*When an entire, distinct herd is converted to organic production, the herd must be fed a minimum of 80% certified or certifiable organic feed for 9 months, followed by 100%
organic feed for the final 3 months of the conversion period, and 100% organic feed thereafter. See §205.236(a)(2) of the National Organic Regulations.
