PIDIE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IN THE MILLANEAL ERA

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Alhamdulillahirabbil’alamin wassalatu wassalamu’ala

asyrafil anbiyai walmursalin wa’ala alihi wasahbihi ajma’in amma ba’du.

First of all let us praise and thank the presence of Allah almighty, for the abudance of
grace and joy of us can still gather in this place, without any barries at all and in good health.
Not forgetting the shalawat and salam we pour out to the prophet Muhammad saw who
has brought us out of the dark ages to the era of bright light today, namely Islam. May we
all get intercession on the end. Aamiin. My respect for the judge, for the committee , for the
contest participants and to all the audiences present today. On this occassion, allow me
standing here to deliver a couple of sentence speeces that Pidie educational system in the
millennial era.

What is education?
According to John Dewey, education is a prosses of growth. He says, “ Education
protects, sustains , and directs growth. Teacher stimulates, fosters, and strengthens this
growth.

And, nowadays, we can see generally, the education is happenned in our society,
espesially in our beloved region pidie. The schools in pidie have field up the needs of
education of the sosiety. Now, the question is, How the nowadays people/sosiety face the
millennial era with the standard education run in pidie. To answer the question, we first
need to know the definition of millennial era or millennials itself.

So, the term millennials generally refers to the generation of people born between in
the early 1980s and 1990s, according to the Merriam Webster Dictionarry, Some people
also include children born in the early 2000s.
Millennials have been characterized in a number of different ways. On the negative
side, they’ve been decribed as lazy, narcissistic and prone to jump from job to job. The 2008
book “Trophy kids” by Ron Alsop discusses how many young people have been rewarded
for minimal accomplishments ( such as mere participation ) in competitive sports, and have
unrealistic expectations of working life.

To see the problems above, the goverment needs to be aware of the impacts of
millennilal era. The young people in Pidie now are the part of the millennials. They also tend
to be rewarded for the minimal accomplishments in life.
The standard education in pidie now, has to be improved to be ideal for the
millennials.
 As the part of Aceh province, of which appreciate the implementation of Islamic
shari’a, Pidie should addopt the model of islamic education comprehensively.It is because,
the model of islamic education offer the solutions of the problems in the millennial era.

What is Islamic education?
According to Abuddin Nata the Islam Education is the guidance, train, and construct
effort the students, which done in aware and planned to make a main character appropriate
with islam precept values.
Education must have a vision and noble mission, the vision is far into the future
beyound time and space, while the mission of islamic educations is accordance to the
concept of tauheed, set that it will always relevant in every time and all conditions.
Education should be based on divine revelation ( Al-Quran and Al- hadist ). If education is
not guided and does not display the spirit of the two ideologies, the education can be
mentioned as a strange education.

As we know in Indonesia, the goverment follow the concept education of Ki hajar

Dewantara “ Tut Wuri handayani “, the concept of the education focused on aspects of
guidance to children in order to achieve happiness based on the nature of nature. This is not
consistent with the concept of islamic education that focused on aspects of worship and
tawheed based on divine revelation. Ki hadjar’s basic education is the principle pancadarma
(five principle) is explity no principle of divinity, it is contrary to basic Islamic education
which is based on Al-quran and sunnah.
Allah SWT said in the Al-Quran surah Shad verse 29

Which means is :
(This is) a Scripture that We have revealed unto thee, full of blessing, that they may
ponder its revelations, and that men of understanding may reflect. ﴾29﴿

The Islamic educational concept capable to be the best solution to the all problem of
this millennial generation. Especially for Pidie millennials generation. And generally for all
students in Aceh.
