The Admission to write the Exam (CBT) is provisional and subject to the eligibility conditions as laid down in ONGC Recruitment Notification. If any
candidate is issued Admit Card or permitted inadvertently, his/her candidature will be cancelled at any time as and when such mistake is detected
and no further correspondences in this regard will be entertained.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
1. Candidates should, in addition to their Admit Card, bring
a) Two copies of your RECENT coloured Passport size photo (3 cm x 3.5 cm)
b) at least one photo identity proof in ORIGINAL with clear photograph (e.g. AADHAAR Card, Driving License, University /College ID, Voter ID
Card, PAN Card, etc)
c) Photocopy of identity proof mentioned at (b) above.
If a candidate fails to bring the above documents, he/she would not be admitted in the examination venue and his/her candidature could be
cancelled.
2. Candidate must report as per the reporting time mentioned above at the Examination Centre and Entry in to Centre will be closed at Gate
Closing Time mentioned above and candidate will not be allowed inside centre after Gate Closing Time. Candidate will be permitted to occupy
their allotted seats once biometric registration process is complete for him/her, seat is allotted to him/her and a verified stamp is affixed on
their admit card.
3. Candidates shall have to undergo the process of FRISKING and ensure that their BIOMETRIC REGISTRATION is completed before they enter the
examination lab. Candidates shall not be allowed to leave the examination venue once their Biometric registration is completed.
4. Candidates must strictly abide by the instructions given by the exam functionaries (Centre Supervisor / Invigilator, etc).
5. The candidates should ensure that they provide clear Left Thumb Impression (LTI) at the time of biometric registration. Incase of PWD
candidates, Suitable Thumb/Feet Impression will be taken.
6. NO REQUEST FOR CHANGE IN EXAMINATION CENTRE WILL BE CONSIDERED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. The candidates must bring this
Admit Card at the Examination Centre. No candidate will be allowed entry without this Admit Card. The candidate is also required to bring one
of the photo identification card in original viz. Voter Identity Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport or Aadhaar Card etc.

This Admit Card is valid only if the candidate's photograph and signature images are legible. To ensure this, please take a clearly legible,
preferably colour print-out of this admit card on an A4 sized paper. Also, candidate must affix one’s RECENT coloured Passport size
Photograph in the space provided above.
8. Candidates will be permitted to appear for the examination ONLY after their credentials are verified by centre officials.
9. CANDIDATES MUST ENSURE THAT THEY DO NOT APPEAR FOR CBT AGIANT AN ADVERTISEMENT MORE THAN ONCE OR ELSE THEY WOULD
RUN THE RISK OF THEIR CANDIDATURE NOT ONLY BEING CANCELLED BUT ALSO OF THEIR BEING DEBARRED FROM FUTURE
EXAMINATIONS OF ONGC. In case the candidate has submitted the application more than one complete application, it is the responsibility of
the candidate to appear at the examination only against the last accepted application.
10. Candidates are advised to locate the examination (CBT) centre and its accessibility at least a day before the examination, so that they can
reach the centre on time for the examination. No candidate will be allowed to enter the Examination Center after the scheduled Gate Closing
time mentioned above.
11. The candidates appearing in Computer Based Test (Online Examination) should, in their own interest, check their eligibility in all respect so as
to avoid disappointment at any later stage. Your candidature for the examination is "PURELY PROVISIONAL". In case, it is found that the
candidate does not fulfil the eligibility criteria, candidature of such candidate is liable to be rejected at any stage.
12. All Exam Labs are under Video Surveillance and all activities of candidates are being closely monitored. You are therefore strictly cautioned
not to indulge in any unfair means. Such activities would lead to cancellation of your candidature for this exam and you may also be debarred
from future exams conducted by ONGC.
13. Possession and use of electronic devices such as Mobile Phone, Micro Phone or any other Associated Accessories, Calculator, Log Tables,
Pager, Digital Diary Books etc are strictly prohibited in the Examination Hall. If any candidate is found in possession of any these devices/
documents his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled. As such the candidates should not bring Mobile Phone/ Micro Phone etc at the
Examination Centre. ONGC authorities will not be responsible for safe keep of candidates' personal belongings.
14. Rough Sheet will be provided to candidates for rough work. A candidate must write his/her name and registration number on the rough sheet
before he/she starts using it. The rough sheet must be returned to the invigilator at the end of the examination.
15. Candidate is required to make one’s own arrangements for necessary stay/travel/food etc. and reach examination center in time.
16. Please note that this admit card does not constitute an offer of employment to you.
17. Travel Allowance (TA) will be paid to SC/ST/PWD candidates as per the form generated along with this Admit Card as per rules. Candidates
who do not bring the TA form (which can be printed along with this admit card, shown below) duly signed by oneself, shall not be paid TA.
Departmental candidates will not be paid TA at Test Centre, the same needs to be claimed through their Tour Programme created for the said
purpose.
18. Candidates applied as PwBD will be allowed a compensatory time of 40 minutes. PwBD candidates who had opted for Scribe will be provided
scribe by ONGC at the Examination Centre.
19. In the event of any technical issue faced during the exam, Candidates are requested to be seated inside the lab for further instructions by the
examination conducting authority. Any candidate walking out of the lab before the completion of the exam time, without the permission of
examination functionaries such candidates under any circumstances will not be permitted to renter the examination lab and it may also be
noted that his/her candidature will be cancelled.
20. Please make sure you sign in the space provided against your details in the Attendance Sheet. Signing on the Attendance Sheet is mandatory
and without signing the attendance sheet your candidature will be NULL and VOID.
21. Candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with the Computer Based Examination with the help of ‘Practice Test’ available on ONGC
Website.
22. The Total Questions & Marks for the Exam are:

CBT (Online Test) Instructions:
1. The duration of the Online Exam is 120 minutes.
2. Only one question will be displayed on the computer screen at a time. The candidates should Click on to go to
the next question or on button provided at the bottom of the screen to go to the previous question.
3. The candidate should click on the correct choice, from the 4 options given. In case, the candidate does not wish to attempt the
question, it can be left blank.
4. The timer is available on the TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER of the screen; you are requested to keep a tab on it to ensure that you plan
your exam within the allocated time.
5. The candidate can choose to unmark his/her answer by clicking the button provided at the bottom of the screen.
6. The questions can be answered in any order within the given time frame.
7. The list of attempted and un-attempted questions is shown in the right side of the screen. You can click on any of the attempted ones
to revise the answers in case you wish so.
8. Candidates have the option to bookmark a question in case they want to review it at a later stage by clicking on the button
available at the bottom of the screen. The Bookmark on a particular question can be removed by clicking on
9. The question palette at the right of the screen shows the following status of each of the questions numbered

PS: Questions which are attempted and marked for review would be treated as attempted questions only as long as the candidate
does not the option selected.
10. Candidates should use the OR button or click on the question number displayed at the
right side of the screen to move back and forth between questions.
11. The answers will be saved whenever the candidate goes to the next question, by clicking on OR
button. However, the last question will be saved automatically after answering.
12. If a candidate finishes the paper within the stipulated time, he/she can end the test by clicking the button.
However, candidates will not be allowed to leave the test hall till the end of the stipulated time.
13. On the completion of the test duration, even if the candidate does not click on an answer or does not click on the
button, the result will be saved automatically by the computer.
14. Any candidate found in possession of any unauthorized material or indulging in copying or impersonation or adopting unfair means
shall entail police action including cancellation of candidature.
15. In the event of the Examination being disrupted due to technical issues, the candidate should immediately inform the invigilator. The
invigilator will help the candidate to re-login to the Examination. This will start the Examination from where it had stopped.
16. Candidate must not bring any pen/pencil/eraser.
17. This admit card will be retained by the centre.
