pray. Praise be the name of
Mariel , kindly lead the prayer. our Lord Jesus Christ…

…now and forever amen.

3. Securing

5. Checking Yes, ma’am.

of assignment Did I give you an assignment last
meeting, Class?
Please pass your preparations and
I will check it later.

3ELICIT Before we proceed to our new

(Recall) lesson, let’s have a short recap
about our yesterday’s lesson

What is our lesson last meeting?

About the nuclear force.

And what is nuclear force Jerome?

Nuclear force is the
forces that act between
two or more nucleons.
They bind protons and
neutrons (“nucleons”)
Very good. And what are the 4 into atomic nuclei
fundamental forces?

The 4 fundamental
forces are Gravitational,
Weak, Electromagnetic
Very Good class I’m glad that you and Strong force.
learn from what we study last
meeting.

5 minutes Engage Class I want all of you to watch Power point

(Motivation) this little video. Presentation

Okay class what did you see in the
video that you watched? There’s a man that play
with the waves in the
sea.
Republic of the Philippines
CENTRAL BICOL STATE UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE

What did he use to float over the

sea? He used board.

Do you know what kind is sport is

that? Surfing ma’am

Very good did you ever try to

surfing?

Not yet ma’am.

B. Lesson Propper To know your next topic you know
1 minute the game 4 pic one word?
Presentation of the
topic Yes ma’am.
Very good so let’s start now.
Yes Dalton?

It’s a Wave ma’am.

Very Good Dalton!

In this lesson we will learn what is a
wave ,how it is formed or produce, or
what causes its existence its nature
and characteristics

1 minute Presentation of theBut before we proceed to our new

lesson objectives topic, let me first present to you
our lesson objective for today.

Kindly read. At the end of 60 minutes

discussion, at least 75%
of the students are
expected to
A. Explain how
waves are
produce;
B. Describe and
explain wave
motion as
illustrated by
vibrations in
ropes, and by
water in the sea.
Are you ready for our new topic? C. Distinguish
between
transverse and
longitudinal
waves, and give
suitable examples

of each.

Yes ma’am.

2 minutes Unlocking of difficulties We also have some terms which you

will encounter as we go along the
discussion.
 Longitudinal
waves - Movement
of the particles are
parallel to the
Kindly read motion of the
energy.
 Transverse waves
- movement of the
particles are at right
angles
(perpendicular) to
the motion of the
energy.
 Surface waves -
particles travel in a
circular motion.
Mechanical wave is a wave that is an
oscillation of matter, and therefore
transfers energy through a medium.
While waves can move over long
distances, the movement of the
medium of transmission—the
material—is limited.

Plane waves -have a propagation

direction and therefore plane wave-
fronts (e.g. sunlight which gets to
earth, light wave-front beam of a
laser)

12 minutesEXPLORE Class have ever seen or heard about

tsunami wave?
This time I will show you a video clip
about a tsunami that hit Japan
in 2011.Have you heard that in the
news? Who of you watch news here?
Okay.....please watch this (The
teacher will play the clip)
Yes ma’am!
So class what are your thoughts
about what you have seen in the
video? Yes Princess?

That’s right that’s why when you go

to the beach you must be vigilant. We
cannot tell what time a tsunami will
happen. Right? According to what you
Republic of the Philippines
CENTRAL BICOL STATE UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE

have heard in the news if so

happened that you really watch news
what was the cause of this tsunami?

Very good Liza.

Yes. Of course! Tsunami is caused by It was terrifying and
an earthquake in the ocean or what destructive ma’am .I’m sure
geologists called under water many houses and buildings
earthquake. were destroyed
Now, I will ask you. What is in your
mind when say wave? Just like what
you have seen in the video?
It is because of an
earthquake in the ocean
that’s why that happened
That right! What a brilliant maam
idea Pearly!
But what we know about wave now is
just a part of what we are about to
know in this lesson.

In this lesson we will learn what a

wave is, how it is formed or produce,
or what causes its existence its nature Wave are like one of those
and characteristics. in the ocean that we can see
when we go out for a picnic
at the beach ma’am

7 minutes EXPLAIN Waves that we can see in the ocean

aregood example of a wave. However,
ouridea about wave must not be
confined only in that example.

Later, as we go along our lesson, we

will encounter different types and
sources of waves. Like sound waves,
light waves (electromagnetic wave)
etc.
So waves are everywhere. Do you
agree on that class?

Based on your experience in water at Yes ma’am!

the sea. How do you think waves are
formed or created? Yes Kathy?

Waves are formed because

of disturbances. Like the
Very well said Kathy! wind that blows the water
at the sea it provides force
In other words what do we mean by that create waves
wave?
A wave is a disturbance.
By the way..let us first understand the
Republic of the Philippines

word medium. What do we mean by

the word In my own understanding
of the word medium, it is
medium? Any idea? like a thing that enables
Yes, Mea? another thing to go from
one place to another place.
Like for example when we
go to the city we have to
ride on a bus or taxi in
order for us to reach our
destination. We may
consider a vehicle like a bus
That is very Good example Mae. as a medium which helps
us reach our destination.
In the case of the water at the sea,
what do you think is the medium?
At the sea, water carries
the wave and we can see
that the wave that the
water carries moves from
one place to another.
Therefore we can say that
the water at the sea is a
medium which carries the
Thank you very much for your wave on it.
answer Bella.
5 minutes ELABORATE
So what are the different types of
wave?
Kindly read Jessie.
Mechanical wave can
travel through medium.

Electromagnetic wave
doesn’t need medium to
travel
Okay thank you Jessie you may
take your seat. Mechanical wave
example of that is sound wave,
water wave and etc. in
electromagnetic wave example of
that is our sun light. Radio wave,
microwave and etc.

There are two types of waves,

Transverse wave and Longitudinal
wave.
Transverse vibrate side to side to
direction perpendicular waves.
Longitudinal wave move in parallel.

3 minutes Valuing Process What do you think that these 4

forces called fundamental?

Yes Rose?
Republic of the Philippines
CENTRAL BICOL STATE UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE
San Jose Pili, Camarines Sur

It’s because these 4

forces if the most
important and popular
forces.

Very good Rose. What else?

Because these 4 forces

are present in every
object I our universe.

Okay thank you Roben.

How do the four fundamental

forces work? Forces and carrier
particles. There are four
fundamental
forces at work in the
universe: the
strong force, the
weak force, the
electromagnetic force,
and the
gravitational force. The
strong force, as the
name suggests, is the
strongest of all four
fundamental interactions.

Very well said Maria.

3 minutes Generalization So generally speaking, wave
carriesenergy.....energy that might be
in the formof light or sound
etc...transmitted througha medium
and it will never carry matter.Do you
agree on that?

The wave medium is not the wave

and itdoesn't make the wave; it
merely carries ortransports the wave
from its source toother locations. In
the case of a water wavein the ocean,
the medium through whichthe wave
travels is the ocean water.
