Few rice mills just dispose of to
lagoons. Where they putrefy and find
ways. Few rice mills treat them for pH
correction, settling of TSS and then for
reduction of BOD5 and COD. They,
however, do not ensure the standard
before discharge.

As evident from the above, the quality of effluent does not

conform to the standard. They find ways from where they are
kept. Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation has always
