REFLECTION

The video we watched gave us a glimpse of how the protagonist was burdened with quotas,
deadlines and the pressure of his department or the plant being shut down. We see scenarios telling
us that their department had reduced the cost of production through installing robots or an
automated workforce, claiming that this action had boost their “productivity”. However, his boss
was not pleased since the plant was not making money. The protagonist experienced budget cuts
and other types of prdicment. He was stressed and even when he came home, he does not realize
that he was neglecting his family, especially his wife. One time, he went out to think of a solution
when he bumped into his old college professor. The old man asked how he had been and he
responded by sharing information on his job and how it was going so far. He claims that they had
robots and that their productivity was u by 36%. However, the professor begged to differ. He asked
a series of questions and had proved his point. According to him, on can not measure productivity
simply through one variable. Having a lot of inventories does not equate to productivity since that
is not the main goal of an enterprise. Making revenue is the soul purpose of business operations.
At first, the protagonist did not tak this seriously but as he got back to work, he began to relize his
old professor’s point. The movie inspired by this preview was all about the protagonist being able
to solve his business problem.
