Elementary

Kinder to Grade 1

Balloon Race

1. Split students into groups.


2. Line the students up in their groups on one side behind a starting line.
3. Have one hula hoop or cone for each team placed on the ground about 40 feet away
from each team.
4. Blow up about 5 balloons for each team in case a couple breaks in the process of
the game.
5. Have 2 kids from each group start the relay by standing back to back with a balloon
between their backs. The pair must walk carefully to and around the pylon and come
back to the starting line without popping or dropping the balloon between their
backs.
6. When they return to the starting line, the next pair will start. Once everyone has had
a turn they will sit down.
7. The first team to finish the relay wins. Note: There must be an equal amount of
students per team participating in the relay. If you are one person short, you can
have someone go again!

Mary Went to Market

1. One member per group shall be dressed as Maria, particularly wearing bandanna
around the head as well as a hat followed by a duster, umbrella, basket and a
lipstick.
2. After wearing all the equipment’s, he/she must travel on a designated area and turn
around on an obstacle and back to the original position.
3. He/she must take-off all the clothes and other equipment’s and passes or relay it on
to the next member and wear again the necessary equipment’s.
4. Repeat everything until everyone in each group has passed or participated and the
first group to finish shall be declared the winner.

Grade 2 to Grade 6

Piko

PLAYING COURT
Stone floor drawn with chalk, charcoal On the ground-drawn with a sharp stick (in this
event, masking tape) 5 rectangles arranged vertically, rectangles 3 and 5 are divided
equally (3a and 3b; 5a and 5b): no.6 is a drawing of a half moon.

Pamato (maybe a flat stone, a brick chip, the bottom piece of a clay pot or a smooth
chunk of window glass)

MECHANICS

1. The players stand in front of a rectangle no.1. Each player takes turn in tossing his
pamato inside the 4th rectangle's dividing line. The player who tosses his pamato
closest to this line gets to play first. This is called manohan.
2. Only hops and skips are allowed using either the left or the right foot. Landing on both
feet is only allowed in the area or areas considered as home or "bahay" of a certain
player who has earned it after successfully finishing the game. No other player can step
on this area.
3. The 1st player tosses his pamato to rectangle no.1. Neither the
player nor the pamato must touch the line otherwise the player losses his turn.
4. The player then tosses his pamato to rectangle no.2, 3a, 3b, 4,5a, 5b and 6.

5. The player then plays the game all over again this time starting from rectangle no. 5.
6. After he has played in the entire rectangle, he tosses the pamato strong enough to
pass over rectangle no. 1. Hops passing rectangle no. 5 to 1 then jumps over the
pamato.
7. Player picks up the pamato. With his back turned against the rectangular play area,
he tosses his pamato towards the direction of the play area. Where the pamato lands,
that area becomes his home or bahay.
8. The game starts all over again for the 1st player. The rest continues with the game they
have left off.
9. The player with the most number of homes, wins.

Sungka

PROPS Pebbles, "Sigay" or shells seeds

MECHANICS
1. Sungka is always played by two people.
2. Each players fills up his seven smaller bowls with 7 "Sigay" each.
3. Both players start at the same time.
4. The object of the game is to put as many "Sigay" as possible in the large bowl as to
cause the opponent to lose one or two of his smaller bowls in the succeeding games
which means he losses.
5. If at the end of 15 minutes, nobody has been declared as winner, the game will be
called off. Each player counts the number of "Sigay" in the opponent's large bowl.
6. The player with the most number of "Sigay" wins.

Tumbang Preso

1. An It, the one to guard the tin can is chosen by throwing the pamato to the toe-line
by all the players. Whoever's pamato is farthest from the toe-line is the It.
2. The hitters will get ready at the back of the toe-line and at a signal from the It, game
starts.
3. The pamato must be retrieved immediately once the can is knocked down, the It will
start putting it up inside the circle, the one tagged becomes the It.
4. When the can is hit and falls outside the circle but remains standing, the It has the
right to tag the hitter once the hitter leaves the toe-line.
5. The can may be kicked or knocked down under when it is outside the circle.
6. If a hitter is not able to retrieve his/her pamato, the others can save him/her by
hitting the can.

Sipa

1. Sipa Bilangan is played by two teams.


2. First team to play is determined by toss coin.
3. The flyer is kick up and down, until the ball touches the ground.
4. Point is counted on every kick made.

SIPA MUDANSA OR BY KICKING.


PLAYER - Two per team (one tosser & one kicker)
PROPS - Same as Sipa Bilangan

1. Sipa Mudansa or by kicking is played by two teams.


2. To determine the first tosser & kicker (players), a toss coin will ensure.
3. Tosser stand facing kicker at a convenient distance.
4. A demarcation line is drawn 1 feet in front of the kicker.
5. Tosser throws a lobe toss to kicker, who will kick the fly at a distance.
6. Points will be made by measuring that distance where the Flyer landed using a
measuring tape as measuring device.

7. Three tries for both teams will be allowed, with the farthest distance considered as
point score.
8. In to event a kicker fails to hit the flyer, the kicker will forfeit his kick.

Non-Sports Participants

Agawang Panyo

MECHANICS

1. Form two groups of equal number of players.


2. Each member is assigned a number. Each should have a counterpart in the other
group, i.e., for each number, two players are assigned, one for each group.
3. The members of each group should stay within its boundaries, which are at the
opposite end.
4. The referee holds a hankerchief and stays in the middle of the boundaries.
5. When the referee calls a number/s, the players assigned to that/those number/s
strives to get the handkerchief and take it to the boundary. The players who holds the
handkerchief can be tagged by the members of the other group until he reaches their
group boundary.
6. The game continues until the referees states so.

Patintero

PLAY AREA: The ground is marked off in a 5 or 6 meter rectangle divided into 4 equal
parts.

MECHANICS:
1. Each team is composed of 6 players.
2. Winning the toss entitles the players on that team to be runners. The taggers stand
1,2,3,4,5, ad 6. Number 1 can go anywhere to tag the runners.
3. Taggers 2 to 6 tag the runners as they cross the lines or as they get near them.
4. As soon as one of the runners crosses line 6, he returns to line 2 and call out "Tubig!"
a point scored in favor of his team.
5. The runners must score a clean pass within 2 minutes, otherwise, a turnover will be
called.
6. In tagging, the taggers must have both feet on the line.
7. If a runner is tagged while crossing a line or while trying to cross, the teams
exchange places.
8. The team with the highest point after 3 turnovers wins the game.
9. If after 3 turnovers and nobody has been declared as winner, 2 turnovers will be
added to the game for a total of 6.

Junior and Senior High School

Basketball

A.TEAM COMPOSITION

1. 12 players (mixed JHS and SHS) shall be included in the official team line-up
excluding former players of NBTC.
2. The Official line up shall be submitted before the 1st game and cannot be altered
before and during the tournament.
B. DURATION

1. The game consists of four periods of 10 minutes.


2. If the scores are tied, overtime periods of five minutes will be played until one team
has more points than the other (at the end of the 5-minute period).

1. A basket scored from near the basket (inside the three-point arc) is worth two points.
2. A basket scored from far (beyond the three-point arc) is worth three points.
3. A basket scored from the free-throw line is worth one point.

D. MOVING THE BALL

1. The ball may either be passed from one player to another, or dribbled by a player
from one point to another (bounced while walking or running).
2. Before passing or shooting the ball, a player may take two steps (without dribbling).
3. Once a player has stopped dribbling, he may not start to dribble again.
4. Once the team in possession of the ball has passed the half-court line, it may not
cross back over the line with the ball.

E. SHOT CLOCK

1. When a team gains possession of the ball, they have a maximum of 24 seconds to
attempt a shot.
2. Additionally, offensive players may not remain within the restricted area (key) for
more than three consecutive seconds.

F. FOULS

1. A personal foul occurs when there is illegal contact between two opponents. A
player who makes more than five personal fouls is excluded from the game.
2. A foul made on a player attempting a shot results in the awarding of the same
number of free-throws as those of the shot taken (two from inside the arc, three from
outside). If a player is fouled but makes the attempted shot, the shot counts and an
additional free-throw will be awarded.
3. Once a team has made four fouls in a period, each additional foul (on a player not
attempting a shot) will result in the automatic awarding of two free-throws.

Volleyball

A.TEAM COMPOSITION

1. 12 players (mixed JHS 3 boys and 3 girls; and SHS 3 boys and 3 girls) shall be
included in the official team line-up.
2. The Official line up shall be submitted before the 1st game and cannot be altered
before and during the tournament.

B. GAME PLAY

1. 6 players on the floor at any one time - 3 in the front row and 3 in the back row
2. Maximum of 3 hits per side
3. Points are made on every serve for wining team of rally (rally-point scoring).
4. Player may not hit the ball twice in succession. (A block is not considered a hit.)
5. Ball may be played off the net during a volley and on a serve.
6. A ball hitting a boundary line is in.
7. A ball is out if it hits an antennae, the floor completely outside the court, any of the
net or cables outside the antennae, the referee stand or pole, the ceiling above a
non-playable area.
8. It is legal to contact the ball with any part of a player’s body.
9. It is illegal to catch, hold or throw the ball.
10. A player cannot block or attack a serve from on or inside the 10-foot line.
11. After the serve, front-line players may switch positions at the net.
12. Matches are made up of sets; the number depends on level of play. 3-set matches
are 2 sets to 25 points and a third set to 15. Each set must be won by two points.
The winner is the first team to win 2 sets. 5-set matches are 4 sets to 25 points and

fifth set to 15. The team must win by 2 unless tournament rules dictate otherwise.
The winner is the first team to win three sets.

C. VIOLATIONS

1. When serving, the player steps on or across the service line as while making contact
with the ball.
2. Failure to serve the ball over the net successfully.
3. Ball-handling errors. Contacting the ball illegally (double touching, lifting, carrying,
throwing, etc.)
4. Touching the net with any part of the body while the ball is in play.
5. When blocking a ball coming from the opponent’s court, it’s illegal to contact the ball
when reaching over the net if both your opponent has not used 3 contacts and they
have a player there to make a play on the ball.
6. When attacking a ball coming from the opponent’s court, contacting the ball when
reaching over the net is a violation if the ball has not yet broken the vertical plane of
the net.
7. Crossing the court centerline with any part of your body is a violation. Exception: if it
is the hand or foot. In this case, the entire hand or entire foot must cross for it to be a
violation.
8. Serving out of rotation/order.
9. Back-row player blocking (deflecting a ball coming from the opponent) when, at the
moment of contact, the back-row player is near the net and has part of his/her body
above the top of the net. This is an illegal block.
10. Back-row player attacking a ball inside the front zone (the area inside the 3M/10-foot
line) when, at the moment of contact, the ball is completely above the net. This is an
illegal attack.

Mini Me

1. Participants could be solo, partner or by group.


2. They must impersonate a notable famous character (whether local or foreign) who
excelled in his/her own field.
3. Contestants should prepare their own character portrayal piece. It should be
composed of an introduction inclusive of a famous dialogue/quotation of the chosen
notable local or foreign character to be followed by a performance and/or a talent
portion. Contestants may use wither English or Filipino as their medium.
4. Use of costume, props and other materials for the performance is required.
5. Contestants must memorize their script. They are not allowed to bring or read their
script during the performance.

Junior High School Modern Dance Competition

Guidelines

1. Each group shall be composed of the whole section for each year-level. Three (3)
points are deducted if there are excess or deficient in number of participants.
2. No outsiders, professional dancer/s and choreographer should be part of the
performance or create the routine. Automatic disqualification in the contest if the group
fails to follow.

3. The group must be at the contest area on time. Failure to come on time will receive
one (1) point deduction to the total score.
4. Order of performances will be based on the chronological order of the year/grade
level.
5. Groups must bring the music of their choice in a memory stick or cellular phone with
label- no cassette tapes allowed, no live band or musicians allowed. It should be
submitted prior to the event. There should be a back-up copy in case the submitted
music fails to play.
6. Music should be wholesome and lively and must not contain any subliminal, sexually
suggestive, and vulgar lyrics/ language.
7. The music must be at least six (6) minutes. Any excess in time will have 1 point
deduction/ min to the total score.
8. Use of props will be allowed as long as it will not cause any delay in the program and
any harm to the performance of other groups. Props such as oil, confetti, pyrotechnic
gadgets, smoke generators or combustible material, broken glass, live animals, sharp
objects and the like are prohibited.
9. Choreography should not be vulgar and must not contain any subliminal or sexually
suggestive act.
10. Attire may include accessories such hats, caps, gloves, scarves, jewelries, etc.
Removing pieces of clothing during the performance is allowed provided that it is not
offensive or out of character.
11. Appropriate clothing should be observed throughout the competition.
12. The top 3 winners will be the top 3 dance group with the 3 highest total scores.
13. If there is a tie in each winner group, a tie‐breaker round is required to determine the
winners.
14. Judges for the competition should not be related or closely affiliated with any
contestant. They are also refrained from talking to any contestant at any time especially
regarding with the competition and judging per se.
15. Prompting of competitors from the audience is not allowed. All participants should
conduct themselves in a manner displaying good sportsmanship throughout the
competition. Any demonstration of unsportsmanlike conduct will result in
disqualification.
16. Failure to comply with any of the foregoing rules and conditions will result to
disqualification (for the following rules without corresponding deductions)
17. Judges decision is final and irrevocable.

PYRAMIDS – LEVEL 1

Mr and Ms SJSB 2019

The "Little Mr. and MS SJSB 2019 and Mr and Ms SJSB 2019" is a wit, talent and
beauty inside and out search of the students of SJSB who will serve as ambassadors of
the school in promoting youth advocacies in our school and community. They will also
attend programs and activities relevant to their titles.

The candidates will compete on the following categories:

Qualification

The Search is open to female and male students who meet the following minimum
requirements:
1. A bona fide St. Joseph School of Baliuag Inc. student and currently enrolled.
2. With pleasing personality.

Mechanics

Each candidate will compete in the following categories:

 Facebook Likes – Each candidate will have official pageant photos that will be
uploaded on the Facebook Fan Page of SJSB. Candidates are encouraged to
share their official pageant photos to gather more likes from their friends. The
percentage will be computed based on the highest number of total likes of all the
photos of a certain candidate. The candidate with the highest number of likes will
get 10% of the category Facebook Likes.
 Production number – in the presentation of candidates they will be in their
Printed White Shirt and Maong Pants. They will be rated according to
its Projection and Mastery of steps (50%) and Poise & Bearing (50%).
 Summer wear Competition - in this category, candidates will be
required to wear the summer attire of their choice that highlights
their physical fitness to satisfy the criteria of Figure (30%), Summer feels
Identification (20%) and Poise & Bearing (50%).
 Uniform attire Competition - in this category candidates will be
required to wear the uniform of their choice to satisfy the criteria of Figure
(30%), Confidence (20%) and Poise & Bearing (50%).
 Long Gown/Formal Wear Competition - candidates must show proper poise
and bearing while in their Long Gown/Formal Wear. They will be rated based
on Figure (30%), Confidence (20%) and Poise & Bearing (50%).
 Question & Answer – Each candidate will be given one question to answer and
the answer will be rated according to its relevance, substance, & value to the
question given.

The Top Five (5) Candidates will be chosen according to these criteria:
 Facebook Likes - 10%
 Production number - 15%
 Summer Wear - 15%
 Uniform attire - 15%
 Long Gown/Formal Wear - 15%
 Question & Answer - 30%

In the Final Round, previous scores will be disregarded & the Top Five candidates will
be rated based on the final performance on the following criteria:
 Intelligence - 50%
 Beauty - 30%
 Poise & Personality - 20%

The Top Three (3) Candidates will be declared as Mr and Ms SJSB 2019, 1st Runner
Up and 2nd Runner Up, respectively.

The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable.

The following Special Awards will be given to candidates that garnered the highest
