Hat Pattern 1 - The Fisherman
This easy to make women's ribbed fisherman hat knitting pattern is an

excellent beginner project. Using mainly knit and purl stitches, it will also
introduce you to decreasing and shaping. This chunky knitted hat would take
you around an hour or two to make (depending on how fast you knit!) and is
super cosy to wear.
MATERIALS:
1 ball of chunky yarn (in Fisherman) suitable for size 10.00mm (US 15)
needles. Lion Brand wool ease thick and quick (colour 099) or something
similar. Super bulky weight - 106 yards.
Gauge - 5 stitches = 2"
Set of 10.00mm (US 15) circulars
Stitch markers
Scissors/Darning needle/Tape measure

Hat Pattern 1 - The Fisherman
PATTERN
Cast on > 40 sts
1st rnd: K1, P1.

2nd rnd: Knit
Repeat the two rows above until the work measures 8.5"/9" from the cast on
edge.
Decrease as follows >
K2tog, K2tog all around
Break yarn. Draw end through rem sts and fasten securely.
Sew in any loose ends.
Make a pom pom and stitch it securely onto the top of the hat in a
coordinating colour.
Hat Pattern 2 - Easy Moss Stitch Hat
This moss stitch women's chunky hat knitting pattern is an excellent

beginner project. Using mainly knit and purl stitches, it will also introduce you
to decreasing and shaping. This chunky knitted hat would take you around
an hour or two to make (depending on how fast you knit!) and will be a cosy
addition to your winter wear.
2 balls of chunky yarn (in Fisherman and Grey Marble) suitable for size
10.00mm (US 15) needles. Lion Brand wool ease thick and quick (colours
099 and 154) or something similar. Super bulky weight - 106 yards.

Hat Pattern 2 - Easy Moss Stitch Hat
PATTERN
Yarn A - Fisherman / Yarn B - Grey Marble
Cast on > 40 sts in Yarn A
1st rnd: K2, P2.
Repeat the above until the work measures 2.5" from the cast on edge. Cut
yarn and add Yarn B.
Rnd 1: K1, P1* Repeat all around.

Rnd 2: P1, K1* Repeat all around.
Repeat the two rows above until the work measures 8.5" from the cast on
edge.
P3tog, K1* Repeat all around.

P1, K1 * Repeat all around.
P3tog, K1* Repeat all around.
Knitting Pattern 3 - Garter Stitch Hat
This simple women's garter stitch beanie hat knitting pattern is an excellent
beginner project. Using mainly knit and purl stitches, it will also introduce you
to decreasing and shaping. This chunky knitted hat would take you around
an hour or two to make (depending on how fast you knit!) and will be cosy in
the colder weather.
MATERIALS:
2 balls of chunky yarn suitable for size 10.00mm (US 15) needles. Rico
Creative Melange in 001 or something similar. Super bulky weight - 106
yards. I used 2 strands together to knit the hat.

Knitting Pattern 3 - Garter Stitch Hat
PATTERN
Cast on > 40 sts
1st rnd: K2, P2.
Repeat until the work measures 2.5" from the cast on edge.
Next row: Purl
Continue to purl every round until the hat measures 8.5" or 9" from the cast
on edge.
P2tog, P2tog all around
Hat Pattern 4 - Chunky Wheat Beanie
This easy to make women's chunky hat knitting pattern is a great beginner
project. Using mainly knit and purl stitches, it will also introduce you to
decreasing and shaping. This chunky knitted hat would take you around an
hour or two to make (depending on how fast you knit!) and will make you feel
super cosy in the cold weather!

1 ball of chunky yarn (in Wheat) suitable for size 10.00mm (US 15)

Cast on > 38 sts

1st rnd: P1, K3, P1
Repeat the row above until the work measures 2.5" from the cast on edge.
Next row: Knit
Continue to knit every round until the hat measures 8.5" or 9" from the cast
on edge.

edge.
Next row: Knit
Continue to knit every round until the hat measures 8.5" or 9" from the cast
on edge.
Knitting Pattern 6 - Messy Bun Hat
This simple women's messy bun hat knitting pattern is an excellent beginner
project. Using mainly knit and purl stitches, it will also introduce you to
decreasing and shaping. This ribbed messy bun hat would take you around
an hour or two to make (depending on how fast you knit!) and will be
welcomed in the colder weather, when you go running or for brisk walks.
MATERIALS:
1 ball of chunky yarn (in black) suitable for size 10.00mm (US 15)
needles (Lion Brand wool ease thick and quick or something similar)
Super bulky weight - 106 yards. Scrap yarns can be used, as you do not
need a full ball for this pattern.

Knitting Pattern 6 - Messy Bun Hat
PATTERN
Cast on > 42 sts
K3, P3 ribbing until the work measures 6" from the cast on edge. (If you want
the hat to be a little longer - you can increase this by one or two inches).
Shape top: 1st rnd: *K3, P3, K3, P3tog* Rep from * around.
2nd rnd: K3, P3tog, K3, P1* Rep from * around.
3rd rnd: *K1, K2tog. Rep from * around till last st.
4th rnd: *K1, K2tog. Rep from * around till last st.
Break yarn. Draw end through rem sts and fasten so that you have an
opening large enough to fit your hair through. Don't close it up too tightly or it
will be difficult to pass your hair through the hole.
