Reading/Language Arts
In Language Arts our learning targets this week have included:
Dates to Remember: *Spelling focus: consonant blends “ng” and “nk” at the end of words
*synonyms: words that mean almost the same thing (happy, glad)
Feb. 18 No School/Winter Break *Sounds made by CV words like no, hi, and he!
Feb. 19-22 Purple Power Week *blending sounds, rhyming words
Feb. 19/21 PURPLE POWR STORE *recognizing verbs and plural verbs that add “s”
Feb. 20 PURPLE POWR HAT DAY *inferring– figuring out that because one thing happened another will or
$1 to wear a hat! because a character jumped up and down and yelled, “Yippee” we can infer
Feb. 22 Purple Power BB Game they are happy!
*Cause & effect– something that causes something else to happen: It rains.
What’s New: (cause) We can’t have our picnic. (Effect)
