Video Amplifier Circuit

Couple the coaxial cable of TV camera to the video cable connector terminal and set the input impedance selector at “75
ohm” position. (In operating more than two monitors at the same time, couple the video cable terminal of one monitor to
that of another monitor by means of the said coaxial cable. In this case, it is noted that only the input impedance selector
switch of the lastly connected monitor, must be set at “75 ohm” position but those of the other monitors, at “High-iiped-
afxe” position”.) The video amplifier consists of five transistors Q20’1, 4202, Q203, Q204 and 4205, and the Q202 out of
them is an emitter follower type which serves as a buffer circuit and its output is applied to the 2nd video amplifier stage and
synchronizing circuit. Passing through the Q203, Q204 and 4205 and going out of the 020 1, the signal is assured of good
characteristics of band width and gain so that ciear-cut picture will be able to be produced on the screen. In short, this five-
stage video amplifier circuit can provide such amplification characteristic as having both the gain of over 40 dB and the band
width of more than 7 MHz.

Cable Compensator Circuit

As the length of cable coming from the camera is made longer, high-frequency component of the signal is reduced to ad-
versely affect the picture quality. To prevent this problem, the cable compensator control (R227) is provided: adjust it ac-
cording to the length of the cable (its clockwise rotation will enhance the high-frequency component and vice versa).

Sync Separator Circuit

The transistor Q501 serves as a sync separator circuit that separates sync signal from the composite video signal to amplify it.
Being a PNP type, this transistor receives, at its base, the composite video signal and can develop a completely pure sync sig-
nal having the positive polarity.

Vertical Circuit
How to adjust this circuit is as follows:
1. Apply video test pattern signal to the unit.
2. Adjust the V-LIN (R608) control so that picture is symmetrical in up-anddown direction of the screen having the best
linearity.
3. Adjust the V-SIZE (R605) control to set the overscanning to 12 +- 2%.

Horizontal Oscillator Circuit

How to adjust this circuit is as follows:
1. Adjust the +B supply (R905) control to set +B power to 11.5 + 0.2V.
2. Apply video test pattern signal to the unit.
3. Turn the horizontal oscillator coil L701 counterclockwise until the picture begins to deflect, and then return it clockwise
to a point where the picture resumes its normal state - this position is called a point “A”. Then turn the coil further
clockwise until the picture begins to deflect and next return it to a point where the picture restores its normal state -
this position is called point “B”.
The best adjustment is to make the test pattern be reproduced at the geometrical center between the points “A” and “B”
of the CRT.
4. Cut off AC power supply, instead apply DC voltage (11.5V) to between TP901 and earth, and reduce the voltage so that
the raster becomes insufficient. Then use the centering magnet to bring the raster to the center of the CRT.
5. Set the raster overscanning between the positions ‘9%” (min.) and “14%” (max.).
(If the raster overscanning exceeds 14%, change the H-WIDTH lead tip to cut off C714.)
Finally, make sure that the picture won’t collapse at the extreme right and left even when the contrast control is set at
“MAX” position with the brightness control at “MIN” position.
