Lesson Intro (What will you say to get the students’ attention, communicate the lesson objectives, and motivate students
to achieve them?):
Today we are in the inspiration room because of the assembly in the Gym. Since we have limited space we are
going to have to be in control of our movements and our bodies. A good way to practice this is by doing Yoga.
Before I play the video that you will follow along with, I am going to warm you up so you are stretched and ready
to perform the Yoga movements in the video.
5 min each student on warm up (see attached) have students sit cross
their yoga mat cross and facing the
screen. I will tell them to
follow along with the
powerpoint and with me
as best they can.
20 each student on yoga for kids video (see attached) stop the video when there
min their yoga mat is 5 minutes left in class
and have students put
mats away and line up
Closure (What will you say and do to help students recall the lesson objectives and recognize what they’ve learned? How
will you meet one or more of the following goals: review, accountability, cool-down, recognition, interpersonal
communication, future plans?):
ask students how they feel? do they feel relaxed? ask students to raise their hand and see if they can remember a
few things that yoga does/helps with (breathing, exercise, meditation, improve health & happiness, teaches how to
achieve good health & inner peace & harmony
