Le futur et le conditionnel

The future and conditional are among the simplest French tenses. There is only one set of
endings for each of them, and most verbs use their infinitive as the root. The future is used to
express something that will happen, with certainty. The conditional is used to express
something that might happen, hypothetically, with no certainty.

To form the FUTURE tense… To form the CONDITIONAL tense…

of -ER and -IR verbs, add the following endings of -ER and -IR verbs, add the following endings
to the full infinitive. For -RE verbs, drop the final to the full infinitive. For -RE verbs, drop the final
E before adding the endings. Note these are the E before adding the endings. Note these are the
