Proposing implementation of
collaborative courses/projects with
multiple CAAD majors to enhance
career preparation

CAAD Pride
Collaborated with 7 college and interest clubs to put
together a fun, interactive zone for CAAD in the Festival
of Colleges.
Held session to raise awareness and answer questions
regarding CAAD programs and culture for AABP students
Initiated assembly for students to voice concerns with
administrative department, resulting in a back and forth
discussion regarding individual and shared issues.

Design Management
Brought up issues with regards to Bachelor
of Design Management Program and is
working with management and faculty to
implement changes with regards to course
structuring
Brought forward and successfully

negotiated proposal with regards to
designating dedicated work space for
Design Management Students.
Mental Health
In an attempt to help eliminate the stigma
associated with mental health issues, collaborated
with the CAS Student team to raise awareness
about mental health.

Proposed the introduction of a space
where students from different majors
in CAS can spend time to help
strengthen the CAS community.

• Proposed changes to existing facilities such as
coffee machines, computers, and printers in MCM
Labs.

• Proposed instalment of Library check-out bins in


Lan and PHY buildings.

Health Course
Followed up on previous
representative’s efforts to
introduce a General Health

course as a free elective.
CAS Pride
• Collaborated with 6 college and interest-
oriented clubs and associations to demonstrate
the diversity that the College of Arts and Sciences
encompasses in the Festival of Colleges.

• Organized CAS Dean’s List ceremony which


aimed at celebrating the achievements of
students across all disciplines in the College of
Arts and Sciences.

CEN Collaborations
Initiated CEN meet-up, a fun social event to encourage a
collaborative environment for students of different majors

CEN’s Pride
Collaborated with six college and interest
organizations to put together an exciting,
interactive zone for CEN in the Festival of
Colleges.

CEN’s Future
• Updates for CEN includes the process and testing of
Appsanywhere, which will allow students to access any
software on and off campus

• The internship portal is currently under development


and will be available soon

CEN’s Focus
• After several meetings with the
Dean, it has been agreed upon that
more events will be hosted to unify
the community between different
engineering disciplines and students
and their professors

• It appears that addition of a prayer

room in EB is not feasible. For your
intake on this, please feel free to meet
with me for any questions.
SBA Facilities
• Proposed the instalment of colored printers
with additional features in the labs on the 1st and
ground-floor of SBA.

• Proposed the extension of opening hours of SBA


Labs and ITF.

SBA’s Voice
Organized insightful talks with
individual students and brought
up the issues they proposed
to the Associate Dean such as
telecommunication coverage (DU),
printers, and air-conditioning.

SBA Competition
Encouraged three teams from SBA to participate in
UOWD’s Inter-university Business Pitch Competition.

SBA Pride
Collaborated with 5 SBA Organizations
and 3 SBA Student Clubs to conduct a
collaborative and fun zone during the
Festival of Colleges.

• Lowering dorms speed bump implemented

• Parking shades are in progress, budget


approved and suppliers being contacted by
the Operations Department, (Pending)

• Shuttle Bus Tickets to Abu Dhabi can now


be purchased through package (4 trips)
or individual trip ticket, and expiration
Transportation

• Installation of bus stop at the library


roundabout (next to EB 2), with shaded area
• Installation of female sanitary machines
in Academic Buildings is approved and
pending.

• Water dispensers will be filled more


frequently.

• Lab orders and ventilations in CHEM is


under investigation.

• Temperature control in CAAD and SBA can


be manually controlled by students.

• Our hardworking Cleanco staff will be


resting in their Cleanco/staff room in
between rotations.

Facilities
• Discussed the need for improving on-
campus and off-campus services, and
ease of access to all printers from all
devices.
ICT & Digital Initiatives

• Slow student log-in on computers is


currently being revised and updated.

• Weak Du connectivity across campus,


(especially in SBA Basement) is currently
given full attention to.

• New printers (Double-sided, colored)


will be placed in SBA Basement and
CEN.

• More student employment IT


Department has been mandated by
the IT director.
• Installed charging station at the Student
Center

• Placed Piano at multipurpose room of


Student Center.

• Attended to interest-oriented clubs and


college organizations through multiple events
across Fall 2018.

Student Life
• Aimed to increased AUS pride through
sports, recreation, and college spirit.

• Based on the student voice, The Dining Table


restaurant will be introducing a healthy menu
starting Spring 2019.

• Through a series of workshops by HR, AUS


Security personnel have been briefed on how
to interact with students more sensitivy on
issues with regards to dress code and more.
This subject is open for suggestions.

Student Life
• Regular spraying for pest control in dorms is
conducted during Summer/Winter breaks.

• Discussion with upper management


regarding the wellbeing and privacy of
students living in dorms, which includes
logistics for deliveries and maintenance staff,
especially in Women’s Dorms.

• Promoted and implemented an effective


method of communication between dorm
supervisors and student residents through
group messaging.
