LEVEL : LOW TIME : 12.30 – 2.00pm

FOCUS SKILLS : Literature CLASS : 4 EKO

TOPIC : Poem – The Living Photograph THEME : VALUES

LEARNING OUTCOMES : 3.1 Listen to, read, view and respond to

L2: vi. Pronouncing words clearly and correctly and asking questions and making
statements with the correct intonation, word stress and sentence rhythm.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES : At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

i. Recite poem with the correct pronunciation by using the right expressions
and feelings.
ii. Explain the implicit meanings of each stanza in the poem of “The Living
Photograph” in groups.

SUCCESS CRITERIA Pupils will be successful if they can:

i. Recite the poem with the correct pronunciation.


ii. Present the implicit meanings of “The Living Photograph” poem.

ACTIVITIES

Pre lesson:

1. Teacher shows a family photo to the students.


2. Teacher asks what they can tell about the picture.
3. Teacher introduces the focus of the lesson.

Lesson Development

4. Students read the poem of “The Living Photograph” in silence.


5. Teacher divides students into 4 groups.
6. Teacher assigns each stanza of the poem to every group.
7. Each group must find the implicit meaning of the stanza given in 30 minutes.
8. Teacher moves around and monitors students.
9. Each group presents their findings to the other group in 30 minutes.

Post Lesson

10. Students share the reflection of their own learning with the class orally.
