2019- Professional Development


2020 ● Obtain an academic advising position within the Green River College
Running Start Office
NASPA/ACPA Competency: Law, Policy and Governance
● Work with supervisor at Green River College Running Start Office to ensure
program is in compliance with federal and state laws, policies, and guidelines
NASPA/ACPA Competency: Assessment, Evaluation, and Research
● Utilize capstone research on Appreciative Advising to promote promising
practices for students
NASPA/ACPA Competency: Technology
● Redesign and program a new Running Start website to be more accessible
and user-friendly
NASPA/ACPA Competency: Social Justice and Inclusion
● Attend the National Conference of Race and Ethnicity to continue to expand
awareness, knowledge, and skills in multicultural competence
● Co-Facilitate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Workshop at Green River
College’s Student Affairs Division meeting
● Become an Equity Representative for hiring procedures and committees at
Green River College

● Complete graduate program with 100% of my effort and commitment while
balancing working full-time

2021 ● Attend regional and national conferences on academic advising strategies,
promising practices, and policies
● Collaborate with other college Running Start programs to enhance and
evaluate practices and processes

● Continue to reflect and improve my mental and physical health; take vacation
time, spend time with friends and family, and continue through my
transgender transition therapy

● Seek out leadership opportunities within professional environment and

● Register and become member of NASPA
● Attend NASPA conferences

2022 ● Present a workshop at a NASPA conference on Sense of Belonging for
Running Start students, Appreciative and Holistic Advising, or the needs and
support for First Generation and Low-Income students
NASPA/ACPA Competency: Social Justice and Inclusion
● Research and gain information on the growing needs of LGBTQIA+ students
in higher education
● Attend workshops and conferences to gain skills in supporting LGBTQIA+
students
NASPA/ACPA Competency: Personal and Ethical Foundation
● Research and apply for positions to help serve LGBTQIA+ students at
community colleges or four-year universities

2022- NASPA/ACPA Competency: Leadership


2023 ● Host a workshop or present on the needs of LGBTQIA+ students and
promising practices to support these students in higher education
Professional Development
● Research and apply to Student Affairs/Higher Education Doctoral programs
to become a professor in SA/HE Master’s programs

2023- NASPA/ACPA Competency: Assessment, Evaluation, and Research


2024 ● Start dissertation project within a Student Affairs/Higher Education Doctoral
program
