INTRODUCTION
The organ of female reproductive system include the ovaries (female
gonads), uterine tubes, uterus, vagina and external organs, which are
collectivelly called the vulva or pudendum. The structures supporting like
fascia and ligament, make the organs connected each other.
HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT
(make in separate paper and don't forget bring your ATLAS
ANATOMY)
5
1 2 3 4 6
Describe about the ovary, and it”s two ligaments and explain about
functional signifiance of both ligaments
6. Describe about the division of uterine tube
7. Describe the uterus and it”s division
8. Describe about internal os and external os
9. Describe about the vagina
10.Make a schematic drawing about vascularitation, innervation and
lymphatic drainage of female reproduction organs
11.Describe the microstructure of the ovary, uterine tubes, uterus (i.e.
during menstruation and proliferation ), cervix and vagina with the
schematic drawing
LABORATORY ACTIVITY
Pre-requisites: The students have to do the homework assignment and
read the references as listed in the first page.
Task:
Clinical Case :
You are medical student on duty in Obstetri and Gyanecology
Department. You have 35-year old female patient who complains of
irregular and painful menses, and an unexplained abdominal mass. The
patient reports that she has six children. On physical exam you palpate a
large (15 cm in diameter) mass in the lower abdomen. The patient denies
pain on deep palpation, bowel sounds are present and normal. The
surgeon decides to perform an exploratory laparatomy. She advises the
patient that she may have to perform a hysterectomy and makes certain
that the patient understands the consequences of the surgery.
Questions :
1. Define hysterectomy and laparatomy ?
2. To excise the uterus what ligaments would the surgeon have to cut
?
3. What kind of blood vessels would be concerned when the surgeon
performe the surgery?
What other vessel or tube would be of great concern?
