PHASE I
OUR LIFE

1. Ask the students to participate in a

role play entitled “Carrenina’s
Dream”. Use the following questions
for the discussion:

 Describe Carrenina.  Carrenina is a nine year old girl. She

is already in grade three.

 Where will Carrenina go? Why?  Carrenina will go to the squatter’s

5. Link the value of Service with the

Word of God (Luke 4:16-21)

Jesus’ mission was to proclaim the

coming of God’s Reign or the
realization of God’s Kalooban for all
people. God loved everyone and He
particularly showed this to the poor
and to all in need. Jesus did His
mission by being in service to people
and nation. It is a value Jesus best
exemplified. He truly served his
people and His country. It was his
very mission. We, as children of
God, should take part in Jesus’
mission by doing the things and acts
the He has done because we are the
servant of the Reign of God.

6. Let the students watch the short

video showing “The Mission of
Jesus”. Use the following questions
for the discussion.

 Where did Jesus go?  Jesus went to His hometown,

Nazareth then He went to the
synagogue on the Sabbath Day.

 What is Sabbath?  It is a holy day of rest where Jews

gathered in synagogue to worship
God.

 What is synagogue?  It is a special building where Jews

met together to pray, worship and
learn about scriptures.

8. Present Phase IV lesson. Guide the

students to accomplish the activities
in I believe and I do.

I BELIEVE
Ask the students to read altogether
the following phrases:

I, (say your name), is a servant of the

Reign of God. I am called to serve
others and my country as my way of
serving God. I will follow, I will also
share my time and talent for the good
of others and the poor.

I DO

Activity: Explain that you would like

to make a thank-you gift for a
particular person in the school who is
known for his/her service. Hand out
a flower and stick to each pupil and
ask them to write or draw a way they
can be a true servant of the Reign of
God. After everyone has finished,
ask them to stand and altogether say
the following phrases:

“I will do my best to be a TRUE

SERVANT OF THE REIGN OF
GOD”

Ask them to place the flower in the

vase.
