PRELIMINARY

1.1 Background

Scientific papers entitled The Importance of English in the World of Work to

know several aspects because of the development of the times and the increasing number
of foreign companies that are entrenched in Indonesia, inevitably force prospective job
seekers to be able to speak English fluently. Because most companies are looking for
employees who are able to follow the rhythm and communication with clients who are
non-Indonesian nationals. It is not wrong if the selection is tight when the interview is
applied by several well-known companies. They certainly don't want to accept
prospective employees who are not competent and fluent in mastering a foreign language.

Speaking fluent English can be an added value for those of you who want to apply
for a job. Most interviewers do emphasize English from the beginning of the encounter. It
is not wrong if the survey proves that almost 55% of companies in Indonesia demand that
their employees use English actively. It is also intended to increase the company's image
in the eyes of the public and investors and their clients. Cross-cultural understanding that
often speaks English makes employees demanded to be able to explore their abilities
more. Through several seminars held by the company, of course employees will be more
fluent in English. Cross-cultural communication is indeed often an obstacle when
between speakers and listeners have limitations in language. This reason is the measure
of why most companies reject prospective employees who do not have a proficient
English-speaking foundation. Of course communication will be much easier when you
are able to speak a foreign language with the other person. That is the importance of the
relationship between English and the World of Work.

English is a language that is used as a medium of communication and as the first

international language used to interact with other people throughout the world.

2.2 The Importance of Learning English

When visiting other countries throughout the world, of course you don't
understand the local language. But, because English is a common language, as a
foreigner in an area you can use English to communicate.

2. Job opportunities

Fluent in English will be an added value when looking for work because
you can speak two languages. In fact, you can get an international career if your
English is very good.

3. Economic innovation and development

Besides China, America is still a country that controls the development of

innovation and the world economy. And English is widely used in both fields.

4. English as a language of adaptation

Every country that has been colonized is influenced by English. Therefore,

ordinary English is adapted as a second language, such as in Germany, Norway,
Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

English. For that, for those of you who want to get and master a lot of
knowledge, you must be able to speak English.

English is the world language and is also widely used on the
internet. Almost every language book has been translated into the English
version. So it's easy to get world information if you know English. English is
important to me because English is an international language. We must prepare
ourselves for the era of globalization. At present, many companies recruit their
employees with ability tests in English. We can get more and more information on
the Internet, but 80% of information on the Internet uses English. I've heard that
intelligent people are people who can use certain languages. People must know
several languages, at least they can use two languages, National and International
languages. National language is for communication for fellow nations and
international languages for communication to people from other
countries. Regional languages are important to communicate with people from the
same area, but nowadays we rarely use regional languages.
3.2 Suggestions
Keep learning because without learning we will not understand
anything and get the knowledge and knowledge we want.
