A Detailed Lesson Plan

In MAPEH Grade 8 (P.E.)

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the students should be able to;
a) define what is the meaning of Sua-Ku-Sua
b) discuss the history of Sua-Ku-Sua
c) interpret the basic steps of Sua-Ku-Sua; and
d) perform the dance Sua-Ku-Sua

III. Procedure:

C. PRESENTATION OF THE
LESSSON
Here are the objectives of our
lesson: at the end of the lesson I am
expecting you to; a) define what
the meaning of Sua-Ku-Sua is, b)
discuss the history of Sua-Ku-Sua,
c) interpret the basic steps of Sua-
Ku-Sua and d) perform the dance
Sua-Ku-Sua.

Let us now define what is Sua-Ku- (student will read the definition)
Sua? - Sua-Ku-Sua or “My Pomelo
Kindly Read. Tree’is a dance that likens the
Sua’s gentle leaves, attractive
fruits, it’s fragrance and
slender body to that of a lady.
Additon to that, Sua means small
orange plant and is the name of
courtship dance and its
accompanying song.

Sua-Ku-Sua is from Jolo, Sulu
which is dance by the Muslim (the
Tausug) lowland in the coastal
area.

Jolo Sulu is located at South-West


Zamboanga, Peninsula, and
Mindanao.

country influenced this dance in the
Phil?

Sua-Ku-Sua’s traditional steps are


with Chinese Influence, Sua-Ku-
Sua is also a one of the most
popular Philippine dances of the
Island of Jolo, Sulu.

LITERATURE OF SUA-KU-
SUA.

1. Throughout this figure, the


knees are slightly bent and
turned outward. Arm are
extended sideward, with a fan
in each hand.
a) Take 32 steps in place,
turning the hand from the
wrist down and up. Bend
the head sideward to the
right and left with hand
movement. (the student will interpret the dance)

waist level.
Arm movement: With wrist leading, raise
R hand up and pull L hand dow, palms in,
flip hands reverse position a movement

b) Repeat (1) moving in a circle
clockwise and always facing
partner. And bot finishes
facing in front.
c) Repeat (1-2) clockwise and (the student will interpret the dance)
counterclockwise.
