EMBRYO IN MOTION

1
It is now that my life is mine
I’ve got this short time on earth GABRIELAS SANG
And my longing has brought me here,
all I lacked and all I gained
And yet it’s the way that I chose
My trust was far beyond words
That has shown me a little bit
Of the heaven I’ve never found
I want to feel I’m alive
All my living days
I will live as I desire
I want to feel I’m alive
Knowing I was good enough,
have never lost who I was
I have only left it sleeping
Maybe I never had a choice
Just the will to stay alive
All I want is to be happy being who I am
To be strong and to be free
To see day arise from night
I am here and my life is only mine
And the heaven I thought was there
I’ll discover it there somewhere
I want to feel that I’ve lived my life!

HUMAN BEHAVIOR

• The embryo (still) functions in forms

(‚Gestaltung‘).
• The gestures of growth represent the
motions and actions.
• The ‘Gestaltung’ of the embryo is a
performance in course of time.

• A living being is an
appearance in time! 89
THE LANGUAGE OF THE EMBRYO
• The speech / language of forms, motions and
gestures.
• The interface between forms, functions and
actions (behavior) is gesture.
• GESTALT and SHAPING are the key words
(Blechschmidt): A morphology of the soul?
• Brains, genes, bodies cannot act. Organisms
act, organisms are ill. And so on.
• The risk of metaphors is to stifle what is
essential: TO CONFUSE THE CONDITION FOR A
MATTER WITH THE MATTERS ITSELF. 90
LIVING AS AN EMBRYO
• “Is it possible for we cells, before
and after specially neural tissue
arise, to reproduce in later phases
of the life cycle transforms, or
variations of our first experiences?
May our prenatal experiential
patterns function as templates for
some of our patterns woven into the
complex knit of postnatal design?”
Robert Laing in Facts of life. 91
WHO IS GOING UPRIGHT, STRAIGHT?
• Motion is primary, forms are processes that
have come to rest (shape), are per-formed.
• ‘Entirety as performance’.
Die Erhaltung der Individualität (Blechschmidt 1 ‘erweitert’)
• The body is an continuous performance, not
cause (causative principle).
• ‘Going upright (straight) as expression of the
soul, of spirit, not of the body’.

STOP THE MEDICALISATION OF BIRTH
Dear Mr. Jaap,
Her I am with my beautiful daughter!
I gave birth at the 15th of November 2013.
It was not a home birth but it was a natural birth.
I decided to deliver in hospital, because I had a birth plan
and thanks to the birth plan I could change a little bit the
mind of most medical doctors. In my birth plan I asked
not to use oxytocin and no other drug to speed up my
birth, and I asked also not to cut the umbilical cord but
only after some minutes ( so that all the blood can go from
the placenta to the baby), and at last I asked for my
placenta.
The placenta, a magical tree of life which gave nutrition to
my babe for 9 month, the placenta is buried in my garden
now, under an olive tree.
Thanks to my request a lot of woman are trying to do the
same in hospital…for an peaceful birth.
The Placenta is ours and not a garbage or a refuse but
something sacred.
Attached a picture of my lovely daughter Ena Kai.

BIRTH AS IT WAS

106
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

NIDATION – NESTING
A war of genes?

unterlaufen.

 Erich Blechschmidt
(1904-1992) introduced
the principle of limiting
tissues vs inner tissue.
 The classical triad
Ectoderm, Mesoderm
and Endoderm should
be interpreted as a
twofoldness with
meso(derm)’ as the
‘INNER’, the IN-

viscera, they represent
the INSIDE)

EVEN BLOOD, EVEN BONE IS ….. MESO
Tensegrity, tensional integrity or
floating compression, is a structural
principle based on the use of isolated
components in compression inside a net of
continuous tension, in such a way that the
compressed members (usually bars or
struts) do not touch each other and the
prestressed tensioned members (usually
cables or tendons) delineate the system
spatially. The term tensegrity was coined
by Buckminster Fuller in the 1960s as a
portmanteau of "tensional integrity". The
other denomination of tensegrity, floating
compression, was used mainly by Kenneth
Snelson. Tensegrity as "The Architecture of
Life" is an idea developed by Donald E.
Ingber, explained in a January 1998 article
in Scientific American.

METABOLIC FIELDS & KINETICS
ERICH BLECHSCMIDT
Densation fields (d) are characterized by
the loss of intercellular fluids and the
resulting close packing of cells as the tissue
consolidates. All skeletonization in the
embryo arises in densation fields.

Dilation fields (f): In such fields, the living

tissue cells become extended and aligned
in bundles (fascicles) and sheets. Such
cells develop into muscle fibers.

Retension fields (h): Inner tissue that

becomes stretched and tensed during
development. Growth resistance lead to a
tensing of the tissue. The ceils in a retension
field become spindle-shaped and their nuclei
ellipsoidal. Tendons, ligaments, joint
capsules are examples of such stretched
tissue

• „In the human body never there
are purely mechanical
procedures, (......) probably
however biomechanical stress,
thus stress effects as
achievements of living cells and
cell conglomerates. Biological
processes are always more than
purely physical procedures”.

The idea that the body can manage something like leverage
doesn’t mean that it contains levers. In biotensegrity forms –
i.e. non-linear biologic architectures, such as ours,
there are no levers, no shear, no bending moments.

In Wikipedia, THE (free) Encyclopedia

Tear is a droplet eye liquid. The liquid from

which tears are made of is called tear liquid.
Tear liquid is a liquid that mainly serves to
moisten the eye Moreover this substance
carries away particles that have passed
along eyelashes. It also contains lysozym, a
protein that breaks down the cell walls of
microbes so that they are made harmless. 303

I have again and again grown like grass;
I have experienced seven hundred and seventy moulds.
I died from minerality and became vegetable;
And from vegetativeness I died and became animal.
I died from animality and became man.
Then why fear disappearance through death?
Next time I shall die
Bringing forth wings and feathers like angels:
After that soaring higher than angels –
What you cannot imagine. I shall be that.

I died from plant and took a sentient frame
I died from beast and donned a human dress
Where by dying did I ever grow less?

CHIMPANZEE AS MOST RELATED TO MAN

336
2013 - The perfect middle? ?
Human, A. sediba and chimpanzee.
EMERGENCE OF MAN
7-4 million years ago: Several monkeys perhaps walked upright:
Sahelanthropus tchadensis, Orrorin tugenensis, Ardipithecus
ramidus.
3.7 million years ago: In Tanzania, three upright walking apes
leave a footprint behind in wet volcanic ash: unmistakable
evidence of bipedalism
Ca. 3.9 - 2.9 million years ago: In East Africa is Australopithecus
afarensis around, known from the fossil Lucy
Ca. 3-2 million years ago, Australopithecus africanus runs (walks)
in South Africa, characteristic are the developed hands
2.4 - 2.3 million years ago: First primitive tools in East Africa
1.9 million years ago, Australopithecus sediba in South Africa.
About 2 - 1.5 million years ago: First primitive hominids,
characterized by large brains

In the human being the animal
principle is functionally elevated
(“gesteigert”) to higher purposes and
is for the eye, as well as for the
mind, more or less hidden.

LOCOMOTION IN BALANCE ?

Body weight (kg) versus net transport costs (ml of oxygen per kg N per m displacement). Note the
logarithmic scale. The yellow dots indicate the cost of a walking human, and the red and blue dots
the costs for bipedally respectively quadrupedally walking chimpanzees. The propelling charge
amounts in man approximately one-quarter of the costs, which are measured for the chimpanzee.
The dotted lines indicate the average cost that may measure in running and walking mammals and
birds in general. The figure illustrates the dramatic biomechanical superiority of the erect posture
of Homo sapiens. (M.D.Sockol, D.A.Raichlen, H.Pontzer “Chimpanzee locomotor energetics and the
origin of human bipedalism” PNAS 104, p.12265-12269, 2007).

Chins do not

have a function.
People have, otherwise than it is in
primates and prehistoric Man
(humans), a chin. And that chin does
not have any function (is not
functional), which is different from what
we thought until now, so write
researchers in the Journal of Anatomy.

“The chin has nothing to do with

mechanical movements like chewing, but
comes forth from adaptations in the shape
of our face during evolution. Our face
became smaller, possibly caused by
hormonal changes and that is why the
chin became more prominent.”

DEEP RETARDATION – HOX-genes

Denis Duboule a
remarkable article
(“The rise and fall
of Hox gene
clusters”
Development 134,
p.2549-2560, 2007)

• Although all bilaterian animals have a related set of Hox genes, the genomic
organization of this gene complement comes in different flavors. In some
unrelated species, Hox genes are clustered; in others, they are not. This
indicates that the bilaterian ancestor had a clustered Hox gene family and that,
subsequently, this genomic organization was either maintained or lost.
Remarkably, the tightest organization is found in vertebrates, raising the
embarrassingly finalistic possibility that vertebrates have maintained best this
ancestral condition”
In other words, vertebrates, amazingly, would be the only
animals in which the original genomic strucutre of this crucial
gene family has persisted throughout evolution”.

Cuando las estrellas giran

El vino se emborrachó

Un embrión
EMBRION
es un ser humano.
Una fase,
un capítulo
de la biografía singular
de un hombre.
Estamos esperando un hijo:
¿Quién vendrá?
Y no:
¿En qué se convertirá?

Quien sólo puede reconocer

la recapitulación de una
filogenia,
nunca entenderá
el secreto.
Ya ha leído
lo que todavía tiene
que ser escrito.

Quiero darnos un hijo.
No sólo la suma de
CONCEPCION
dos tipos de genes,
ni sólo un accidente
en el mar del tiempo.

Sino...
una maravilla,
suspendida en el océano
azul y seguro
de tu regazo.

Devenido, creado,
en ese mismo momento,
en que yo era tú,
y tú eras yo,
y nos encontramos
y conocimos
al Otro.

Desde mi cabeza a mis pies
Yo soy la imágen de Dios;
From my head to my feet
en arbol(es) y piedra(s), I am the image of God;
From my heart to my hands
No siento miedo, I feel the breath of God;
When I speak with my mouth,
Soló Amor me llenara I follow God’s will.
When I see God
Por todo lo que me rodea. Everywhere, in mother, father,
in all dear people, (Ook: in all loving people)
in animal and flower, (Ook: in beast & flower)
in tree and stone,
No fear shall I feel, (Ook: No fear is mine)
Just love will fill me
For everything around me.
