PREMISE: Solitaire game. You are a dragon slayer, and there’s a dragon to slay!

COMPONENTS: This document; 8 red cubes (Dragon Wounds); 2 green cubes (Aim), 4
purple cubes (Hero Wounds), 2 six-sided dice.

HERO: Your Hero has 4 Life Points and an Armor value of 7.

TURNS: Each turn is divided in a Hero Attack phase, followed by a Dragon Attack
phase.

HERO ATTACK PHASE: Place your 2 green cubes next to two boxes in the body of the
dragon, so that the numbers in them are still visible. The two boxes must be adjacent to
one another (connected by a line). This is the general area of the dragon’s body you are
targeting with your sword or arrows.
Roll the two dice. After you see the result, you can reroll one or both of the dice, but in
order to do so you must remove one of the green cubes from the dragon.
After your roll or rolls, you can use your dice to perform the actions below. Each die can
be used only once per turn.

ACTIONS:
Attack: Use the number on a die (or the sum of the two dice) to attack an area marked
with a green cube. If the total of your attack equals or exceeds the number in the box, you
score a Hit. Place a red cube in that box.
Defense Spell: Use a die showing a 6 to increase your Armor value to 8 in the next
Dragon Attack phase.
Healing Spell: Use two dice showing 2 and 2 to recover 2 Life points, up to your
maximum of 4.
Magic Dart: Use two dice showing 1 and 1 to place a red cube in the Chest box of the
dragon. No effect if there’s already a cube there.

DRAGON ATTACK: Roll a die on the Dragon Attack table to determine which part of
the body the dragon will use to attack you. If that part has been Hit (red cube in the
corresponding box), use the first body part under that one that has not been hit. If there
aren’t any available body parts (for example, you roll tail, and the tail was hit), the dragon
does not attack this turn.
If the dragon attacks, roll a die and add the modifier for the body part that is attacking. If
the modified die roll meets or exceeds the current Armor value of the Hero, the Hero
takes a wound. Place a purple cube on the play mat, next to the dragon.

END OF TURN: If there are 4 purple cubes on the mat at this point, the Hero is dead and
you lose the game. If there are 8 red cubes on the dragon, you slay the monster and win
the game! If both Hero and Dragon die the same turn, the game ends in a tragic tie.
If the game is not over, pick up your 2 green Aim cubes and start a new turn.

VARIANTS: To make the game more or less challenging, reduce or increase your basic
Armor value and/or Life points.
