Smart Planet is a secondary-level
course which appeals to students'
curiosity about the world around them.
Stimulating materials complemented
by fascinating videos from Discovery
EducationTM help bring classes to life
and are the ideal starting point for
successful language learning.
Grabbing students' attention and keeping them
interested is one of the biggest challenges when
teaching English. This is especially true when
talking about Secondary Education.
At Cambridge University Press, we know that this
isn’t easy. That is why we’ve been researching this
and trying to find solutions for some time now.
The discovery
After a long research process involving a large
number of teachers and students, we’ve come to
a clear conclusion: curiosity is one of the main
driving factors when learning English.
 
If we can stimulate students' curiosity with
interesting content, discovering the secrets of the
world around us, by communicating with them in
their own language, surprising them… then we’ll
have already gone a long way.
The project
With this idea in mind, we reached out to Discovery
EducationTM, the best possible partner to help us
stimulate our students’ curiosity. They provide
their know-how with regards to creating content
while we provide the necessary expertise in
English Language Teaching.
