Manor Junior School Newsletter

Parent Art and Craft Mornings/Afternoons
Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who
came on Thursday afternoon to the Year 4 art and craft
afternoon to support their child’s learning. We had
great fun creating artwork around the Year 4 topic-
Castle on the hill.
Next week we will be holding our Parent Design
Workshops 9-10.30am. Monday 4th Feb – Y6, Tuesday 5th
Feb – Y5, Wednesday 6th Feb – Y4 and Thursday 7th Feb
– Y3.
Uni Hockey Fixtures
This week the Under 9 hockey team played Canklow
Wood away. In a hard fought match Canklow Woods
won 6-4. Well done to everyone who played.
Next week the under 9s play Brinsworth Howarth at
home.
School Photographs
School photographs will take place on the morning of
Tuesday 12th February. A letter providing details has
been sent home. Please ensure you complete and
return the reply slip so we are able to take photos of
your child and any siblings either in the Junior or the
Infant School. If you have pre-school age children or
children who attend the afternoon nursery you will be
able to bring them to be photographed from 8.15-
8.45am. Please enter school via the main reception.
Y6 Parent SATs Meeting
Thank you to everyone who attended our Y6 Parent
SATs (Statutory Assessment Tests) meeting on Tuesday.
SATs dates: Monday 13th May – Thursday 16th May
We ask that Y6 pupils are not absent on these dates.

Breakfast Club
Starting after half term we will be offering a Bagel Slice
to all children on arrival to school! We will then be
starting a Breakfast Club after the Easter break –
information about this was sent home on Friday. If you
would like any further information then please contact
the school office to speak to Mrs Ousley.

Attendance
Just a reminder that our annual school target from
the local authority is 96.5% and at the end of every
half term you will receive an attendance letter.
These are to either congratulate pupils and
parents or to remind parents of attendance
figures and that the Education Welfare Officer is
available for support if needed. We always offer
support to ensure that you have all resources
available to you. Please contact school if you do
not understand the information in the letter.
Dinner Money
School dinners cost £2.05 per day or £10.25 per
week. Dinners should be paid for in advance
either weekly on a Monday morning or monthly if
you prefer. If your account falls into debit you will
be asked to bring sandwiches for your child until
the debt is cleared. Alerts can be set up on
Parentpay to let you know when the balance is
zero. Information is available in the office. Thank
you to all those parents who continue to support
school by paying for school dinners and keeping
their accounts in credit.
Flu Immunisation
If your child has not yet had their flu immunisation
and they are in Years 3, 4 or 5, become a flu fighter
and attend the NHS Free upcoming drop in session:
5th February 4pm-6pm at My Place Community
Centre St Anns Road Rotherham S65 1PH.

Volunteer mums wanted
South Yorkshire Birth and Beyond Community Support
Project are looking to recruit local mums. They are
looking for volunteer mums who could spare a
couple of hours a week to complete the free Level 2
OCN training course and have a desire to change
another mum’s life. Training will be on Wednesday
evenings beginning 6th March – 24th April, 6.15pm –
8.30pm at The Community Room Tesco Extra,
Drummond Street, Rotherham, S65 1HY.
