Maintenance History

8/18/05 Fabick: Complaint: Oil leak on right hand cylinder head. Cause: faulty
O-ring, part number (033-6027). Correction: removed plug and installed
o-ring out of service truck seal kit.

9/28/05 Fabick: Perform PI10368 as per service letter. Perform PS41791 as per
service letter

1/23/06 Fabick: Repair for leak heui fluid manifold. Complaint: Machine leaking
engine oil. Cause: O-ring blown out. Correction: Inspected machine and
performed diagnosis. Removed the tubes, air cleaner and lines for further
inspection. Removed the pump and found a plug in the bottom of pump
that had an o-ring leaking. Removed and installed new seals on the plugs
on the pump. Reinstalled the pump with new mounting seals. We had to
use new seals for all the lines and tubes. Reattached all the lines and
tubes, put on the support brackets, hooked up all wiring, put on the after
cooler pipe. Topped off the engine oil and ran the machine to recheck for
leakage. No further problem found. @ 1256 hrs.

5/10/06 Resealed RH eq. Bar seals @ 2262hrs. JM

10/30/06 Replace hyd. filter canister SH

11/1/06 Fabick – Check Steering Clutch. Right brake periodically won’t release.
Lower retainer worn out in final drive. Inspect machine & perform
diagnosis. The operator stated that brakes had worked normally all
morning. No logged codes. Inspected wiring to brake solenoids.
Swapped left and right continues not releasing. Research brake problem
removed the steering brake valve, cleaned and inspected, reassembled,
adjusted all pressures, checked operation & returned to service. The right
brake intermittently stays engaged after steering to the right. The brake
applied and would not release until machine was moved in the opposite
directions then it would release, or let the machine set for a while.
Removed floor plate and hooked up pressure gauges to brake pressure
taps and checked pressure, both sides were at specs and pressure
dropped off the same way and levers were pulled back. Installed floor
plates. The track still stops erratically, connected gauges to the brakes,
tried to get some fluctuation in pressures, the system wouldn’t act up,
left the gauges attached for the operator to watch and report on whether
or not pressures drop when track stoppage occurs, Tom Schilly to notify
me if this happens. Decision was made to remove both final drives and
bring to shop for inspection and possible repair. Per Joe Roth assembled
tooling for brake removal. Split the tracks, removed the left and right
final drives for shop inspection and repair. Installed the right and left final
drive groups, tracked the machine, tightened and torqued all bolts had
new power train oil & filters installed. Completed assembly, adjusted the
tracks, calibrate & adjusted the brake & clutch, high & low pressures,
checked fluids & operation, checked OK.
Repair Steering Clutch. Right steering brake will not release, excessive
wear on lower retainer for brake discs. Disassembled clutch disc
assemblies and cleaned parts. Inspected parts and found excessive wear
on lower retainer for brake discs. The worn retainer was causing lube
seals to be damaged. Replaced all bearings and seals. Installed updated
clutch discs as in service magazine sepd0654-00. Had oil notches drilled
in piston and retainer. Reassembled with new seals and discs. Checked
touch up pressure. Installed brake disc and plates. Aligned disc and
installed steering clutch hub. Installed steering clutch disc and plates.
Checked brake touch up pressures. Checked within specifications.
