – 1/5

This doesn't work with historical Beatrice, since she died much earlier. But this works with a
theoretical mistress Beatrice that was still around years later. It also works with the "Kumasawa was
Beatrice" theory of EP 3. In which case, Battler boned Kumasawa. Eww. My theory says, that 12
year old Battler had sex with her... so he was raped, I guess. This could have been his sin, since this
family is fucked up beyond believe and could perhaps victim-shame young Battler. Or maybe his
sin was not mentioning it? I have to admit, I don't know whether I was going anywhere with this
theory or not. But it has a fun alliteration! And isn't that all that counts?

"Battler is Kinzo's son" – 1/5

Since Battler is not Asumu's child, why not say it now: He isn't Rudolf's child either. Since this
would make him a fifth sibling, his death would profit the others. And everyone else's death would
profit him! This theory could make for some interesting motives, but not much more. It also raises
the question 'Who is Battler's mom?' To which I can only say, Kinzo's unknown mistress X. Which
may or may not be Kumasawa. If you THEN combine that with my previous "Battler Boned Beato"
theory, the creep show is complete. But enough incest! On to better theories!

"When the Higurashi – I mean, the Uminekos Cry!" a.k.a. "Rokkenjima Syndrome" – 1/5
You could pretty much cut out and paste the big revelation of Higurashi into Umineko and it would
make a surprising amount of sense. An isolated place? Check. A disease that affects the behaviour
and perception of people and turns them into murderers? That would make total sense in this story.
Then why did I give it such a low rating on my scale? Because this would be literally the cheapest
reveal ever and I don't believe Ryukishi would bamboozle us like that. He managed to bamboozle
me plenty of times already without recycling his old content, so I have faith in a more original
revelation later on! (also check out "Beatrice is a Sickness")
"The λ-Files" – 1/5
The government did it! I am still lifting stuff from Higurashi, but sadly this one fits Umineko a lot
less. Not only is observing a remote island during a heavy storm a lot harder than observing a small
village, there have also been zero hints for this. No white vans and the uniformed people we saw
have been confirmed to not have been humans. This theory also only works if we introduce
something the government could be after. Some previous and following theories could deliver
explanations, but I don't really believe in those either – so all in all this is yet another entry that's
just mentioned as some sort of 'safety net' if my other theories fail.

"Battler the Psychopath" – 2/5

Battler is always among the very last people to die. We know that Battler commited a sin. A sin
which causes the death of everyone and is responsible for no one escaping. Since he was absent for
many years, his feelings of a familiar bond with everyone are probably the weakest. We see things
from his perspective. If he has a delusional mind, that doesn't mean much and explains why there's
no real hints for his own acts of murder. This one is closely related to "Battler is the Ultimate Evil".
As a matter of fact, I don't even know why I made the distinction between the two theories to begin
with. But I remember that there was a reason for it. Oh well.

"Battler is the Ultimate Evil" – 2/5

We all have sins. But do our sins cause the brutal deaths of many people? Well, I can't speak for
you, dear reader, but for most people that answer would be 'no'. You know what you call people
whose sins cause deaths all the time? Evil! Battler is evil! I don't quite remember how I wanted to
make the distinction between the "Battler the Psychopath" theory and this one, but let's say the other
one explains it with Battler's screwy mind and personality. This one explains it with a slightly more
supernatural or symbolic twist à la "Punishing the Sinners" theory. Maybe Battler is the means for
everyone else to overcome their sins? Real talk: I forgot why I had this theory. It's dumb. But I feel
like a twist involving Battler's personality or role in the story as the 'good guy' is actually somewhat
possible.

"X doesn't exist" – 2/5

Kinzo doesn't exist at the start of each game, yet we saw him talking and interacting with people in
every episode. If such a thing can be true, who says that the same trick can't be pulled off twice? I
have to admit, Kinzo's death status has been by far the easiest to explain. He was separated from
everyone in a secure place for the duration of most games or quickly died, and most contact with
other people was with his well-trusted servants. Of course they would lie on his behalf, even after
his death. But how could someone else also not exist? The truth is, I don't know. But I once
theorized that maybe everyone is pretending that someone is still around, even though they are
dead. Maybe George died and Eva had a mental breakdown. So now the whole family pretends like
George is still with them. Or maybe it's Battler himself? Or Jessica? Or Maria? I don't have a clue.
If this theory is true though and isn't denied by another red truth which lowers the amount of people,
all of the mysteries just got a lot easier to explain, since the unknown culprit X can be introduced
again!

"Battlorice" – 2/5
Battler is Beatrice's son. Since Beatrice may be Kumasawa (see the episode 3 theory), he could be
Kumasawa's son. Much like some other shit theories I had, this one isn't really grounded in
anything. But why was Battler chosen for this game? Perhaps because of their mother/son bond?
This could also be a part of the truth of Battler's sin, though it was said it had nothing to do with
her... so maybe only a small part.
"Beatrice is Kinzo's daughter" – 2/5
Like they speculated in episode 2 about visitor-Beatrice, there could be a secret fifth sibling that the
others don't know about. Maybe the young Beatrice that was kept in the second mansion was
Kinzo's daughter who then died? They already made my husbando dead, so maybe they will add
insult to injury by making him an incestuous pedophile. Since the denial of an additional person in
each of the timelines, this theory has become a lot less likely... but someone among the family
members could still be Kinzo's child. (see "Battler is Kinzo's son")

"Beatrice is an Alien" – 2/5

Initially I thought it was a clever way to get around the 'only 18/17 humans' truth, but then it was
said that only humans are responsible for the murders. But that only applies to episode 2, I think.
Then it was said, that Battler is 'all alone' in episode 4 at the end. That exludes aliens at a first
glance, but 'all alone' is pretty vague. What if she is an alien without a physical form? Or inhabiting
a different spatial dimension? At the very least this theory can apply to the other two episodes
without any further problems. It also brings sci-fi into the mix, since highly advanced, futuristic
alien technologies can be used to explain a lot of the strange occurences. There have been too few
hints though, for that theory to be very likely. To avoid clutter, even if Beatrice is not an alien, this
theory will double as my 'Science Fantasy' / 'Soft Sci-Fi' theory, by accounting for incredible
technology. Like my holodeck theory that I once had.

"Beatrice is a Sickness" – 2/5

Hang on, wasn't this already a theory? Like, the Rokkenjima Syndrome? Yes! But wait! There are
other sicknesses than Hinamizawa Syndrome and various medical conditions that affect the
behaviour and/or perceptions of people. This theory works particularly well with the last statements
of the last tea party. 'Battler is alone. Beatrice is not Battler. Yet Battler is killed by her.' This makes
perfect sense if Beatrice is streptococci. Or an allergic reaction. Or alcohol poisoning. Beatrice is
nothing more than an abstract way to describe the characters' health!

"Beatrice is an Emotion" – 2/5

Actually, more people can serve as symbols or incarnations for various emotions. (also see
"Punishing the Sinners"). But having Beato be an emotion can be a nice workaround to some red
truths. 'Battler was killed by Beatrice, yet he was all alone.' This makes sense if Beatrice is Sadness
or Anger. What if Battler got reckless and froze to death in the rain because of these emotions? Or
he drank too much because of his frustration and got alcohol poisoning? (also see "Beatrice is a
Sickness") This theory is backed by the large amount of time that was dedicated to exploring the
concepts of love, hatred, coping mechanisms, etc. in previous episodes.

"Beatrice is Electromagnetic Waves" – 2/5

Science strikes once again! Certain geographical locations are known for their strange
electromagnetic fields in real life. These can create various sensations in people, like hearing things
that don't exist, feeling things that don't exist, or making them uneasy. They can explain some of the
supernatural phenomena in real life, so why not also in Umineko? If Rokkenjima is such a place, it
might explain the strange perceptions or feelings of people that cannot be explained otherwise. And
if we accept that some of the people have mental health problems to begin with (most notably
Maria, Eva and Natsuhi) and some of them have been indoctrinated to believe in the supernatural,
the effect of electromagnetic waves would only enhance those symptoms. The general tension and
unease during the family conference could quickly turn into paranoia with a little 'boost' from
mother nature.
"Hotbox Theory" – 2/5
(copypasta from my reddit post) The 'Kinzo is a stoner' theory. The family conference happens at
the beginning of October. Since 02/10 is half of 04/20, Kinzo decided to blaze it. He uses the term
'alchemist' as a facade, he's nothing more than the world's biggest connoisseur of drugs. In an effort
to hotbox the entire mansion, he went to the boiler room and threw all of his drugs, including but
not limited to weed, shrooms, DMT and other psychoactive substances into the fire. The resulting
smoke formation caused a monsoon of liquid drugs to rain down during the conference. Either that,
or the weather patterns and atmospheric pressures kept the drug smoke hovering over Rokkenjima -
causing what the others perceive as clouds in the sky. That is also the reason why the seagulls didn't
cry - they were stoned out of their mind. Or their feeble animal bodies died of toxic shock because
they couldn't handle the dank kush. This explains all of the strange happenings as either
hallucinations, or the results of them killing each other during a bad trip. Maria is only 'possessed'
and enjoys their deaths because she is a child and can't handle all the toxins. She is suffering from
severe brain damage. We don't see any of the madness, because they are ALL on drugs - which
means that none of the other drugged people seem to behave strangely because of their own warped
perceptions. The time loop is only a fever dream Battler is having on the couch. There is nothing
supernatural about Umineko at all!

"Homunculi exist" – 3/5

Like I said in my introduction text, this one is pretty much as far as I am willing to suspend my
disbelief. Through the power of science (not magic!), it may be possible to create artificial human
life in the world of Umineko. If this is true, it will have a big impact on the 'only 18/17 humans'
truth, since homunculi would probably not be regarded as humans with that wording. This would
have drastic consequences for the murder mysteries, since they would be a lot easier to explain with
unknow culprits X or groups of homunculi. If homunculi exist, then the most probable contenders
are Genji, Shannon and Kanon – like it was said in their character bios. Slightly less probable would
be the fact that Battler and Maria are homunculi. Young historical Beatrice might be one as well,
and finally, we are able to introduce a visitor-Beatrice who is a homunculus as the culprit again.
Please note that this theory also encompasses clones, which I will regard as genetically identical
homunculi for the purpose of this theory.

"Nazi Nanjo" – 4/5

I only call him a nazi for the alliteration. While I have no idea about Nanjo's political views, he is
probably guilty of some things in most games! While he is certainly not the mastermind behind it
all, I suspect him of working closely with the servants, so whenever I suspect them in one of my
theories, consider him included in those suspicions as well. First of all, he is one of only two close
friends of the late Kinzo. Whatever grandiose plan the head of the Ushiromiya family had, he would
probably be in on it. Almost without a doubt he lied about Kinzo's health on purpose. He died very
late or even right in the end of all episodes, so he had plenty of opportunities to interfere in previous
murders or assist the culprit. He was the one who checked all the corpses and had chances to hide
keys on their bodies, or take them, for that matter. (like Kanon in episode 2 or the servants and
Kinzo in episode 3) Or lie about their cause or time of death to confuse the others. He could have
been an accomplice to Eva in episode 3 in that way, who he may have regarded as the new head of
the Ushiromiya family as well. He could have helped or could have BEEN the main culprit in
episode 4. Do we really know whether he died before or after the others? We don't! His 'innocent
old man' charade may have fooled others, but not me. In most episodes he is in on some secret plans
and helps carrying them out however he can. (also see my theories for the corresponding episodes)
"Punishing the Sinners" – 5/5
It is pretty much proven that the stakes that were used in the murders correspond to the sins of the
victims. In the few instances were that doesn't match up, some easy theories can be made to make
the connection, or it could be argued, that there was simply no other sin left that would fit better.
After all, the murderers are human! And humans aren't perfect. I already mentioned these at length
in the Discord chat, but I will mention some that I still remember: Fat people getting hit by
Gluttony, Rudolf hit by Lust, Jessica hit by Lust in EP 2, Kyrie hit by Envy, Natsuhi hit by Wrath,
Eva hit by Lust in EP 1. And a lot more fit, too! Now the question is, what do I make of that fact? I
postulate, that this means the murderer has knowledge of these sins. That in turn means, the
murderer must have been close to the victims in some way. Gohda probably wouldn't make for a
good suspect, since he wouldn't know the people that well. Even if the murderer doesn't know about
the sins that the different stakes represent, this could be a purely symbolic thing on the game board,
meaning it is intended for US, not the characters on the game board themselves. If this is not the
case however, another interesting deduction can be made: The culprit knows about the meaning of
the stakes or about the occult in general. Suddenly the servants who were taught well by Kinzo, as
well as Maria get a lot more suspicious. Rosa could have picked up a lot of things from her
daughter, perhaps they worked together to carry out murders? Krauss and Natsuhi might have
gotten their hands on some of their father's research to pull off authentic 'witch murders'. And Eva is
just damn smart and might know about it herself. This theory somewhat overlaps with "Beatrice is
an Emotion", a theory that could also be applied to other people. I am absolutely certain that the
stakes have meaning, but I am not entirely sure how much can be deduced from them and what
shouldn't. Whenever applicable, I will reference this theory in episode-specific theories.
EPISODE 1
"Rudolf is the Killer" – 1/5
Or rather, he wanted to be the killer. This theory explains his 'premonition' as some sort of fake
alibi. Because if he'd survive the fight with his siblings, who he wanted to murder, he could
reference his earlier statement. It's a pretty stupid idea to say such a thing in the first place though,
because it doesn't even make for an alibi, especially since he said it to his own family. I don't know
what I was thinking. Also he died, so that theory really doesn't prove much.

"Rudolph the Clairvoyant" – 1/5

An early theory of mine that contradicts my own goals in this game, since it relies on the
supernatural. I just thought I'd bring it up again. He knew that he would be murdered because of his
premonitions. He also had a prophecy concerning Battler's role in this game in the future, which is
why he called him 'Battler'. Because he needs to win in an epic 'battle' against the witch.

"Fertile Female Furniture Fucks Fancy Fellow For Fun" a.k.a. "Shannon the Slut" – 2/5
One of my earliest theories was an attempt to explain why Rudolf knew that he would get killed.
We know that Rudolf is quite the ladies' man. And a cheater. We also know that Shannon is bad at
saying 'no' and has a strong desire to love and be loved. Assume for a moment, that Shannon knew
of the impending first twilight. After all, she is one of the trusted servants and thus suspicious in my
eyes. In a very emotional moment, while she was riding Rudolf's magnum dong in the broom closet,
she might have let it slip that a mass murder was planned and Rudolf would be one of the victims.
Another thing that speaks for this theory, is that Rudolf was once murdered by Lust (because he
craves the OPPAI) and Shannon by Greed (because Rudolf just has that extra inch that George
doesn't have).

"Glass Kanon" – 2/5

Kanon's death was neither homicide, nor was it suicide. Everyone else has been given an alibi in red
for his death and it was also said that it was not an accident. The only remaining options are a
natural death, or a death because of some disease. (also see "Beatrice is a Sickness" of the general
theories) But what if Kanon is just a really frail weakling? It's a common trope to have the edgy
emo boy also be very vulnerable, so the reader wants to protect them even more. Yeah, that's all this
theory is really based on. Maybe he suffered from some sort of injury before, but by dying a good
while later it technically ceases to be homicide or an accident, since a normal person would have
easily survived. Not our Glass Kanon though. The red truth has been beaten by a technicality!

"Krauss Konspiracy" – 3/5

Krauss had money. All the money! If he really embezzled money, he could have used it for all kinds
of shenanigans – including setting up the most intricate mass murder contraptions or developing and
buying amazing weaponry. He also had plenty of time to do it. He lived on the island and thus could
observe the progress constantly and keep it hidden from the rest of the family. He could have
planned the execution of 'Beatrice Protocol' years in advance. As for motivations? Perhaps he saw
that his position as the successor was in danger, either because of the epitaph's riddle or because his
father really hates his guts. We also know that the love for his siblings wasn't all that great. It is
possible that Natsuhi could have been in on this plan as well, but probably not Jessica. The biggest
flaw in this theory is the fact that he immediately dies. This could lead into the "Natsuhi goes Nuts"
theory, in which she carries out the rest of the plan to avenge her husband and make sure the
mission is a success. The Krauss Konspiracy also might involve one or more of the servants who
belong to his 'faction' in this conflict. Another bit that speaks for this theory is Kinzo's death. Surely
Krauss would have noticed if his father was dead, but for some reason he hid that fact... that reason
being the Krauss Konspiracy.
"The Closed Room of the Second Twilight" – 4/5
(see my episode 1 write-up, which I wrote first) Kanon and Kumasawa were the one's who opened
this closed room. If one of the windows was not locked, the culprit could have gotten out there
earlier. The sight of two gruesomely killed corpses distracted Kumasawa long enough so she didn't
notice Kanon locking said window. Only when he did that and in combination with the previously
broken chain lock from before, a seemingly 'closed room' was created. This theory assumes that
Kanon is at the very least an accomplice.

"Eva is the Killer" – 4/5

This theory applies to the first twilight only. As it was mentioned even by the characters, the results
of the first twilight were very advantageous to her. Her entire family was still intact and she would
have become the next successor. The fact that the key to the tool shed was returned back to the
servants room was her attempt to blame them, or by extension, the witch. Because a witch wouldn't
have needed a key in the first place. Her alibi is provided by her husband, so it is the weakest one of
them all. They both don't have an alibi, so Hideyoshi could have been her accomplice who carried
the corpses and maybe even helped in the murders themselves. The bloody handprints on Natsuhi's
door can be explained by her first murdering the rest, then stepping down from her plan to murder
Natsuhi when she saw her charm. This was a miscalculation on her part. She thought sparing her
life would further shift the suspicion on the witch, but didn't think that she herself would be killed.
This fact could also make all of the children and all of the servants suspicious, since they should
know at least that much about the occult symbol. Either they heard it from Maria or from Kinzo,
who has the symbol on his doorhandle. We could also assume that George is an accomplice. I won't
write these down as a separate theory, but enough clues are strewn about to be at least somewhat
suspicious of the entire family of Eva, and George is no exception. It's just that their plan was
thwarted early on.

"Natsuhi goes Nuts" – 5/5

It is very likely that Natsuhi acted similarly to how Eva acted in episode 3. Though we were not
shown that she had a witch in her heart, she had constant headaches. Her conversation with Kinzo
might have been a fabrication of her delusional mind, or she just flat out lied to the others. Either
way, it represents the way she thinks of herself as being superior. She thinks that she is the one fit
for being the successor and not the others like Eva. Speaking of Kinzo's successors, not only did
Krauss hide a lot from her (the existence of the gold), she was also heavily bullied by Eva. Under
these circumstances it is more than understandable that she'd lose her cool. In a future episode she is
killed by Wrath, further supporting this theory. The most obvious sign of her being the culprit is the
fact that she survives right until the very end. Only the kids outlive her by a bit, so these last
murders must have a different explanation. But the one's before were murders fueled by feelings of
anger. The handprints on her own doorhandle were left by herself, because she forgot to wash her
hands after killing the others in gruesome ways, or didn't do it properly. This is actually the biggest
hint at her being the culprit. A less likely explanation would be, that she left the blood traces there to
distract from herself being the culprit. Since a charm was hung from her door handle, she could
have used it to blame the witch, who did not manage to enter her room because of it. At the very
least she is likely to be the culprit of the first twilight and definitely likely to be the culprit of the
second twilight. It is also somewhat likely that she had the support of at least one of the servants.
EPISODE 2
"Beato is Kinzo" – 2/5
I think this is an early theory that has been disproven. No idea what I thought when I came up with
that title. Perhaps that the 'visitor-Beatrice' convinced the others that she was the successor? That
would actually make some sense! (also see "Rosa is Beatrice")

"Genji is Kinzo" – 3/5

Or rather, Genji is the successor. He and 'Kinzo' survived until the very end and if the "The Servants
are the Wolves" theory can be trusted, then he would be the leader of the bunch. Maybe he is
carrying out the last wish of his old master?

"The Closed Room of the First Twilight" – 3/5

(written as a continuation of "Rosa is Beatrice") The mystery can be solved thusly: We know that
the key was inside the envelope continuously, without interruption. But when was the key inside in
the first place? Or rather, when was the envelope 'created'? This is not so clear, as Maria is the only
one who knows this for certain. And she's a delusional, lying sack of shit. The red truths have a
small loop hole that allows for some trickery in that regard. Another possibility is, that the servants
only said that the chapel was locked. This not only gets a bit wonky in terms of the wording of the
truths about the chapel, but it also assumes that Rosa, Kanon, Shannon, Gohda and Genji are all in
on it. That's a very large group of suspects, and that would make things way too easy to explain.
Thus that would be a cop-out. That's why I think the key is key. The red truth CAN be evaded,
though it's neither flawless nor pretty. But it's the best guess I have at the moment.

"The Servants are the Wolves" – 4/5

The servants are acting so suspicious that even the characters in the story start to notice. Kumasawa
and Nanjo (who I will consider an ally of the servants in this scenario) die pretty late into the
episode, pretty much right at the end, which means that they could have been helping with earlier
murders or covering for Genji as well. Speaking of Genji, he is the main suspect in this scenario!
Whether he has been acting out Kinzo's last dying wish, was working with another family member
or just did his own thing: He definitely had at least some support from at least some of the other
servants. Genji is one of those who makes it to the very end of the game, so we can assume that his
mission was a success. Genji was the one who later found Nanjo's and Kumasawa's corpses. That
immediately makes him suspicious as well. The whole 'fake-Kanon' scenario can be easily
explained if the whole bunch of them stick together and fabricate a lie. Gohda seemed to be the one
who was by far the most shaken. It is possible that he just caved in under the pressure and lied about
seeing Kanon as well. Gohda definitely is the servant who's the least loyal to Kinzo or whoever the
current 'leader' of the servants is. Maybe he was lured with the promise of gold? This perfectly
bypasses the red truths concerning the Kanon situation. Kanon's corpse was hidden in the first place
to make him seem more suspicious and distract from the other servants. The group with Shannon
later completely died as well. It was either the work of Genji who stalked them, or an internal fight
broke out. Perhaps Shannon locked the door before the fight and after finishing Gohda and George
she killed herself.
"Rosa is Beatrice (and also the Killer)" – 5/5
Rosa, Maria, Kyrie and the three most suspicious servants were the only witnesses who saw visitor-
Beatrice, if we choose to not believe the short chapel scene, after which all other witnesses died
anyway. If we assume that Rosa was pretending to be the mysterious woman who visited the family
conference, she could have easily fooled Maria. Her daughter believes her to be possessed by an
evil witch from time to time, so it's believable that she could believe her to be possessed by Beatrice
as well. Rosa herself was of course simply lying, so were the servants. Gohda and Kumasawa didn't
actually meet her in person. If Rosa is working together with Genji who may have accepted her as
the new family head, the murder mysteries become very easy to solve. They just had to pretend to
be at odds and to suspect each other and keep that act up until the end, in which Rosa, Maria and
Genji are still alive. The only problem here is Kyrie. Could she have been fooled by a simple
disguise? Who knows. I am going to say yes. The only other option would be, that she was in on it
as well, but was then betrayed by Rosa in the first twilight. Perhaps a similar 'deal' was made like
between Rosa and Eva in episode 3. Rosa told her 'Just bear with me and tell the others at dinner
that you saw a mysterious woman going upstairs' and Kyrie played along just long enough until she
was killed herself, because she was curious to see where Rosa was going with that.
Once again we can also make a connection to Eva's behaviour in episode 3. Eva was possessed by
an evil witch, or that is what we are led to believe. Does that sound familiar? Of course it does!
Now think of that short scene in the chapel. Everyone who was present in the chapel ended up dead.
Every sibling who might have become the successor before Rosa is now gone, but she miraculously
survived. If that doesn't sound suspicious, I don't know what does! And remember what was written
on the chapel door? Happy Halloween for Maria. Her plan to become the new family head and
finally lead the life she always wanted was a present to her daughter. Whether it was a twisted
alternate personality that took over or she is just really good at putting up a shocked and disgusted
act, this theory makes sense. Maria could have been an accomplice in this scenario, or at least give
her the knowledge required to make the murders seem supernatural. The first twilight was
discovered by the servants who immediately contacted Rosa, so once again, they are suspicious too.
The mystery of the locked chapel can also be explained rather easily if we assume the involvement
of the servants, but I will cover that in another theory for this episode.
EPISODE 3
"George is a Confidant" – 3/5
Hideyoshi being an Accomplice to Eva is pretty much confirmed in my eyes (see the other
theories), but what about George? I don't think he actively helped in any of it, but chances are he
was maybe aware of their plans and just kept his mouth shut. It's hard to prove or disprove, but it
would be a very good reason for him to get killed later. Maybe when he saw the corpse of his
beloved Shannon was when he reached his breaking point and no longer wanted to keep silent. He
couldn't bear to witness any more murders and got in his mother's way, which is why he had to be
killed.

"Killer Kyrie (and 'Reck-it-Rudolf)" - 3/5

Kyrie's idea of 'confronting' Hideyoshi might include killing him in the process. Maybe the two of
them had enough of his bad lies, or maybe Hideyoshi himself initiated the attack on the two of
them. (see "Hideyoshi is an Accomplice"). It doesn't matter, because it is very possible that a fight
between the three of them ensued. Maybe they fatally wounded Hideyoshi, who killed them
instantly in return. Then Hideyoshi died shortly after. Or maybe exactly the opposite happened.
Whether someone dies instantly or not is also a matter of luck, so it is very likely that these tree
persons quite literally killed each other. Perhaps Hideyoshi brought demonic stakes to a gun fight
and gave all of their deaths the finishing touches. Kyrie was staked in the stomach, because it was
her suggestion to go get food from the mansion. The fight with the demon sisters in which Rudolf
and Kyrie win can be seen as a symbolic representation of this theory. Symbolism checks out!

"Kumasawa was Beatrice" – 4/5

More specifically, she was the silver-haired woman who shares her looks with the witch we know as
predecessor-Beatrice or Virgilia. She was a servant and knew the historical Beatrice, or more
specifically, the golden-haired girl in the hidden mansion. This is flat out said/implied by Beatrice.
Of course that makes this not very credible, but even a compulsive liar tells the truth some of the
times. And it doesn't have to be red to be true! Another thing speaking for this theory, is that
Kumasawa is still kept around as a servant after all these years, even though she is not nearly as
reliable or enthusiastic about her work as the others. That can explain a strong personal connection
between Kinzo and her. (also see "Kumasawa killed Beatrice" of the general theories. I also talk
about Kumasawa in some other shitty theories that are all the way up there)
"Milk is the Killer" – 4/5
The biggest mystery of episode 3 is Nanjo's death. 'It was homicide which was caused by a weapon
that was used right in front of him. He looked the killer straight in the eyes.' But this mystery is
laughably easy if you realize that poison is also a weapon! We know that Kinzo is already dead
from the very beginning, so my admittedly pretty bad theory of him poisoning him during a match
of chess is gone. But there were plenty of opportunities to poison him from the beginning of the
game to his death! Most notably in the guesthouse, when he drank osbcene amounts of coffee. If we
interpret the red truths in a way that denies Jessica, Eva and Battler to be the culprits not only in his
last moments, but also retroactively, then someone else must have poisoned him. Maybe it was
Krauss or Natsuhi, who suspected him of working with Eva. Or maybe it was George or Hideyoshi,
who actually did work for Eva. To clarify: Looking Nanjo in his eyes while pouring what seems to
be either milk, sugar or sweetener (or any combination of those) into his coffee would comply with
all the red truths. It was a poison that took time to take effect, but then killed him or incapacitated
him pretty quickly later on. If we are a very generous on how we read the red truths, Eva could still
be the one who poisoned him. Since I can't come up with any other good similar ideas for 'timed
murders', especially those who are not traps, you can also take this theory and insert into other
episodes. The three deaths in the parlor in episode 1 can be explained with Milk Theory, for
example. Or some of the deaths in episode 4. I do not mention this theory there again because I am
lazy, but keep it in mind! And if I did come up with a better 'timed murder' theory, just imagine that
one replacing all of those instances.

"Eva is the Killer" – 5/5

If this one ends up being short, it's only because the VN itself did enough work for me already. One
of the less obvious hints for Eva pulling the strings are the fact that Hideyoshi was staked in the
chest, which could symbolize his heartbreak at dying by his own wife's hands. The most obvious
signs for this theory are that Rudolf and Kyrie were suspecting the same thing and probably wanted
to confront Hideyoshi (see "Hideyoshi is an Accomplice"). Also, the fact that Rosa's gun hasn't been
used but was also left there. In the discussion about the fact that Rosa must have known the attacker
closely, Eva is the one who suggests that that isn't true without giving a proper reason. She has no
good alibis, except for the murder of Dr. Nanjo in the end. She is established to be one crazy and
hateful bitch. She is incredibly envious of Krauss' position as the future successor. As for the closed
rooms of the first twilight, I explain them in a separate theory. Her motives don't really need an
explanation, but especially the death of Rosa, Krauss and Natsuhi add up perfectly with this theory.
She most likely had support from her husband who gave her an alibi.

"The Closed Rooms of the First Twilight" – 5/5

The culprit can be found among the 'search party' that checked all of the rooms, which formed one
big closed room when seen together. The culprit took one master key for themselves, which he/she
used to lock all the doors. Then, when investigating the corpse of said room that had a missing
master key, the key was placed there via sleight of hands. The key was not taken from Shannon,
since her room was easily accessible from the outside via the windows. As the room that is most
likely to be investigated first, everyone in the search party would have been on high alert and
looked out for suspicious behaviour in the others. So the key was hidden somewhere 'deeper into
the loop', in a room that was difficult to access without the key from a previous room. Prime suspect
for this is Nanjo, who we can assume thoroughly checked for life signs and the causes of death. His
big fat belly is perfect to hide his hand movements behind it, when he places a key. But we can also
very safely assume that Eva casually put the key there and pretended to find it at any point. It's at
least by far the least risky gamble one can take in this murder game. I think the keys were all in
envelopes? Slippin a key into an envelope unnoticed should be easy enough.
"Hideyoshi is an Accomplice" – 5/5
Hide your Yoshis, hide your wives! A killer is on the loose! It is all but confirmed that Hideyoshi
gave his wife an alibi, even though he knew she at least COULD have been the murderer. That
alone makes him an accomplice in my eyes. If he knew about her murderous tendencies for certain,
that makes him an accomplice in every sense of the word. He also could have been directly
responsible for the deaths of Rudolf and Kyrie. (already covered in "Killer Kyrie" earlier). This
theory is also pretty well explained in the VN already, so bear with me if this is a bit short.
EPISODE 4
"Mommy Kyrie" – 2/5
If Asumu is not Battler's mom, then Kyrie could be his mom. Kyrie said otherwise in episode 3, but
once again this could either be a timeline-specific change, a 'fantasy conversation' that did not
happen exactly like that, or a misunderstanding on her part. Or it hinted at something else: What if
Asumu had the miscarriage and Kyrie gave birth to Battler, yet Battler was accepted into the
Ushiromiya family and Kyrie was not? Considering they are all a bunch of douchebags, this makes
perfect sense. Or what if the 'original' Battler died during childbirth? Thus this second-born guy
took on the name of Battler to replace him, so to speak.

"Battler's Death" – 2/5

- either a sickness, emotion... or Kyrie did it. How? I dunno.

"The Closed Room of the Ninth Twilight"

I actually didn't have a theory. Fooled ya!

"Killer Kyrie" – 3/5

Who was among those who survived the longest? It was Kyrie of course. We already know of her ill
feelings towards the entire Ushiromiya family. She was once killed by Greed. She is jealous of the
other family's and is reminded of her awful past whenever she sees Battler. In short: She's probably
just as screwed up in the head as every aunt and mother in this family. How does that make her a
killer? I don't know. But she talked extensively on the phone when they were 'imprisoned' and if we
assume that she's part of the conspiracy, then we can't trust anything she said. But Krauss and the
others also talked on the phone, you might say. Yes, but if Kyrie was the one in a position of power,
they might have just said what Kyrie forced them to say. Her own death can be explained with a
second culprit, or one of the others killing her after escaping from her, or suicide. The fantastical
weapon that can blow off entire chunks of the head is a shotgun with slug ammo. Kyrie was either
amazingly precise, or drugged them beforehand so she could take her time aiming. She was toying
with the children on the phone later on because she's a sadistic bitch.

"X is Kinzo" – 3/5

I am actually absolutely certain that someone must have been accepted as the successor of Kinzo or
taken on his name. But I can't come up with a satisfactory explanation on who it could be, other
than listing the obvious examples. I also dealt with this in "Krauss Konspiracy 2". That's why I gave
this theory a lower rating. Here a short list of my suspicions. Krauss: Because he was always
considered the successor. Maybe he could show them a convincing will from Kinzo. Eva: Because
of her 'official' story in episode 3. Maybe Kinzo really DID have a change of heart and gave her the
solution to the epitaph's puzzle at some point. Genji: Because he was Kinzo's best buddy and
supposed to fulfill his very last request with the help of Shannon and Kanon – to fuck over his
terrible family members for being douche canoes.

"Kannon and Shannon are the Culprits" – 3/5

Because fuck those two.

"Krauss Konspiracy 2: Magic Boogaloo" – 4/5

He was THIS close to getting his money snatched away. He survived almost the longest. His helpers
are maybe nanjo, maybe the servants. Genji played the bad guy BT HE WAS DEADwho murdered
the last few people? Kyrie still? Someone was the new acknowledged Kinzo and someone else was
PISSED about it. Sickness theory.
FUTURE EPISODES STORY PREDICTIONS
"Soon™" - 3/5
Large parts of the mysteries will be solved before we get to the end. Episode 5 will contain some
answers already and episode 6 will clear up a lot more of them. This will be done in order to focus
on other story threads, like maybe the personal stories of the various characters. Or this will be the
point where one of my other theories takes effect. (see "Battler is the Ultimate Evil" or "ZEN ZEN
DAME DA" of my ALL EPISODES theories)

"Emo Orphans" – 3/5

We will get to see Shannon's and Kanon's upbringing, how they became so close to each other and
how their personalities were formed. We will see how they were trained to become Kinzo's most
trusted servants, after Genji of course. Since Shannon has been serving the Ushiromiya household
for quite a while, some things might be cleared up, like how she 'knew Ronove'.

"<See you again!>" - 4/5

Since a huge amount of time in episode 4 was spent on introducing, characterizing and even
developping the character Ushiromiya Ange a.k.a. Gretel, it is logical to assume that her 'death' is
not permanent. Her 'real' self may have died in the future, but her 'meta' self may come back again.
Who knows whether death is really permanent in this crazy meta dimension? Plus we had lots of
characters on the witch's side in the game – Ronove, Virgilia, Gaap... - so having a permanent ally
for Battler with a different style of thinking and helping him out from time to time would be
interesting. Plus I really love Ange.

"Medieval Times" – 4/5

There will be an episode which plays partially during Medieval Times. It will feature an ancestor of
Beatrice, the first one of her name. She will be the family alchemist to some rich dude or count in
Europe. Maybe it will be revealed that said rich dude is also an ancestor of Kinzo and Battler, and
he'll look like one of them. This part of the episode will focus on some more details of witchcraft,
but it will also be a character piece on Beato – even if it's technically a different incarnation. Plus it
will maybe be sappy and all about love.

"Kinzo and Beatrice" – 5/5

There will be a long flashback part in a future episode, maybe even as long as all the Ange stuff in
episode 4. It will feature a younger Kinzo, maybe even younger versions of his children, but
primarily the Beatrice who lived in the secret mansion. If this one comes true, chances for a
medieval segment are a bit lower, because there'd be too much overlap I think... In this Kinzo and
Beatrice flashback, their feelings for each other will be explored and we'll probably learn that they
were pretty one-sided. They will probably bring up the talk about homunculi again. It will also
feature the predecessor-Beatrice a.k.a. Virgilia again who will be characterized more. This will also
be the time when we learn that she's really Kumasawa, if that is the case.

"Bamboozled again!" - 5/5

I feel like it's a cheap thing for me to say, but I fully predict to have something unpredictable
happening in the future that I didn't see coming. I've been bamboozled big time almost every
episode and curveballs pop up all the damn time. I kind of mentioned theories fitting that scheme in
my general theories, but I don't really believe in those specific examples. I fully believe that
Ryukishi will manage to bamboozle me at least twice in the remaining episodes though!
AND THIS IS HOW IT ALL HAPPENED
I will combine some of my most likely theories and try to tell the story of the murders how they
could have happened. Note that these stories are not my final answer, but rather an attempt to create
one big picture that makes sense. There might as well be some stuff from my other theories that
could apply instead. Enjoy!

PS: The longer this went on, the lazier I got. Sorry for not powering through!
PPS: I actually gave up. Welp. But episode 1's write-up is complete!

EPISODE 1

It is the week before the annual family conference. Krauss relaxes in a chair in the parlor, drinking
tea with his wife Natsuhi. Before them on the table lies a folder labeled "Beatrice Protocol". Their
plans are finally about to come to fruition! Long years of planning were necessary and the
preparations were not inexpensive. But Ushiromiya Kinzo has been dead for a while now and they
had access to all the money they ever needed. But Krauss' siblings were vultures. The game they
were playing was a dangerous one. They knew of the dangers, but in their pride they did not realize,
that the other siblings weren't slacking off either... but the Krauss family had the servants on their
side. Genji has sworn his undying loyalty to the new successor, Ushiromiya Krauss. Kanon and
Shannon begrudgingly went along with their devious plans as well. They are furniture after all.
Only three more days until the conference... A storm is coming...

As Eva stepped off the boat and set foot on Rokkenjima, she smiled. The smile wasn't directed at
any of the other family members. No, it was in inward smile. A smile directed at the witch within
her very own heart. Hideyoshi gave his wife a worried glance. But then he shook his head, and with
it vanished any and all doubts. He would support his wife no matter what! It was decided they
would take over the Ushiromiya family! His beloved wife has solved the epitaph. The only key to
become the successor is to murder... no, to kill. This was necessary! There was nothing devious
about it. The future of the Ushiromiya line depended on them. "Tonight you'll die, Baka-Krauss", is
what Eva muttered under her breath, as they approached the steps leading up to the mansion.

Some time after lunch, Kyrie had been wondering where her husband went. "He's probably smoking
somewhere again", she thought and didn't think much about it. But when Ruolf vanished into the
broom closet with Shannon, there was someone who noticed. That someone was Natsuhi, who has
been wandering around the mansion, trying to forget her headache that continually grew worse ever
since last year... ever since they started planning this ceremony. She was close to her breaking point.
After listening to the sweet moans of Shannon and Rudolf and getting her panties all wet because
Krauss could never satisfy her like that, she decided to leave. Shannon was no longer a reliable
pawn in their plans for this night. She had to notify Krauss! Krauss would take care of her and make
sure that she wouldn't spill anything. But it was too late. "Something horrible will happen
tonight...", whispered Shannon into Rudolfs ear. "What is it, babe?", responded the old horndog,
who already thought about the next opportunity to cheat with his wife. "You will all be murdered by
Genji and Krauss." And then she proceeded to tell him about Krauss' evil plans. Rudolf only half-
heartedly believed it, but would later let his wife and son, just in case.

Later that day, Natsuhi had caused quite the uproar with a certain letter she had prepared for a while
now. It was all part of the "Beatrice Protocol". Of course the mentally challenged child of Rosa
wouldn't see through her own laughable disguise she used in the rose garden. She believed every lie
that she was fed! Krauss would take care of the rest this night, when she would already have went to
bed. Krauss had already changed the time table for the servants, so he could make sure that nothing
would interfere with his plans and Shannon would be isolated. When the time was right, he would
strike. It was all discussed with Genji beforehand. Krauss counted the sacrifices for the first
twilight: Rudolf, Kyrie, Eva, Hideyoshi, Rosa and Shannon who was serving tea in the parlor. Six
people. Perfect! But when Eva made the first move beforehand, no one was prepared. She counted
the sacrifices as well: Krauss, Rudolf, Kyrie, Rosa, Shannon. One was missing... "I'll kill that whore
Natsuhi in her sleep", she thought to herself. As the furious discussion about the inheritance
problem went on, with most of them putting up a facade, Eva and her husband decided to strike.
SNAP! Eva grabbed Rudolf's head while he was looking at Krauss and snapped his neck with one
swift motion. His vigilance was misdirected at Krauss, he never saw his true enemy coming from
behind. BANG! Hideyoshi, who had drawn a Glock from a hidden holster, put a bullet right into
Krauss' head. As Rosa and Shannon were frozen in fear, Kyrie jumped from her seat. But Eva was
to quick. She roundhouse kicked her, so she was smashed into the wall. Quickly, Hideyoshi aimed
at Shannon. BANG! Then at Rosa. BANG! They were taken care of. Eva approached the barely
conscious Kyrie. "DIE, BIIIIITCH!!!" She smashed her high heel into Kyrie's forehead and with a
sickening crunch the fifth sacrifice was made. Eva took out a sharp knife and went to work on the
corpses faces, cackling like a madwoman in the process. Hideyoshi felt nauseous. "Eva, dear, we
must still find a sixth sacrifice. Let me take care of the rest." Eva quickly wiped only some of the
blood off her hands, took the master key off of Shannon's corpse, then she left the parlor. She snuck
towards Natsuhi's bedroom. After leaning against the door, listening for noises inside, she slowly
and carefully unlocked it and peeked inside. She was asleep. Eva wanted to carefully close the door
again, but noticed the magical charm on the door handle, which was given to her by Jessica earlier.
"Damn, this is a protective charm... a witch couldn't get past it. But this is my chance! If I back off
now, Baka-Natsuhi might even start believing the culprit is a witch!", she thought to herself. She
quietly left the room again and locked it, leaving behind some bloody fingerprints. She met up with
Hideyoshi again, who already desecrated all the corpses to make it look like the work of an evil
witch. After a short discussion, they headed for the servants room. Inside, they surprised a Sudoku-
solving Gohda and killed him as well. They took the tool shed's key that was stored there and
Hideyoshi, who is proficient at carrying heavy things, carried two corpses on his shoulder to the
way there. It took him three hauls to transport the corpses. After everything was done, Eva painted a
magical circle on the tool shed. Everyone would think the witch did it! "Now let's take a shower and
go to bed. There's still plenty of work for us to do tomorrow!", said Eva. Hideyoshi agreed and the
headed back to the mansion, returned the key of the shed to make the servants seem more
suspicious, and locked themselves in their bedroom.

The next day happened. Tears were shed and despite her best efforts, Eva was among the suspects.
Why did only her family not suffer from any losses? If the servants did it, why would they return
the only key to their room? And if both husband and wife were together since they left the
conference early, as they say, that does not count as an alibi. Even Natsuhi realized that. Eva made
jokes about it, but she couldn't fool her instincts. Natsuhi had been talking to Genji, too. They were
still planning on carrying out "Beatrice Protocol". After all, even with Krauss gone, isn't Natsuhi the
most appropriate successor now? She truly convinced herself of that. If Kinzo was still alive, he
might have seen the potential in her as well! Plus she was told that the gold is real after all! When
the second twiligt came, Eva and Hideyoshi were in their rooms. Genji and Kanon were ready to
carry out Natsuhi's plans. Genji climbed through the open window of their room while Eva was
resting on the bed. Genji's throwing knife made short and quiet process of Eva. He then surprised
Hideyoshi in the shower, who did not have his gun with him to defend himself. He killed him as
well. After the deed was done, he prepared the corpses, took Hideyoshi's gun, put up the door chain
and climbed back out the window. He couldn't lock it from the outside, but just shutting it would
suffice. He met back up with Kanon. While Nanjo and Genji, who were in on "Beatrice Protocol"
painted the appropriate magical circle, Kanon and Kumasawa came back with the pliers and cut the
chain of the 'closed room'. As the first ones to enter the room, Kumasawa was too shaken to notice
Kanon quickly locking the window. This was now officially a closed room! But the exhaustion from
running so much weakened poor, frail Kanon. He couldn't keep this up for much longer... especially
since only a bit earlier that day, he had been preparing Kinzo's corpse to be found in the boiler
room. It would take a while before the stench would have dispersed in the mansion.

Later that day, Kanon would die because of exhaustion. The stress of carrying out these murders
weakened him, and since he already had a heart condition, he couldn't carry on any longer. With all
of his remaining strength, he did the last act of a loyal servant and impaled himself with a stake in
the chest. His death was not a suicide and it wasn't an accident either, he died of natural causes.

((I forgot that Maria definitely wasn't the murderer, but I am leaving the next paragraph in anyway. I
will insert a shitty alternate solution))

When 'suspicion' finally fell on the servants while they were holed up in the study, Genji, Nanjo,
Kumasawa and Maria had to leave. Natsuhi was certain that Genji and Nanjo could take care of the
old lady and the young child. After all, Genji even had Hideyoshi's gun with him! ((But Maria
noticed the well-hidden pistol and was outraged! Were these murders not carried out by a witch
after all? Was it just an elaborate plan, crafted by humans? Impossible! With sleight of hands, she
managed to grab his pistol and killed the three others in the parlor.)) The three died because of a
slow poison that was administered to them earlier. The culprit was Krauss. On Genji's body she
found the three remaining stakes. "If I put them into their bodies, Beatrice will be proud of me! Uu-
uu!", cheered Maria, as she carefully carried out the next three twilights in accordance with the
epitaph. She put the pistol back on Genji's corpse. "Beatrice is real, uu-uu! Now I only have to
convince the others! They have to believe! Uu!" She quickly looked at the sheet of phone numbers
and called the study. Then she ran away from the phone and sang. This would surely convince them
that Beatrice came and carried out these murders!

When the others arrived at the parlor, no one would have blamed Maria for such a gruesome triple
murder. That's because she didn't do it! She just placed the stakes. While the children were in the
room, Natsuhi went outside to catch a break. What was happening? The poisoning was supposed to
take effect only later, after they took care of the rest. Krauss must have used a dosage that was too
high. Baka! Meanwhile, George found the pistol on Genji's body. He suspected some sort of Krauss
Konspiracy happening before, but now it was certain. Natsuhi is responsible for the death of his
parents! She needs to die! George hid the gun, and when the others broke out of the parlor, he shot
Natsuhi to death. In the ensuing chaos, all kids ended up dying at the hands of George, who finally
commited suicide because he lost all that was dear to him in life and couldn't live with the guilt.

EPISODE 2

(incomplete) Rosa was sick of being trampled upon by everyone in her life. She wanted to be free!
Free of the influence of the Ushiromiyas and free to do whatever in her personal life. And she
needed money! That's why she decided to take on the name of Beatrice and become the terror that
haunts Rokkenjima. Her stupid child Maria of course believed it when she talked as if she herself
was Beatrice. But fooling the others wouldn't be as easy. Thankfully, Genji agreed with her. After all
it was her who found the key to the Golden Land – the ring of her father Kinzo. With it, she
prepared several letters to be handed out at certain times. And Genji carried the demonic stakes to
make this ceremony complete. She thought she almost messed up when she was seen by Kyrie, but
thankfully for her that woman was very trustful. When Rosa said she should keep their encounter on
the steps leading upstairs secret for a while, she accepted. The first part of the ceremony would be
up to Rosa. Everyone of her siblings and their spouses were invited to the chapel, where a delicious
but deadly meal was waiting for them. And if they refused to eat the meal, they HAD to drink the
equally poisonous beverage on the table. After all, this was to celebrate Rosa's succession as the
head of the Ushiromiya family! Certain rules of etiquette had to be followed. But even though she
was accepted as the one who solved the witch's riddle, her siblings would not step down from their
claims. They wanted their part of the share, too. Rosa expected this, which is why she poisoned the
drinks. After everyone passed out, she took a knife and slit their bellies open. "Let's make this a day
that's worth to be remembered! The world shall see that witches really exist!" She stuffed them full
with candy and left the three gold bars that should prove her positon behind. After locking the door
with the chapel key, she put it in an envelope and stealthily switched it with Maria's envelope. The
envelope with the key continually had it inside from the time of its very creation.

Too lazy for the rest.

EPISODE 3

EPISODE 4
MY MOTHER'S THOUGHTS
Disclaimer: She only watched the anime with me and I filled her in on the pieces that were missing,
or that were portrayed slightly differently than they were in the VN.

Throughout episodes 1 and 2 she was suspicious of Genji. Mostly because of his very emotionless
and cold behaviour, but also because I explained that Genji and Nanjo are portrayed as the only
close friends of Kinzo in the VN (with Shannon and Kanon being trusted a lot by him as well).

Throughout episode 3 she also suspected Eva, which probably everyone does.

She managed to convince me that in order to solve episode 4 or even all episodes, I need to find
good answers first to Battler's sin and Battler's mom situation. Only then will I have something to
work with. And I have to admit, I kinda agree. My theories are all from a time when I had no idea
about either of those problems.

Her favorites are Battler and Genji, also Ange. Her least favorites are bunny girls.

RANDOM THOUGHTS
The two messages in the bottles that were found were different. We don't know the exact details
written in there, but we know that they contradict each other not only concerning the order of the
deaths, but also the deaths themselves. Especially since Eva arrived. Since I am willing to accept at
least a minimum of magic which created this game, what if the bottles left the island in different
timelines / games and both are true? Rokkenjima is isolated, in that the world around it stayed the
same for the first three games at least, and only the island itself was "reset". So when the bottles left
the perimeter or 'magical boundary', they were then unaffected by the reset. Just like some
characters' memories in Higurashi, they are leftovers from another fragment that carried over into
the one of episode 3 (Ange's future).

Kinzo's ring is another point of interest. It is never denied that a fake couldn't exist, so the various
'Beatrices' in my theories could have just had one of those. Another theory is, that it is decided
beforehand who will be the Beatrice and either Kinzo himself gave them the ring when he was alive
(either directly or indirectly) or let them find it, or Kinzo's successor (Genji?) gave it to them. Or it
was hidden at the location specified in the epitaph... though it was shown that the epitaph was only
solved while the murders were in full progress. But maybe it hinted at the location of the ring,
which was different from figuring out where the gold was. Either way it's a tricky problem that
could easily destroy almost ALL of my theories if a red truth comes up that deals with it. The ring is
needed to create all these seals on the letters... so the whole Rokkenjima situation is almost
definitely planned beforehand in intricate detail.

What about the codes to the locker rooms? The letters for those were also prepared in advance. And
they must have been prepared by someone who was also present during the Rokkenjima incident,
because they were painted at the doors once. It drives me nuts! I'm gonna say Eva did it, because
she's a magnificent bitch.
