“Winning the cities to Christ,

one teenager at a time!”

‘..millions of babies
have been aborted and our nation seems largely
February 2019 unconcerned. Self-centered indulgence, pride,
and a lack of shame over sin are now emblems
Sharing Christ with women in a crisis pregnancy since 1985 of the American lifestyle.’ Billy Graham: 2012

Bernard and Sylvia come to Christ!*

Where are they now? Bernard and Sylvia came to Gateway knowing she was one-
month pregnant. Bernard decided to marry Sylvia February 23rd.
She is from Africa. He is Hispanic. Two of our new volunteers
(Leslie -see story on the left) and Victor, spoke to each
individually. Both listened to the gospel being presented and
BOTH trusted Christ as Savior. * Names changed
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count
slowness, but is patient toward you not wishing that any
should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
Leslie Gonzalez came to Gateway – Elizabeth nearly two decades
ago. She was pregnant and considering abortion. She carried to term and now
her daughter is 18. Leslie trusted Christ, attends International House of Prayer
in Cranford and just began counseling at Gateway-Irvington on Thursday
evenings. She is so grateful for the ministry and is now helping other young
women to make Godly decisions. Praise the Lord!

Keep praying for ‘Mighty Max’ born at 22-weeks weighing 1.1 pounds!
Max has endured much in his young life. Max is the great grandson of Rev. Sam and Tilly Giresi who helped in the founding of the
Gateway ministry. Their church in Newark (House of Mercy Mission) is just 1/3 of a mile from Gateway-Irvington. Gateway reached
out to Dr. Jose (Pepe) Arrunategui a dear friend of the ministry. Dr. Arrunategui suggested the parents offer the hospital a written
waiver of personal responsibility and also request use of glucocorticoids in the 22nd week for the baby’s lungs. Usually a preborn is not
administered this until the 23-week. Without this vital information and intervention, the baby may have died. The hospital accepted the
suggested information and baby
Max was born February 8th. at 22-weeks weighing 1.1 pounds! According to Tilly, "took well to the breathing machine & is now in
NIC unit @ Morristown" Now Max needs our prayers even more.

UPDATE: 3-1-19 7:44pm: Mom (Samantha) writes: ‘God is so faithful! Thank you so so
much for putting Mighty Max on your prayer requests blog! I know it’s all those prayers and
God that has gotten us this far! He is still doing great! He is off the oscillation ventilator and
he’s on the standard ventilator. The oscillation one is for critical babies so we are beyond
excited that he is no longer on that one. He is getting 1.5 mls of breast milk now and tolerating
it very well another prayer answered’ Pray also for Samantha and Jeremy Hopping, the
parents of this precious newborn.
