Nu demult, am citit o reflecŃie a lui Paul Valéry care mi-a inspirat rândurile de faŃă. Ea sună în traducere
liberă cam aşa :

“… CreaŃia originală se declanşează în condiŃiile constrângerii şi se degradează în starea de libertate!”

Pare negarea valorii libertăŃilor artistului. Nu-i aşa ?

Doar la prima vedere !
Pentru că, dacă schimbăm planul de referinŃă, arhitectura, cea care ne-a strâns, pe noi toŃi, în atelierele
acestei şcoli, e departe de a fi numai un exerciŃiu estetic.
Arhitectura se valorifică tocmai în limitele constrângerilor funcŃionale pentru ca să toarne în forme
artistice
nevoi şi idealuri,
ambiŃii şi nelinişti,
materiale şi tehnologii,
mode şi idei fixe,
……………………
……………………
bugetul clientului,
şi, uneori, neputinŃa noastră de a le cuprinde pe toate !

Însă raŃiunea cu care le amestecăm nu trebuie să ne fure visul de a le dărui celorlalŃi o lume mai
frumoasă.

În schimb, libertatea totală e asemeni derutei de a construi o casă în plin deşert.

Neavând repere, e …… simplă gratuitate !
Un secol îşi modifică de nenumărate ori „compasul” şi arhitectura ultimilor ani stă mărturie.

Morala istoriei arhitecturii se poate reduce la parafraza unui citat celebru :

Să ne temem de profesorul unei singure idei !

COUNSEL

Recently, I have read a reflection by Paul Valéry which has inspired me to write this text. In a free
translation, it was something like this:

“… Original creation is triggered under conditions of coercion and degrades itself in the state of
freedom!”

Seems like denying the value of artistic freedoms, isn't it?

Only at first sight!
For, if we change the reference plan, architecture (which brought us together in the studios of this school)
is far from being just an aesthetic exercise.
Architecture fulfills its mission inside the very limits of functional constraints, aiming to pour into art
forms
needs and ideals,
ambitions and anxieties,
materials and technologies,
fashions and fixed ideas,
……………………
……………………
the client's budget,
and sometimes, our helplessness to include them all!

But the fact that we are mixing them rationally shouldn't deprive us from the dream of offering to others
a more beautiful world.

By contrast, total freedom is like the confusion of having to build a house in the middle of a desert.
With no landmarks, it's …… pure randomness.
A century changes its heading for many times, and recent architecture testifies.

The moral of architectural history can be reduced to the paraphrase of a famous quote:

We shall fear the teacher of a single idea!

PROGRAMA ANALITICĂ

A. Concept
Activitatea de proiectare a anului 3 se desfăşoară în cadrul atelierului de proiectare (forma integratoare de
reprezentare şi concepere a viitorului obiect de arhitectură).
Programa analitică pentru anul 3 urmăreşte un pachet de exigenŃe conceptuale, ce se materializează în:
înŃelegerea arhitecturii drept una dintre formele complexe de ARTĂ;
punerea în evidenŃă a unui echilibru ponderat între metodele de generare a imaginilor de arhitectură,
de la forme ideale pure (cu conotaŃii de abordare estetică) la forme strict utilitare;
însuşirea de către studenŃi a elementelor de limbaj arhitectural element, volum, spaŃiu exterior,
formă, funcŃiune;
stimularea creativităŃii, ca scop major.
Fiecare coordonator de atelier îşi conturează propria sa metodă de îndrumare, care se înscrie însă într-o
metodologie generală de instruire obligatorie.

B. ConŃinut
Proiectul de arhitectură realizează, în cadrul unei simulări complexe, apropierea dintre o ipoteză de lucru
(exigenŃe sociale, cadru urban existent sau cadru natural, structuri de rezistenŃă, reglementări urbanistice şi
tehnice, materiale şi texturi, culoare etc.) şi logica unui sistem compoziŃional ales de către autor.
Tematica disciplinei Proiectare : ARHITECTURA MEDIULUI ÎNCONJURĂTOR, LOCUINłA ŞI ORAŞUL.
Titlurile proiectelor: Cultură, Turism, Locuire colectivă.
SchiŃa de schiŃă
Tematica şi titlurile schiŃelor:
Turism (pavilion pentru ceai), Cultură (afiş, spaŃiu pentru evenimente artistice etc.), LocuinŃa (locuinŃă de vacanŃă
la mare, mobilare pentru un spaŃiu de locuit etc.).

C. Obiective generale
definirea volumului elementelor constitutive ale unei construcŃii de arhitectură;
punerea în evidenŃă a relaŃiei dintre volume, ritm, scară şi luminozitate;
rolul structurii de rezistenŃă în definirea configuraŃiei spaŃiale din calculul funcŃiunii (locuire, agrement
etc.);
legătura indisolubilă dintre expresie şi stil;
însuşirea progresivă a „gramaticii” de exprimare în cadrul discursului arhitectural;
formarea gândirii proiective;
însuşirea unor reguli de compoziŃie, de combinare a formelor (alăturare, articulare, segmentare,
deformare etc.);
familiarizarea cu principiile arhitecturii ecologice, sustenabile.

D. Metodologie
Forma de predare :
Prelegeri şi susŃineri în fiecare săptămână, în prima şedinŃă de atelier;
Însuşirea unui material documentar obligatoriu;
Dobândirea capacităŃilor de reprezentare, prin exerciŃii de desen, grafică, culoare sau machete şi
simulare pe calculator;
Prezentarea unei mape de studiu individual;
SusŃinerea liberă a lucrării propuse de către student, ce se constituie într-o iniŃiere în critica de
arhitectură;
Dezvoltarea posibilităŃilor de explicare teoretică de către studenŃi a soluŃiilor arhitecturale propuse.
Proiectele sunt îndrumate continuu pe perioada realizării studiului.

SYLLABUS

A. Concept
The 3rd year architectural design activity takes place within the studio (an integrated frame for representing and
designing the architectural object).
The syllabus of the 3rd year seeks the fulfillment of conceptual requirements, which are represented by:
understanding of architecture as a complex form of ART;
highlighting a weighted balance between architectural images generative methods, from pure
(aesthetically connoted) ideal forms towards strictly utilitarian ones;
assimilating the architectural language elements element, volume, exterior space, form, function;
encouraging creativity, as a major aim.
Each studio coordinator outlines his specific guidance method within a generally required teaching methodology.

B. Content
The architectural project connects (in a complex simulation) a working hypothesis (social demands, urban or
natural environment, structures, urban and technical regulations, materials and textures, color, etc.) to each
student's compositional logic.
Themes of the Architectural Design course: ARCHITECTURE OF THE ENVIRONMENT, DWELLING AND CITY.
Project titles: Culture, Tourism, Collective dwelling.
1-day projects
Themes and titles:
Tourism (tea pavilion), Culture (poster, art events space, etc.), Housing (country house at the seaside, interior
design for a dwelling space, etc.).

C. General objectives
defining the architectural object's volumetric configuration;
highlighting the relationship between volumes, rhythm, scale, and luminosity;
structural system's role in defining the spatial configuration, also considering the functional
calculations (dwelling, leisure activities, etc.);
the indissoluble link between expression and style;
progressive assimilation of the communicational "grammar" in the architectural discourse;
shaping of projective thinking;
acquiring rules of composition and of shape combination (juxtaposition, articulation, segmentation,
deformation, etc.);
being acquainted with the principles of green, sustainable architecture.

D. Methodology
Teaching forms:
Lectures and students' presentations in the first class of each week;
Getting information from the compulsory documentation;
Acquisition of representational skills, through drawing exercises, graphic and color studies, model
making and computer simulations;
Presentation of an individual study portfolio;
Individual public presentation of each student's work, which is meant to be an introduction to
architectural critique;
Development of students' abilities to explain theoretically their architectural propositions.
Projects are guided continuously through the duration of study.

Centru de informare pentru arhitectură

Tema propune un scenariu care să permită bucureştenilor să se informeze şi să
participe, în cunoştinŃă de cauză, la elaborarea deciziilor privind evoluŃia
oraşului. Simultan, un astfel de centru poate reprezenta o ieşire în spaŃiul public
pentru manifestările expoziŃionale ale breslei arhitecŃilor. Prin acest proiect,
studenŃii vor explora capacitatea formelor arhitecturale de a genera interes
public, într-un context deja saturat de mesaje vizuale. Totodată, un element
fundamental al temei este caracterul temporar al construcŃiei. În zona centrală a
PieŃei Unirii din Bucureşti, studenŃii vor alege amplasamentul exact al obiectului
de arhitectură propus, care va avea o suprafaŃă desfăşurată de 400500 mp.

Architectural information center

This project suggests a scenario which shall allow the inhabitants of Bucharest
to get information and to take part in the urban decision-making processes. This
kind of center can also bring into the public space the exhibitions organized by
the architectural professional bodies. During this project, the students will be
able to explore the power of architectural forms to generate public interest, in a
visually saturated urban context. Another fundamental element of the project is
the temporary character of the building. In the central part of Unirii Square in
Bucharest, the students will choose its precise setting; the building's total area
has to be between 400 and 500 square meters.

PREZENTAREA STUDENTULUI:
Prin propunerea facuta in cazul pavilionului din Piata Unirii, am incercat sa
produc un impact asemanator cu acela produs de bradul de Craciun amplasat
cu un an in urma in acelasi loc - dar la o scara mult mai redusa. De aceea am
optat pentru un accent vertical cu rol de semnal, care impreuna cu albul
membranei care acopera structura, fac pavilionul vizibil in spatiul pietei. In ceea
ce priveste forma, accentul vertical, care la interior delimiteaza spatiul
expozitional, creeaza un dialog cu forma sa negativa, alveolara, marcand
intrarea. Pentru a pastra caracterul temporar al pavilionului am ales o structura
metalica, imbracata intr-o membrana PVC translucida.

STUDENT’S PRESENTATION:
In order to create a similar (but much lower) impact as the one produced by the
Christmas tree one year ago in the same Unirii square, my proposal for the
pavilion followed some parameters. This is why I've chosen a vertical accent
playing the role of a signal, which along the white of the membrane covering the
structure, make the pavilion visible in the square. The formal concept was
guided by the vertical accent which borders the interior exhibition place and
establishes a dialog with its negative, alveolate form, marking the entrance. In
order to keep the temporary character of the pavilion, I've chosen a metallic
structure, covered by a translucent PVC membrane.

Club pentru o asociaŃie a voluntarilor ecologişti

Constituind un model experimental de dezvoltare turistică ecologică, exerciŃiul
pune accentul pe explorarea resurselor estetice ale “arhitecturii sărace” / low-
tech care foloseşte energia înmagazinată în regim pasiv. Se va lua de
asemenea în considerare realizarea construcŃiei cu materiale, tehnici şi resurse
locale minime. Aflat la 35 km de Bucureşti pe şoseaua DN 1, situl este un teren
neconstruit care se desfăşoară de o parte şi de alta a unui canal al lacului
Snagov.
Clubul ECO-PARK SNAGOV este un loc destinat adunării periodice a
membrilor asociaŃiei voluntarilor ecologişti şi a celor care îi vizitează.
Alcătuit pavilionar sau monobloc, pe parter sau parter şi etaj, acesta va avea
ateliere de lucru, o sala multifunctionala si o cafeterie ca functiuni principale.

The study is ment to explore low tech architecture and sustainable development
proposing alternative solution to build a ECO-CENTER for a young group of eco
militants.The site is near Bucharest, 35 km on DN1 speedway, on a green and
unbuilt site near Snagov lake.The club is the first phase of development an it
consists on a number of workshop spaces, a technical room for experimental
techniques and equipments, a conference room for 100 people and a small
cafeteria towards the lake.The club should be organised as a one or two levels
building, and must use local techniques and materials in a rather low-tech
intervention.

PREZENTAREA STUDENTULUI:
Eco club Snagov isi propune sa fie o „constructie ecologica” inca de la alegerea
sitului. Aflat in vecinatatea lacului Snagov, clubul este destinat unui grup de
activisti ecologisti.
Obiectul propus se bucura de avantajele unui sit liber, ce nu este constrans de
existenta altor cladiri. Compozitia este ampla si propune un volum dominant
circular, destinat activitatilor principale si un traseu directionat, de-a lungul celor
doua maluri, de care se agata atelierele de lucru.
Proiectul propune asigurarea conditiilor de functionare pe cat posibil prin
tehnici, metode si materiale ecologice. Materialele de baza propuse spre
utilizare sunt: lemnul, sticla, piatra naturala.

STUDENT’S PRESENTATION:
Eco Club Snagov aims to be an "ecological building" right from the choice of the
site. Located nearby Snagov Lake, the club is to be used by a group of eco-
militants.
The proposed subject enjoys the advantages of a free site, which is not
constrained by any other surrounding buildings. Its compounding is ample and
suggests a dominant circular volume dedicated to the main activities and a route
alongside the two borders of the lake, which the workshops cling onto.
The project proposes proper working facilities as much as possible through
ecological techniques, methods and materials. The raw materials proposed are:
wood, glass, and natural stone.

Amplasamentul:
zona centrala a Bucurestiului scuarul dintre strazile Transilvaniei, Temisana si
Luigi Cazzavilan este marginit de un teren liber, de forma patrata cu o suprafata
de aprox. 1100 mp care poate deveni o continuare a spatiului public al pietei si in
acelasi timp un nucleu de activitati.

Scopul:
descoperirea unui spatiu cultural dinamic si deschiderea unei arte restranse si
specializate inspre publicul multivalent al culturii de azi; adoptarea de către
individ a unui comportament interactiv şi a unei dispoziŃii de reacŃie spontană la
experienŃele propuse; participarea directa a publicului larg la fenomenul cultural
prin dans.

Site:
central zone of Bucharest plaza between Transilvaniei, Temisana and Luigi
Cazzavilan streets has, on the west side, a void surface almost square,
approximately 1100 sq. meters, which can become a continuum of the public
space and, at the same time, a center of attraction.

Goal:
rediscovery of a dynamic cultural space and the opening of a discreet and
specialized art toward the multicultural public of today. Having an individual
interactive response and a normal spontaneous reaction to an experience.
Participation of the public to the cultural phenomenon through dance.

PREZENTAREA STUDENTULUI:
Dansul modern, contemporan, adopta in majoritatea spectacolelor teme
urbane: urbanismul transpunand sentimentele esentiale in aglomerari citadine.
Proiectul propune o structura moderna, dinamica, ce doreste a fi o intretesere
intre miscare si sunet. In acest context , parcusul/traseul are un rol important in
configurarea spatiului interior, care permite circulatia libera de la o incapere la
alta. Configurarea intregii cladiri rezulta si din incercarea de stabilire a unui
dialog urban cu restul tesutului/orasului.

STUDENT’S PRESENTATION:
The modern contemporary dance adopts urban themes in most shows,
transposing urbanism with it's attitudes and mentality into artistic expression.
This project proposes a modern, dynamic structure to reflect the interweaving of
movement and sound. In this context, the flow of space has an important role in
shaping the interior volume, allowing a free passage from one room to another.
The final structure is also a result of a spacial integration within the rest of the
area.

PENSIUNE TURISTICĂ LA BREAZA / TOURISTIC PENSION AT BREAZA - 32B

Situl propus se afla in localitatea Breaza, jud. Prahova. Terenul este in panta si
are o suprafata de 2500 mp. Tema de proiectare face parte din programul
turistic/cazare temporara si propune configurarea unei pensiuni ce va include
urmatoarele functiuni:
Zona de acces va include receptie, spatiu asteptare si birou administrator.
Spatiul comun de petrecere a timpului liber este o trasatura caracteristica a
programului de pensiune, putand include spatii pentru bar, discutii si TV si
aflandu-se in directa legatura cu un spatiu exterior.
Spatiul pentru servirea mesei este dimensionat pentru 25 - 30 de persoane si
poate fi extins catre exterior printr-o terasa in aer liber.
Spatiul de cazare format din minim 8 / maxim 10 unitati, cu doua paturi sau cu
pat dublu, vestibul, spatii de depozitare si baie.
Spatiile anexe vor cuprinde spatii de depozitare, spalator si uscator rufe,
camera centrala, vestiar personal.

The proposed site it's located in Breaza, Prahova. The sloping terrain has a
2500 mp area. The project task belongs to the touristic programme/ temporary
accommodation, proposing a pension configuration that will include the
following functions:
The access area has a reception, a waiting room and the administrator's office.
The common room for leisure activities can include a bar, discussion and TV, in
direct connection with the exterior.
The dinning room area is dimensioned for 25- 30 people and can be extended
with an outdoor terrace.
8-10 unites form the accommodation space, with 2 beds/ double bed, entrance
hall, depositing space and bathroom.
Annexes include depositing spaces, washer and drier, central room and
personal locker room.

PREZENTAREA STUDENTULUI:
Provocarea proiectului a fost de a creea o pensiune cu un minim impact asupra
peisajui, profitand de trasaturile cadrului natural. Conceptul se bazeaza pe
salvarea belvederii initiale pe care insusi situl o propune. Acoperisul devine o
extensie a partii inalte a terenului, camufland aproape in totalitate cladirea.
Spatiul de cazare este divizat in cinci unitati, cate doua camere cuplate pe
verticala, cu o tratare aparte datorata importantei lor in cadrul pensiunii.
Echidistanta fata de zona comuna este realizata prin pozitionarea holul la nivel
intermediar. Interactiunea volume- natura este una dinamica, bazata pe usoara
glisare si detasare, accentuandu-se fluiditatea spatiului verde. Folosirea
materialelor natural,traditionale la exterior subliniaza zonele cu functiuni
diferite.

STUDENT’S PRESENTATION:
The challenge of this project was to create a pension with minimal impact while
making the most of the setting's physical features. The concept is based on
rescuing the initial view that the site itself proposes. The roof becomes an
extension of the high part of the land, almost completely camouflaging the
building. The accommodation space is divided in five unites, with two rooms for
unit, vertically combined, with a special treating due to their importance as part
of the project. The equidistance to the common area is achieved by positioning
the hall at an intermediary level. The interaction between volumes and nature is
a dynamic one, based on the slightly gliding and detaching, accentuating the
green space fluidity. Using natural, traditional materials on the outside
distinguishes areas with different functions.

Casă de creaŃie la Mogoşoaia

Pe un teren aflat în curtea palatului de la Mogoşoaia, studenŃii vor propune o
construcŃie având funcŃiunea de cazare, odihnă şi creaŃie pentru artiştii plastici.
Studiul va Ńine seama, în primul rând, de contextul natural şi istoric existent

House for artists at Mogosoaia

On an area inside Mogosoaia Palace the students will have to propose a
building serving as a hotel for artists, a place for relaxation, repose and art
creation.
The study will take in consideration the historical and natural environment in the
area.

PREZENTAREA STUDENTULUI:
In continuarea proiectului de Muzeu, pensiunea propusa este integrata in ideea
ca Mogosoaia este o succesiune de curti interioare in padure. Trecand prin
muzeu, in parcursul spre gradiniile engleze ale palatului, vizitatorul trece prin
curtea dintre cele doua cladiri afundandu-se din nou in padure, unde gaseste o
cutie de sticla plasata pur si simplu intre copaci, ingloband o parte dintre ei,
astfel el isi continua drumul prin pensiune fara a parasi vre-un moment padurea.
Camerele sunt pozitionate asemena unor ramuri de copaci iesind din cutia de
sticla, iar in locul balcoanelor vizitatorul primeste o extensie de sticla a camerei
care il invita la o plimbare printre ramurile copacilor.
In definitiv in proiect nu este vorba despre altceva decat parcurgerea spatiului
minunat care este Mogosoaia.

STUDENT’S PRESENTATION:
As part two of the Mogosoaia project the small hotel is integrated in the concept
of Mogosoaia being a series of inner courts in the forest. After strolling through
the museum and the courtyard between them, the visitor goes back in the forest
where he finds a glass box enclosing some of the trees thus one can walk
through the hotel without ever leaving the forest, maintaining his parcour
towards the english palace gardens.
The rooms are positioned as tree branches coming out of the glass box, and
instead of balconies the visitor has a long glass extension witch give him the
opportunity of walk thru the tree canopy.
In conclusion, the project is all about the parcour of the wonderful space that is
Mogosoaia.

Tema solicită amenajarea unui spaŃiu
dedicat evenimentelor culturale, realizate
de către şi pentru studenŃi pe terasa sălii de
sport a UniversităŃii «Ion Mincu».
Propunerea va consta dintr-un spaŃiu
acoperit, realizat din materiale uşoare, ce
poate cuprinde : gradene fixe sau mobile,
ecran de proiecŃie, pereŃi amovibili pentru
închidere şi / sau expunere. SpaŃiul va fi
dimensionat pentru circa 250 de persoane,
dintre care circa 150 pe scaune.

The project asks for the designing of a space
dedicated to cultural events, made by and for
the students on the roof of the sports hall of
the «Ion Mincu» University. The proposal will
consist of a covered space, built from light
materials, which can include: fixed or mobile
rows of steps, projection screen, movable
enclosing and / or exhibition walls. The space
will be calculated for around 250 persons, of
which around 150 seated.

FormaŃia The Police va concerta pe plaja din
Vama Veche. Pornind de la acest pretext, se
cere imaginarea unui afiş al spectacolului,
prezentat într-o tehnică grafică la alegere. În
partea dreaptă a planşei se vor propune soluŃii
prin care grafica propriu-zisă a afişului ar putea
fi folosită în moduri diferite faŃă de cel
tradiŃional, pe bannere, steaguri sau pe orice
altă formă posibilă de expunere (chiar pe plajă)
în zona unde urmează să se desfăşoare
spectacolul.
The Police band will give a concert on the
beach in Vama Veche. Starting from this
pretext, the project consists in the designing of
a poster for this show. The drawing technique is
to be chosen by the students. The right half of
the sheet will be reserved for the presentation
of some ideas about using the graphic concept
of the poster in different ways, compared to the
traditional ones: on banners, flags or any other
displaying form (on the beach) in the proposed
concert area.

Pe un teren situat pe malul Lacului
Floreasca din Bucureşti se va amplasa un
pavilion al ceaiului. Zona are o vegetaŃie
relativ densă, care trebuie menŃinută şi
reprezintă un element important în
definirea soluŃiei. SuprafaŃa desfăşurată a
pavilionului va fi de 250 mp, iar înălŃimea
maximă admisă de 10 metri. Este posibilă
creşterea suprafeŃei construite prin terase
acoperite sau descoperite. Sistemul
structural va fi ales în mod liber de către
studenŃi.

The students will design a tea pavilion, on the
shore of the Floreasca Lake in Bucharest.
The area has relatively dense vegetation. It is
mandatory to maintain it, because the trees
form an essential element for developing the
architectural solution. The building area will
be 250 sqm, and the maximum height: 10
meters. The area can be increased by
covered or open terraces. The structural
system will be chosen freely by the students.

Cresterea populatiei duce inevitabil la cresterea aglomerarilor urbane. Pentru a

evita dispersarea oraselor in teritoriu, problema a ecologiei si mediului, cel mai
important loc al cresterii urbane este chiar interiorul oarsului. Aceasta crestere
este posibila prin echilibrarea densificarii in acele zone ale orasului care cu greu
pot fi denumite locuri urbane si in care infrastructura este aproape nefolosita.
Locuirea de mare densitate este un suport important al acestor extinderi in
interiorul orasului. Prin integrarea locuirii cu alte functiuni se pot crea la nivelul
vecinatatii, poluri de interes si de atractie, oportunitati de crestere culturala,
poluri de urbanitate si cel mai important, caracter de zona urbana centrala.
Rezultatul ar trebui sa fie mixare de spatii private si spatii publice si semi-publice
create spre a incuraja calitatea spatiala, culturala, functionala, sociala, etc., a
vietii in oras. Este un altfel de spatiu public, este „spatiul public cotidian”, al
atmosferei placute pentru fiecare individ, al medierii culturale si sociale la care
fiecare individ are libertatea de a participa sau nu.
Pe un lot situat in apropierea parcului Timisoara din cartierul Drumul Taberei se
propune realizarea unei comunitati de locuinte colective, cuprinzand 80 de
apartamente de diferite tipuri, cat si numeroase functiuni complementare
integrate. Demersul proiectului va integra obligatoriu urmatoarele strategii, care
constituie si obiectivele studiului:
1. Flexibilitatea folosirii in diferite moduri a aceleiasi suprafete construite,
flexibilitatea alterarii conformarii initiale a locuintei in ideea acomodarii in timp a
schimbarilor posibile a obiceiurilor habitative, flexibilitatea in tipologia locuirii.
2. Urbanitatea vazuta ca multi- functionalitate prin integrarea la spatiiile de
locuire a altor functiuni si utilizari, prin integrarea de spatii publice si semi-
publice.
3. Atentia pentru spatiul verde si pentru mediul inconjurator.
4. Complexitatea volumetrica care va face din aceasta vecinatate un loc special
cu caracter si identitate proprii in oras.
Daca privim arhitectura ca arta de a crea spatii publice, chiar si in zonele in care
realizam spatii ale privatului, acest ansamblu al unei comunitati, va fi o sansa de
integrare a urbanitatii in oras si de oprire a exilarii orasanului din traditia urbana
catre periferie.
PREZENTAREA STUDENłILOR:
Am urmărit să realizăm din complexul de locuinŃe colective o intervenŃie la scară
urbană. Abordarea de tip urbanism liber, specifică în Drumul Taberei, nu acordă
atentie percepŃiei pietonului asupra oraşului. Prin urmare, am încercat să
recreăm spectacolul străzii traditionale introducând un pietonal supraînălŃat
care, ieşind din sit, dă un impuls dezvoltării întregii zone. Traversând cartierul,
podul astfel creat grupează diferite centre de funcŃiuni publice. La nivelul sitului,
cele două paliere, unul natural şi celalalt urban, se completează reciproc , unite
fiind pe verticală. Atmosfera de furnicar urban la nivelul podului este susŃinută de
prezenŃa spaŃiilor publice diversificate, cât şi a multitudinii de poduri pasarele şi
cursive, cu valoare de promenadă, a căror finalitate este locuinŃa şi spaŃiul
comunitar.
STUDENTS’ PRESENTATION:
We desired to transform the collective dwellings complex into an urban scale
major intervention. The existing approach of the urban development of the site
doesn't focus on the perception of the pedestrian regarding the citty. Therefore
we tried to recreate the spectacle of the traditional street using a elevated
promenade that emerges from the site, giving a powerfull impulse for the further
development of the area. Crossing the neighborhood, the bridge we proposed
groups different public functions areas. On the ground level, both natural and
urban aspects complete each other, beeing vertically united. The urban
concentration on the bridge level is sustained by the presence of different public
spaces as well as the great number of bridges, rails and pedestrian walkways,
transformed into urban promenades, that have as a final destination both
dwellings and urban space.

High-density dwellings
In order to avoid uncontrolled splitting of the city into natural environment we can
make grow our cities by developing the very inside of the city itself. We talk about
balancing density in those areas of the city which have such a low density that
we can scarcely call them urban places, in which infrastructure is almost
unused. High-density housing is an important support of these developments
inside the city.
By integrating housing with other programs we can create neighbourhoods
which become poles of interest, opportunities of cultural and social growth,
poles of urbanity, and most important, areas of „city centre”.
The result should be a mixture of private and public or half public spaces created
to encourage the spatial, functional, cultural, social, etc., qualities of life in the
city. It should be another kind of public space: „the everyday public space”,
pleasant for any person, place in which each person has the liberty to participate
or not at social and cultural sharing.

On a location close to Parcul Timisoara we request the development of a

neighbourhood composed of 80 dwellings of different types and of
complementary integrated functions and uses.
The proposal will integrate the following strategies:
1. Flexibility of using the same constructed surface in different ways,
flexibility in altering the initial layout of the dwelling in order to accommodate in
time, changes of living habits, flexibility in typologies;
2. Urbanity seen as multi functionality by means of integrating to living
spaces other functions and uses, by integrating public and half public spaces.
3. Concern about green space and green environment;
4. Volumetric complexity which will make the neighbourhood a special
place with own character and identity, in the city;
If we consider architecture as the art of making public space, even in areas of the
private, than such a neighbourhood can give the chance to the urban citizen of
stopping his exile to the suburb. It will be an exercise of urban poetry…

PREZENTAREA STUDENłILOR:
Ideea de la care am pornit a fost obtinerea unei incinte privilegiate, bordata
vizual spre str. Brasov cu blocul P+7 tip bara si spre str.1 Mai cu zona
comerciala, deschisa spre promenada ce face legatura cu parcul. Celelalte
locuinte sunt vile alcatuite din duplex-uri de 2, 3 sau 4 dormitoare. Incinta este
realizata printr-o platforma ridicata de la sol, avand dublu rol: creearea unei
zone semi-private, pentru locuitorii ansamblului si rol functional de inglobare a
parcarii subterane. Platforma se dizolva progresiv catre spatiul comun al strazii.
Incintele-gradini cu rol tematic din cadrul platformei, precum si terasele comune
decupate in volumul blocului bara permit inter-relationarea dintre locuitori,
pentru socializare si loisir.

STUDENTS’ PRESENTATION:
The idea from which we started was to obtain a privileged precinct, visually
bordered with a block type bar P+7 on Brasov str., and with a commercial area
open to the promenade that connects the park on the 1st May street. The other
houses are villas, with duplexes of 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms. The enclosure is made by
a raised platform, creating a semi-private area for all residents and including the
functional role of underground parking. The platform gradually dissolves itself
into the street. Themed gardens cut out in the platform, and common terraces
cut in the block allow inter-relating between people, for socializing and leisure.

PREZENTAREA STUDENłILOR:
Proiectul nostru isi propune sa functioneze asemeni vechiului „pol urban” ce
antrena intreaga zona, fabrica Tricodava. Astfel fabrica a fost transformata intr-o
gradina, ce reprezinta punctul de plecare pentru intregul proiect, parcul
infiltrandu-se in mijlocul locuintelor si raspandindu-se apoi in directiile adiacente
sitului. Gradina separa si uneste, aduna si disperseaza, apartine locuitorilor si
deopotriva orasului. Pentru a oferi unitate ansamblului, proiectul se bazeaza pe
ideile de mixitate si de proximitate. Astfel locuirea se combina cu zona de loisir,
de comert, recreere, creand asfel oportunitati pentru comunicare, schimb,
cooperare, incurajandu-se asadar formarea unei comunitati.

STUDENTS’ PRESENTATION:
Our project's purpose is to act in a similar manner to the old “urban pole” that
used to stimulate the entire area, Tricodava Industry. Therefore, the old
manufacture has been transformed in a garden which represents the start point
for the entire project. As a result the park is being infused in the middle of the
dwellings and afterwards defused in all directions. The garden separates and
brings together, assembles, agglomerates and scatters, disperses. It belongs to
the “neighbors” and to the “city”. In order to achieve unity, the project is based on
the ideas of mixing and proximity. Therefore, the ensemble combines living with
recreation, work, “loisir”, creating opportunities for communication, exchange,
trade, cooperation, and thus encourages the bounding of a community.

Podurile caselor vechi reprezintă o resursă
valoroasă pentru locuirea urbană.
Conversia unui astfel de spaŃiu este şi tema
acestei schiŃe, care solicită păstrarea ca
atare a şarpantei şi amenajarea aici a unei
locuinŃe pentru 3 persoane. Pe lângă
spaŃiile de dormit şi zona de zi, se mai pot
propune spaŃii de lucru, precum şi o arie
dedicată locului de joacă. Se va acorda o
atenŃie deosebită coerenŃei partiului, în
raport cu înălŃimile libere de sub şarpantă.

Old houses' attics are valuable resources for
urban dwelling. The conversion of such a
space is the subject of this project, which
asks for the maintaining of the attic's
structural framework and the insertion of an
apartment for 3 persons into that space.
Besides the bedrooms and the living room,
working spaces can be added, as well as a
playing area. The students are required to
carefully consider the coherence of the plan
and its relation towards the available heights
under the roof.

Tema propune imaginarea unei locuinŃe de
vacanŃă la mare, în satul 2 Mai, obiectivul
exerciŃiului fiind recrearea unui model
identitar pentru arhitectura de acest tip din
mediul rural. Terenul se află pe faleză.
Casa are caracter unifamilial, cu parter sau
maxim parter şi etaj, iar materialele vor
susŃine ideea de identitate a locuinŃei :
cărămidă, piatră, paiantă, lemn, olane, stuf
etc. Partiul arhitectural este la alegerea
studenŃilor. Piesa principală a schiŃei va fi o
machetă la scara 1:50.

This project asks for the designing of a
country house in 2 Mai seaside village. Our
aim is the re-creation of an identity model for
rural architecture. The plot is adjacent to the
cliff. This house will host a single family, on
one or two floors. Building materials will
strengthen the dwelling's identity: brick,
stone, adobe, timber, ceramic roof tiles, reed,
etc. The plan configuration is to be chosen by
the students. The main part of the project will
be a model of the house (scale 1:50).

SchiŃa propune studierea şi detalierea unui
modul spaŃial funcŃional dat, al unei locuinŃe
colective. SpaŃiul este destinat dormitorului
matrimonial şi trebuie să unească (într-un
mod flexibil şi confortabil) zona pentru
dormit, spaŃiul destinat dressing-ului şi cel
destinat băii. Pentru susŃinerea ideii de
flexibilitate, se va propune şi o amenajare
alternativă a aceluiaşi modul : dormitor
pentru 2 copii, birou sau spaŃiu destinat
unor activităŃi muzicale. PoziŃia băii nu va fi
modificată.

The project's proposal is the studying and
detailed designing of a given spatial-
functional unit of a collective dwelling. The
space shall include the master bedroom,
which is to be flexibly and comfortably
connected with the dressing space and the
bathroom. Sustaining the idea of flexibility,
the students will also design an alternative
proposal for the same unit: a bedroom for 2
children, an office or a musical activities
room. The bathroom's position will not be
changed.
