The course, CE134P or Structural Design 2 (Steel & Timber), pre-requisite is reinforced concrete

design. The professor hopefully briefly discusses the pre-requisite course to refresh the students
the necessary topics that will be applied for foundation engineering. I expect to start and end
class on time, assign homework that adequately covers the material and meets the learning
objectives of the course while adhering to the time expectations for a 5-unit course, give exams
that accurately reflect the material covered in class and assigned in homework, and less focus on
theory and more on application-oriented course. By the end of the term I should have learnt the
design of structural steel and structural wood subject to flexure, tension, compression and
combined loads.
