Name: Muhd Hishamuddin bin Abdullah

Dear Scholarship Selection Committee:

Being conceived as a child to low-income guardians, I was brought up in a situation
where hardworking is prized and supported. Like most, I have independently been interested
about the machines from the numerous articles that we use in our day by day lives. At school,
Physics and Maths have dependably been the subjects that I find most interested and in which
I exceed expectations. This has unequivocally pushed me towards seeking after a profession
in engineering. In addition, the motivation by counsellor and innovation of engineering
technology encourage me to pursue in engineering course at my early
age. Below please find my personal statement using the sections.
Education Background

From then on, with a goal in mind, I worked as hard as I could in studying and
succeeded in getting 8A in my SPM (Malaysian Certificate of Education). Soon after, I was
able to lend a loan with MARA (Indigenous People's Trust Council) to continue my studies in
Diploma level in German-Malaysian Institute. The hard work definitely paid off and hard
work always does, I graduated as distinctive diploma holder with CGPA 3.85 successfully.

Professional Goal

I am positive about my abilities to satisfy my objectives yet I concede that I am

inadequate in experiences and knowledge. However, I trust that all these can be gotten once
I enter the best engineering University which is Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. I hope that
I will be chosen for Chancellor Award during my convocation ceremony. As this would
absolutely help transform my desires of turning into an expert engineer into a reality and
contribute towards the advancement of the earth and my nation's kin.

Responsibilities and Characteristics

In the effort to better improve myself, I attended a lot of education seminars and talks
by special guests. My friends and lecturers portray me as a legitimate scholar yet I regularly
discover my own solution for Physics issues. What's more, some of critical thinking project
amid my Diploma have developed my leadership skills also including genuine and valuable
applications; these without a doubt enlarged my passion yet enhanced my use of Mathematics
and expanded my knowledge for Mechanics specifically. During my Diploma year, I have been
named as a lecturer's helper in engineering subjects like calculus and control systems, peer-
coaching sections to junior students in less propelled courses, rectifying and surveying their
projects and papers.

To be a volunteer is my second duty as student in my college before. I was a helper

for MARA Open-Day during my first year. During second year, I was President for community
service for Art and Culture Club. Not to forget, I have been selected for a collaboration English
programme with Busan Automotive High School during my final year for 2 weeks as a helper
for the Korean students.
Personal Statement

Relevant Experiences
During my internship, I worked as a chargeman assistant for about 4 months of
training. Within 4 months, I able to work under pressure and always follow my supervisor’s
instruction before working. After diploma year, I used my leisure to work as an operator in
fixture store company before furthering my studies in mechanical engineering in UTP. In
addition, I able to grow my passion in engineering from my working experiences.
Financial Need
As a new undergraduate student, the Yayasan Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS
(YUTP) scholarship would be the great assistance in supporting my goal to finish my degree.
I worked for 3 months for saving money before entering UTP because of my guardian’s low
salary. I hope become one of those special students and it is a great honor and appreciation
that I submit this application for your consideration.
