wares and giftware, which will be unveiled in May this year,” Mr Kennedy
said.
“My new collection is named TUBU which translates - to grow, in-
crease, spring up and rise. It couldn’t be a more apt description as my label
is reinvigorated with this new partnership.”
Mr Kennedy said he is very encouraged with the confidence shown by
the team at Prouds for his “RKFJ” label and looks forward to extending his
popular brand across the country.
“The partnership with Prouds which is Fiji’s premium retailer will en-
sure my lifestyle brand reaches out to my extremely loyal local customers

beautiful tropical islands of Fiji.
Based on Fiji’s beautiful coral coast in Sigatoka – Robert Kennedy rose
to fame after winning the “Established Designer of the Year Award” and
the “Resort Wear Designer of the Year Award” at Fiji Fashion Week in
2011 and has since won numerous other accolades over the years.
He has also shown his collections internationally at various interna-
tional fashion weeks, festivals and events.
Prouds director Tejash Patel said he is very excited to partner with Rob-
ert Kennedy Designs as Prouds continues its commitment in offering the
best international and local brands in its stores.
“The introduction of Robert Kennedy inspired lines into Prouds stores
will add further value to our existing award‐winning local brands and we
look forward to a great partnership with Robert,” Mr Patel said.

Our People Are Our Strength

Nogi-san joins Prouds

TOKYO native Hiroaki Nogi has joined Prouds as the first-ever
Japanese sales and marketing coordinator for the popular retail chain.
Based at the Nadi International Airport, Mr Nogi’s arrival could not
have come at a better time following the recent announcement by our
national carrier Fiji Airways which has gone into a codeshare agree-
ment with Japan Airlines (JAL).
Apart from the three direct weekly flights provided by Fiji Airways
to Narita Airport in Tokyo, the new codeshare arrangement with JAL
will ensure Japanese tourists are arriving into the country daily via
connecting and direct flights respectively.
Mr Nogi who has studied tourism in Japan was working for Japa-
nese investment company SOFTBANK which is well-known for its
mobile phone business before joining Prouds in Fiji.
While in Fiji for the next three-years, Mr Nogi wishes to make
many new friends and also learn the local language and culture.
Having already rubbed shoulders with our rugby players, Mr Nogi
loves playing sevens rugby and has also had a short stint with the
Marist Sevens squad.
“This is my fourth week and I have enjoyed every moment with
Prouds,” Mr Nogi said.
“I wish to make a lot of new friends and also add value to the great
business opportunities now present with the Japanese tourists arriving
in good numbers.”
Mr Nogi said he was very impressed to meet Fiji’s ambassador to
Japan His Excellency Isikeli Mataitoga during his first official visit to
a company function in Lautoka recently.
“I guess it was easier to meet His Excellency in Fiji than in Japan,”
he joked with a smile. Hiroako Nogi with Fiji’s ambassador to Japan HE Isikeli Mataitoga.
