March 8, 2019

Our department has been investigating three robbery complaints, which occurred in our City starting in February.
The first occurred in the evening on 02/16/2019 at a residence located at 135 Scio St. where three persons entered
the residence and attacked the 31 male occupant while forcibly stealing cash from him. The victim later sought
treatment for his injuries. The second robbery occurred on the evening of 02/26/2019 at 735 W. Main St. where
three persons entered the residence. Two of the suspects reportedly were armed with handguns. All three
suspects attacked the 23 year old male occupant, who was struck on the head with said firearms, as well as struck
with fists or kicked numerous times. The suspects stole cash and other property before fleeing. The victim later
sought treatment for his injuries. The third robbery occurred during the night on 03/04/2019 at 325 Coffeen
Street. At least three persons forced their way into the apartment where several occupants were located. During
the robbery at least one suspect was armed with a firearm and the suspects forcibly stole money from a 31 year
old male occupant.

During this investigation, we developed leads that identified the suspects from the above listed robberies.
Yesterday we received information that they were at a residence on N. Hamilton St. in the City. With the
assistance of the Metro Jeff Task Force, Special Response Team (SRT), the Jefferson County Sheriff Emergency
Response Team (SERT) and members of both departments’ K-9 Units, we conducted surveillance on the residence.
During the evening, we were able to locate a female suspect when she was driven away from the house. Shortly
after this, one of the male suspects fled the house on foot running into the neighbors’ yards. Additional assistance
was received by City Police Officers, Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies, and New York State Police Troopers, who
were able to set up a perimeter in the area. The suspect was taken into custody within a short time. The third
suspect was located in the residence by the combined efforts of the SRT, SERT, and members of both departments
K-9 Units during the execution of a search warrant. A handgun, pellet gun and other evidence were found in the
house as well.

Three persons have been charged and will be arraigned in City Court this morning. Their names and charges will
be released shortly.

This is an ongoing investigation. If anyone has information on any of these crimes, we encourage you to contact
our department (315)782-2233.
