out from the northern Uttar Pradesh. Located at the foothills
of the Himalayan mountain ranges, it is largely a hilly state,
having boundaries with China and Nepal in the east. On its
north, it is Himachal Pradesh and South is Uttar Pradesh. It is
a rich state in terms of natural resources water and forests
with many glaciers, rivers, forests and snow-clad peaks and
mountains. Char-Dhams, the four most sacred and revered
Hindu Temples e.g. Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and
Yamunotri are nestled in the mighty mountains. Dehradun is
the capital of the state. It has almost all major climatic zones, making it amendable to a variety
of commercial opportunities in horticulture, floriculture and agriculture. It has a vast potential of
tourism. The state is also rich in mineral deposits like limestone, marble, rock phosphate,
dolomite, magnesite, copper, gypsum etc. Due to availability of minerals there is a growth of
small scale industries in the state. The people are very friendly to the pilgrimage and outsiders
and happy with small assets and consumable goods. This is very brief about Uttarakhand.
