To describe the Calvados area
is to describe what Normandy offers
as daily pleasures:
Fill your lungs with fresh apple-perfumed air; listen to the rush
of the sea; immerse yourself in both recent and ancient his-
tory; discover the delights of an amazing heritage as well as
taste the produce grown in this famous soil.
To describe the Calvados area is also to link sea with country-
side, simple charms with authenticity, richness with variety.
To appreciate the Calvados area is to explore the tourist rou-
tes which criss-cross the département. These sign-posted itine-
raries are easy to follow come rain or shine. They uncover the
veritable treasures of a fertile and varied nature, encouraging
you to explore the rich, green countryside and to enjoy the pic-
turesque character of the villages.

‘Cru de Cambremer’
cider-makers for 2007
Cider-makers compete annually and those selected display the sign ‘Cru de Cambremer’ on
the roadside at the entrance to their farm. You are welcome to visit the farms to find out
how cider and calvados are made.
N.B.:
Some farms (n° 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14) are located a little way off the Cider Road on either
side of the circuit. Do not hesitate to ask for directions.
The newly recognised ‘CIDRE DE CAMBREMER - A.O.C. PAYS D’AUGE’ label is your guaran-
tee of provenance and quality. As vintages differ from cellar to cellar, ask to taste the cider.
In addition, certain producers marked with a ▲ will take you on a visit of their premises
(cellar, cider making plant, cider press or distillery). Closed at lunchtime, from noon to
2pm. Booking is required for groups.
