Online Activity 3.5 – Digital Badges
The grade level that I am choosing to create these badges for is for grade 9 for a unit in circle
geometry. The purpose of the badge is listed in terms that students understand and, it is what
they would see attached to the badge. In italics is any clarification that teachers might need to
know to be able to award the badge.

Circle Definitions I can identify and give examples of key words
relating to circles.
Students can provide an example of a key word
in the unit when given the word, as well as give
the key word when provided with an example.

Perps and Chords I can successfully use perpendiculars and


chords to solve problems.
Students can solve these problems with correct
procedures and use of perpendiculars and
chords 9/10 times.

Central Angles I can successfully use measures of central


angles to solve problems.
Students can solve these problems with correct
procedures and use of central angles 9/10
times.

Inscribed Angles I can successfully use inscribed angles to solve


problems.
Students can solve these problems with correct
procedures and use of inscribed angles 9/10
times.

Manipulate I can consistently manipulate equations relating

Mathify I can consistently put a word problem into math


terms.
Students can take a word problem and correctly
create the math equations needed 9/10 times.

Reflection I can look back at my work and identify where I


went wrong and how to fix it.
Students can reflect on what they’ve done and
see what they should’ve done; this is a way to
measure progress and understanding.

Independent I can consistently solve problems


Problems independently.
Students can correctly solve problems without
