SUBJECT: Current VGF Cylinder Head Assemblies
MODELS AFFECTED: All VGF Engines

VGF cylinder head assemblies have been updated
with new retained intake valves. The intake valve
retention system consists of the following components:
retainer (P/N 304014C), wire clip (P/N 296461A), and
crossbar assembly (P/N A304003C) (see Table 2).
Two new rocker arm support assemblies have been
introduced and replace previous assembly
(P/N GA300068), depending on model type
(see Table 1).

NOTE: Due to the required intake crossbar change,
the crossbar casting also changed. The previous
casting was used in both crossbar assemblies,
resulting in a new exhaust crossbar assembly
(P/N D304003C). Either the new or previous exhaust
crossbar assembly (P/N A304003B) may be used.
NOTE: Barbed end guides used on GL/GLD engines
require use of the valve seal installation tool
(P/N 472077). (Refer to Service Bulletin 07-2841A.)

NOTE: For extended spark plug life, use the
Waukesha Engine 13/16" reach precious metal spark
plug (P/N 69919D) in all current VGF engines.
NOTE: Current heads use 13/16" reach spark plug
holders (P/N 305003J). Older 300102 series heads
use 1/2" reach spark plug holders.
Always use the correct
CAUTION spark plug to ensure
proper plug reach. Disregarding this information
could result in product damage and/or personal
Previous P/N injury.
NOTE: Current heads use either a flange mounted
GA300068 rocker cover (P/N 300139F) and recess tube
(P/N 305002F) or a standard rocker cover
(P/N 300139D) and recess tube (P/N 305002E).
These parts will not work with the 300102 series
heads and earlier.

NOTE: The blue valve stem seal (P/N 304015C) may
be used as either an intake valve seal or an exhaust
valve seal, depending on cylinder head model
application.
