Interpretation & Analysis


The above table shows the percentage distribution based from the

survey data from Purok 7 Tumbaga I Sariaya, Quezon 7.36 percent of

vaccinated are ninetine (19) or 13.57% percent of vaccinated pets while

non-vaccinated are (121) one hundred twenty-one or 86.43 percent. There

is a greatest percentage of community survey that the pets are not

vaccinated.

The main reason why eighty-six percent of dogs and cats in

community are not vaccinated is because when the public health nurse

comes in their place the drugs cannot be accessible in the end of their

place.

A vaccine is the most important because they can prevent

transmission of rabies to community or other place and people. Dog

vaccines are one of the most important preventive care measures for dog.

Dog vaccination can protect from numerous disease threats such as

hepatitis, distemper, rabies, heartworm and others. Depending on the

types of dog vaccine, dog shots can provide protection form disease for

anywhere from six months up to a year or more. And dog vaccines can

prevent of risks of having rabies when there is an incident of dog bite.

According to Public Health Nursing, rabies is an acute viral

encephalomyelitis caused by the rabies virus, a rhabdovirus of the genus

lyssavirus. It is a fetal once sign & symptoms appear. There are two kinds

of virus: urban or canine rabies is transmitted by the dogs while sylvatic

rabies is a disease of wild animals and bats which sometimes spread to

the dogs, cats and livestock’s.

taking of pets that are not vaccinated yet. Compared to vaccinated pets.

More people in the community are at risk of having rabies coming from

non-vaccinated pets bite. To prevent the rabies virus consult your pet at

the nearest health center to vaccination.
