GUIDELINES AND REMINDERS

In line with our upcoming National Convention on February 27 to March 1, 2019 at Crowne
Plaza Manila Galleria, Ortigas Center, Quezon City, please see below guidelines and reminders:

CLAIMING OF CONVENTION KIT
Registration will start at 8:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon.

1. Proceed to Ruby-Opal Ballroom located at the 4th floor of Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria for
queuing. Ruby-Opal Ballroom will serve as a holding/queuing room. You will be transferred to
Opal A & B for the claiming of kit (Please see below event floor plan).

2. Claiming of kits (inside Opal A & B) has five (5) counters, Counters 1 and 2 are for early bird
participants and College of fellows, counters 3 , 4 , and 5 are for regular rate participants.
Counters will be divided alphabetically according to surnames (i.e. surname you had entered on
your registration). There will be an usher to guide you. Please see below assigned counters.

3. Upon reaching your counter, show your valid ID (e.g PRC ID, driver's license etc.) and/or
your confirmation letter together with your QR code (no need for printed copy of confirmation
and QR code).

4. After verification, you will be given your convention ID. Your QR code will be scanned and
before releasing your convention kit, you will be asked to sign the official PRC attendance sheet.

5. Opening and viewing of exhibits (ribbon cutting) will start at 3:00 in the afternoon. Welcome
dinner will start at 4:00 in the afternoon. Please be on time.

NOTE:

- OFFICIAL RECEIPT will be given together with your ID.

- Secretariat office is located at Opal C.

- Certificate of appearance for government employees is also available at the registration


counters.

- Don't forget to scan your QR codes at the check-out counters after the welcome dinner
( February 27, 2019).

ASSIGNED COUNTER
RAFFLE (PIChE Bingo Card)
Inside your convention kit is your PIChE Bingo Card (Please see below sample picture for your
reference). Follow these steps to qualify for the raffle.

1. At the back of the card, write your full name.

2. You will have to visit the exhibit booths of the companies in your PIChE Bingo card and ask
them to sign it. (Note that each PIChE Bingo card has a random set of companies that has to be
signed). Signing of PIChE Card will start on February 28, 2019.

3. Once you filled the card with the exhibitors' signature, proceed to Jade (PIChE booth) to
submit your raffle entry.

4. The signatures on your PIChE card will be verified by the assigned committee. Forging of
signatures would forfeit your raffle entry.

5. Once validated, your QR code will be scanned for the electronic raffle.

AWARDING OF CPD UNITS
As part of our innovations, we'll be tracking attendance through QR codes. The CPD points to be
awarded at the end of the convention will be based on the percentage of the total convention
period attended. Don't forget to let your QR code be scanned when you attend our parallel and
plenary sessions.

Number of hours accounted per day:

Welcome Dinner (February 27, 2019)- two (2) hours


Day 2 (February 28, 2019) - eight (8) hours
Day 3 (March 1, 2019) - eight (8) hours

Maximize your convention experience with the THOMSON REUTERS CONVENE app.

Follow these steps to fully utilize the app:


STEP 1: GET YOUR CONVENE CODE
You will receive a code from app@getconvene.io. They may be stored in your spam mails so
please check them. Note that codes are unique and should not be shared with others.

STEP 2: DOWNLOAD CONVENE AND ENTER THE CODE


You may download the convene app through google apps or apple store. Enter the code in the
'Enter code' tab.

STEP 3: WELCOME TO THE NATIONAL CONVENTION CONVENE PAGE!


Explore the page through the options tab.

STEP 4: EDIT YOUR PROFILE


Edit your profile under the 'Attendees List' tab. You can add your picture, details, and even
connect your LinkedIn account. At the convention, you can use your profile as a business card
because the app allows profile sharing through QR code scanning. Note that the convene QR
code is different from your convention ID QR code.

STEP 5: EXPLORE THE PAGE


The page allows you to see the program overview, know the speakers profile, and explore the
specific details of each event, such as event locations. You can 'heart' the events that you like and
even rate and give feedbacks that are directly sent to the organizers. Handouts will also be
uploaded in these pages after all the sessions.

STEP 6: ASK THE SPEAKERS!


One objective of using the convene app is to increase interaction between the speakers and the
audience. Under each session details, you can click the 'Poll' option and you will be directed to
the polleverywhere website, which will allow you to ask questions to the speaker, real time!
Questions will be screened by the moderators so please make sure that questions entered in the
poll are respectful.

Note: The use of app is optional. Meaning, you can still go enjoy the convention with or without
the app; however, the organizing committee still encourages you to use the app to enhance your
convention experience.

TECHNICAL TOUR
This year, the PIChE National Convention Committee offers you not one, not two, but THREE
choices for technical tour! Join your fellow Chemical Engineering colleagues as they explore
Chemical Engineering at work in the north and south of Metro Manila.

Tour Details:
Date: March 2, 2019
Time: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Departure and return to Crowne Plaza Hotel will depend on chosen
track)
Call time : 5:00 am at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria Lobby

You can choose among three Tracks:


Track 1: CLOSED! Biyaheng Norte (Central Azucarera de Tarlac and Clark Water Corporation)
(max 25 pax)
Track 2: Tara sa Timog (A) (JG Summit Petrochemicals Group) (max 25 pax)
Track 3: Tara sa Timog (B) (Central Azucarera De Don Pedro and Absolut Distillers, Inc.) (max
50 pax)

VERY IMPORTANT: ALL TRACKS REQUIRE PARTICIPANTS TO BRING THEIR OWN


SAFETY SHOES AND HARD HATS. Miscellaneous materials (ear plugs, face mask, safety
glass), if needed, will be provided in the tour kit.

CLAIMING OF CERTIFICATE
This year, the convention gets an upgrade with its certificate claiming system because we will be
sending e-certificates through your email. We will be doing this for 2 reasons. First, we want to
avoid long lines. Finally, we have to compute first for your rated CPD points before we send the
certificate.

Evaluation forms will be given at the end of the convention (March 1, 2019), lunch time. Submit
your evaluation forms at the check-out counters before you can check-out. NO SIGNED
EVALUATION FORM, NO CERTIFICATE
