it depends on Distance & Power rating of transmission line , if bulk power is to be transmitted than prefer HVDC, but at the End you have convert DC Into AC, on both sending and reciving END, the cost of equipment
required for conversion increases in HVDC, but this cost is covered up as ,HVDC lines uses few conducter as compare to HVAC LINE . Both HVAC & HVDC has their pro’sand con’s

but i must say HVDC is in the new trend……
