-assist the preparation of the pay slip in the office

-went to Old Hospital Rehabilitation Construction to observe and familiarize the plans for

evaluation

Afternoon:

-continued the familiarization of the plans comparing it to the actual structure of building

at the rehabilitation of old hospital at capitol ground Malaybalay City, Bukidnon

In the morning ma'am Ann from the office of records ask us to assist her to prepare

the pay slip. After that we wait for the instruction of Engineer Jomyl as he prepare the

specification and detail of which are duly shown in the approved program of work and

building plan for evaluation. Then we went to the assigned site at rehabilitation of old

hospital near capitol ground at Malaybalay City. At first, we familiarize the plan and

determine which structure of wall in the old building are going to be removed and

demolish. Then we inspect the structure inside the building to compare it to the actual

plan and then check if the removal of the wall inside the building are already done. While

checking, we observe a labor applying skim coat to a column and then started to ask him

some questions about his work. We also try to ask the labor if it is okay to try what he did

earlier which is applying the skim coat to a column because we wanted to experience

those work.
 In the afternoon, we continue to inspect the work or the construction of the building.

We observe the piling of Concrete Hollow Block for a wall footing. We also observe the

electrical work and masonry works. After observing, we ask them some questions related

to their work. After that we went to the office to sign-out and have some snack.

-Visited Kisolon Sumilao Bukidnon road construction

-started the Evaluation of the rehabilitation of old hospital near capitol ground Malaybalay

City, Bukidnon

At 10:05 am we arrived at the construction of JCT sayre highway Impasugong San

Juan-Intavas road with ma'am Lalay from Provincial Engineers Office to inspect the

current situation of the road construction. Where in-fact the contract was already

extended in one month because of the construction delayed. They can't pour the concrete

on scheduled time because of rain, then also the head of Materials and Testing in
Provincial Engineers Office complaint why the construction of road are still on-going even

though the three (3) sample of Concrete Hollow Block for the construction was failed the

compressive test.

Before we proceed to Kisolon Sumilao Bukidnon road construction we first ate our

lunch somewhere at Impasugong. Then we arrived at Kisolon Sumilao Road at 11:08 in

the late afternoon to inspect their work. After that we travel to the office for the noon break.

In the afternoon we started to evaluate the accomplish work of the construction at

the Old Hospital of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon to be rehabilitate as government office. We

decided to first evaluate the most difficult one to solve which the structure concrete with

a total of 2.39% wet of the overall construction with a unit that is in per cubic meter which

includes the foundation, footing, column, beam, and slab. Then we look at the plans and

specification under structural work to identify the schedules in each. After that we also

ask the structural foreman about the height of the column they constructed in every

different elevation. Then we measure the items needed to find the volume of concrete

which gives a 45.2% for item structure concrete.

-accomplishment Evaluation of the Rehabilitation of Old Hospital Building, Capitol

Compound, Malaybalay City.

In the morning we went to the office to log-in. After that we directly went to our site

to evaluate and estimate the percentage done and estimate the total cost of work of the

Rehabilitation of Old Hospital Building, Capitol Compound, Malaybalay City.

The table below shows the Individual Program of works given by the Office of the

Provincial Engineer (PEO). The Evaluation was based on the set of plans and details of

construction calculated based on the percentage done per every Item.

The Demolition, Removal and Disposal was based the total area of work minus the

total area of work done, we just get the total area of work undone based on floor plans

and elevation plans. Structure Excavation was based on the cubic meter excavated for

footing and foundation, septic tank, and etc. Forms and Scaffolding are made of Phenolic

Boards and metal tube respectively. Metal works for roofing are already 100% installed.

The Masonry work includes the piling of concrete hollow block. We based on the set of
 drawing plans upon finishing this work. For the detailed information, we ask the

assistance of their structural foreman. Structure Concrete are calculated based on cubic

meter constructed which includes beam, slab, foundation and footing. The painting works

are calculated based on the area per square meter with only skim coat applied. The

percentage of Electrical works was based on the estimate of the electrical foreman.

Morning:

- examined the accomplishment of the Construction of 4 –storey health services building

with laboratory and classrooms (phase-1) at Bukidnon State University (Bukso), based

on PERT Diagram by their program of works.

Afternoon

-visited the Construction of 4-storey Finance Management Building with offices and

classrooms phase-3.

Early in the morning Engineer Jomyl Orleans instructed us to examine if the

accomplished work of the Construction of 4 –storey health services building with

laboratory and classrooms (phase-1) at Bukidnon State University (Bukso) school

campus passed in the PERT Diagram ‘Explain” and the calculated accomplished work

which is at 26.482% attain the required percentage of the total target program of work.

In the afternoon, we visit the Construction of 4-storey Finance Management

Building with offices and classrooms phase-3 to observe there current work. Then we

went to the bang house to shed from the rain with Engineer Jomyl Orleans then talked

something’s related to our field.

June 22, 2018 (day11, Friday)

Morning:

-visited the Construction of Covered Court Stage Phase1 at Barangay 9 Malaybalay City,

Bukidnon

Afternoon:

-went to Provincial Engineers Office (PEO) to test the six (6) beam sample aging 14days

and 18days from the road construction at Kubayan Casisang Bukidnon and Three(3)

cylindrical Sample aging 30days from the rehabilitation of old Hospital Capitol Ground

Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

The next morning we went to the Construction of Covered Court Stage Phase1 at

Barangay9 Malaybalay City, Bukidnon to observe the pouring of concrete to the beam.

We observed the manual transportation of concrete, which they just throw it above and

then pour.

In the afternoon, first we went to City Engineers Office with Engineer Jomyl

Orleans to pass a request for the testing of materials to Provincial Engineers Office (PEO).

Then,we observe the testing of the six (6) beam sample aging 14days and 18days from

the road construction at Kubayan, Casisang Bukidnon which all of the sample passed.
Then the Three (3) cylindrical Sample aging 30days from the rehabilitation of old Hospital

Capitol Ground Malaybalay City, Bukidnon which attains a compressive force of 26mpa.

25.4mpa and 23mpa which passed the minimum compressive force 21mpa. After the

testing we went to the plaza to buy some snack and go back to the company’s motor pool

to check the other un-matured sample then we went to the office to sign out.

June 23, 2018 (day12, Saturday)

Morning and Afternoon:

-assigned at the rehabilitation of old hospital, capitol ground, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon

to observe the works of Electrical, Plumbing and Structural works.

It turns out to be our rest day because the evaluation of the rehabilitation of the old

hospital was supposedly one week of work. But we just finish it at only one and a half day

so we just went to our site then observe there different work. Then at their bunkhouse the

foreman of structural and electrical works was there while we are taking our break so we

talked a lot of stuff about our possible future that maybe someday we will have our own

construction company. They given us some advice if someday if we became engineer

what is the correct approach to the workers in the construction especially the foreman.

They give us a lot of example from there past experience and share some solution to us

if what we will do if this kind of situation happen in the construction. We also tackle about

the problems in the field like personal concerns, problems in governing or running the

construction in government just like that thing called SOP’s and etc., advising and

reminding us what we will do if we were assigned at government soon.
